Carson Daly Finds Air Force Singing Soldier Via Twitter! She's Coming To The Voice!
This is exactly the reason we love the internet sometimes!
We posted this video (above) of Angie Johnson, a member of a U.S. Air Forces Central Expeditionary Band called “Sidewinder,” currently stationed in the Middle East, belting out an UNBELIEVABLE cover of Adele's Rolling In The Deep, which apparently also caught the attention of Mr. Carson Daly!
Well, it seems he was so impressed that he was able to LOCATE and contact her via Twitter - and now, it looks as though gurlfriend may be getting the opportunity to show off her skillz on The Voice!
According to their Twitter exchange:

Perez, this is wonderful. But please keep in mind that if you are in the Air Force (like myself), you are not a soldier, you are an Airman. Those in the Army are soldiers.
She seems to do that effortlessly. Really beautiful and goosebump invoking. I also appreciate that locomotive of sound backing her up. They are all excellent.

Sigh. I try not to be bothered by this - consider the source and all - but just like he did with Dan Savage's "It Gets Better" campaign, Perez is sneakily trying to take credit for this woman's Carson Daly connection and audition opportunity on the Voice. The "Rollin' in the Deep" video was the lead story on the front page of both MSN and MSNBC for almost two days, so maybe, just maybe, it is much more likely that Carson Daly saw it there (or was alerted to it by someone who saw it there) rather than due to Perez's posting. And he knows this, so he writes something vague enough so that people think he is responsible. Petty, I know, but it bugs me.
Amazing voice. And the band is wonderful, too.
