Harry Potter Director Chris Columbus Wants More Books!

chris columbus wants more potter books

Maybe if EVERY Harry Potter fan in the world makes a puppy dog face at the same time, she'll change her mind!

Even though he only directed the first two Potter films, Chris Columbus wants needs more Harry in his life! Here's what he had to say about it:

"It's hard to imagine it ending. When I saw the final coda in the last film, seeing Harry at like, age 34, it was a little shocking because I said to myself…'What happened between the ages of 19 and 30?'"

"There's a whole other slew of books that I think could be written if J.K. Rowling can be persuaded. So we'll see what happens. I hope we see those books."

You should probably listen to Chris Columbus and write more books, JK! The guy directed the Home Alone movies, after all. Show him a little respect! LOLz.

Do U agree with Chris Columbus? Should JK continue telling Harry's story?

I would be more interested in the back story. How about books about the young Dumbledore?

The Harry Potter world is HUGEE! So much could be done with it. She could write about the inbetween, harry's kids, maraders era, etc… Hell, I'D EVEN BE STOKED IF SHE JUST USED NEW CHARACTERS AND SET THEM IN THE MAGICAL WORLD WITH A NEW STORY! PLEASE.

He only directed the first two films, and although his more childish and bright version of the series worked in those two films, if he were to direct a Harry film now it would be considered an abomination.

People seriously need to stop demanding for her to reel out some cheesy crap just to appease them. As a director he should be aware that the story arc is over, the conflict has been resolved and therefore there can't be any more stories about Harry. A

The story is over and the conflict has been resolved and as a director he should know this means there can't be any more. I hope she doesn't just reel off some cheesy crap to appease people. A prequel could work IF it was very well written but NO to a sequel.

I THINK WHAT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE IS, A PREQUEL… A STORY ABOUT SNAPE AND VOLDEMORT.. BEFORE HARRY.. HOW IT ALL HAPPEN.. THE SECRET LOVE BETWEEN SNAP AND LILY YOU KNOW .. THAT KIND OF STORY… ALL ABOUT DUMBLEDORE AND WHAT HAPPEN BEFORE … lets face it, harry is not coming back, and doest want to come back.. AND if they try to make a movie about their children.. no way.. its never gonna stop and never will good … PLEASE MAKE A PREQUEL !

I agree with most everyone who has commented so far. The story of Harry Potter is clearly over. Evil has been defeated and they are living happily ever after. If she were to write about their kids or even an older Harry, Ron and Hermione, what would be the conflict? Anything less than Voldemort would be like a shell of what the first 7 books were. And if there was another evil to fight, it would completely discount what had been accomplished when they defeated Voldemort.

I'm interested in a series of prequels, though. Even if they went as far back as when Dumbledore was in school, perhaps even back to the founding of Hogwarts with the main characters being Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Of course I'd also be interested in reading about James and his crew along with Lily and Snape.

To be honest, i will probably buy ANYTHING JK puts out. I'm sure this is true for all of her fans. I just hope that she and the publishing companies (/movie producers) have enough integrity not to ruin a faultless story for profit.

I would love it if J.K.Rowling wrote about the kids.or a book about Ron and Hermione. that would be great.
