Gov. Rick Perry Announces Bid To Run For President!

And here we go…let the madness begin.

As we reported and feared he would, Texas Governor Rick Perry has officially announced his bid to run for President today.

He said during a speech in Charleston, South Carolina:

"I full well believe I'm going to win. America's place in the world is in peril, not only because of disastrous economic policies, but from the incoherent muddle known as our foreign policy. I will not sit back and accept our current misery. A great country requires a better direction. A renewed nation requires a new president. [People object to an administration] that sees its role as spending our children's inheritance on failed economic theories that have given us record debt and left far too many unemployed, threatening not only our economy, but our security. Our reliance on foreign creditors and sources of energy not only compromises our national sovereignty, but jeopardizes our national future. [His campaign hopes to take the country] from the grips of central planners who would control our health care, spend our treasure and micromanage our businesses."

Sorry, Rick, but we can't say we'd particularly trust your judgment on 'economic theories,' given your stellar college history, let alone all of your other wonderful attributes!

We're going to stop here, before we get ourself into trouble.

Given your college "background" I hardly think we ought to be listening to you on politics, either.

  2. 2

Oh you and the rest of the lunatic delusional liberal fringe have something more then fear to live with seeing that the right side of the isle has more to offer this election season other then a crypt keeper candidate. Men who have experience and aren't afraid to show their less then stellar college grades are going against a community organizer with a failed agenda and no real plan who is refuses to show us his college grades. Oh yeah you have something to be afraid of and it's Obama being Jimmy Carter part 2.

  3. 3

At least his college records were released. Obama never did that.

  4. 4

Relax Mario, we have way bigger troubles than gay rights at the moment. We have a military to bring home that Obama promised to do & failed. We have an economy that's even effecting YOUR bottom line. No one's going after your gay rights.

  5. 5

Perry will bring the government crazy ideas like working for a living, living within our means, and economic stability. With tarp programs and Qauntitative Easings 1-50, why should anyone have to work? Re-elect BO his promises are unbelievable.

  6. 6

    BYE BYE OBAMA!!!

  7. 7

Re: Seriously1988 – Agreed. Perez hates anyone who doesn't think like he does, doesn't have the same beliefs, and isn't all about gay rights.

In the real world most of us aren't concerned about Gays having the ability to get married Perez. In the real world we are worried about the well being of the Country, our economic situation and the future for our children. I'm a Republican and I'm for gay marriage. But honestly it's not an important concern to me right now. I'm concerned about this Country. If we crash we will be out in the streets fighting for food. We will all be poverty stricken. No Foodstamps or Welfare to save us because it will all be gone.

So stop bitching you don't like Republicans because its old. Report on Celebrities because that is why we come to this site.

  8. 8

Re: Ultraworld – Well spoken… The world doesn't revolve around gay rights.. Other people have priorities as well…

  9. 9

You should be more concerned about his current record than what he did or did not do in college. We have elected plenty of highly-educated, Ivy-Leaguers who haven't know how to lead. And, as far as gay-rights, that's primarily a state issue anyway so you really shouldn't base your vote strictly on that alone.

  10. 10

Great. Now the moron Jesus Freaks of the nation can unite and form their brain-dead plan to save the world through prayer and voo-doo. What a fucking loser this asshole is. He barely graduated from college — C's & D's. Nothing to be proud of. Not a damn thing.

  11. 11

You don't trust his economic theories just because he didn't have straight a's? funny thing is that Texas has the best economy in the country right now. We are adding jobs daily. Gay marriage, while it is an issue that will need to be dealt with eventually, is not the important issue right now. If we do not get our economy back on track gay marriage won't matter anyways, because this country will be done for.

  12. 12

    WOOHOO!!! Perry in 2012!!! I can't wait. :D

  13. 13

    Re: twistlockcap

    You wish!

  14. 14

Look at it this way. I see you hardly have advertisers when you once had many.
While I realize many pulled because they didnt want to be associated with a pig like yourself. Many other feel they can no longer afford to advertise on any little pip-squeak site that asks. You cam thank Obama for that.

  15. 15

If he is almost "normal" he got no chance against those tea party crazies. That of course is a good thing for Barack Obama.

  16. 16

Re: berrybaby – You obviously don't read the papers or watch anything other than FIX News to know that the poor and middle class are already there. Why is it that CONservatives love their money so much and hate the poor or middle class? Chalk this up to just what I always say "it's a lack of oxygen to the brain that makes people vote R".

  17. 17

Re: FS – Heh….Guess you 're an extremest huh. People who think like you and make no room to bend on a position are the people who will ruin the world.

  18. 18

Re: raychelleeliz – Electing a man that made c's and d's in college isn't exactly what I would call a smart move. Why does the CONservatives love the dumb so much other than the fact they seem to know how to manipulate the facts so very well..

  19. 19

Hey Mario what's your college "background".. Oh that's right you never went to college. got it.

  20. 20

Re: Shelah – Another shiny example of just how our education system failed this country….

  21. 21

Sad to say, but Democrats won't win the next elections. Obama was dealt a horrible hand and plays it to the best of his abilities, but unfortunately it's not working, the mess left by Bush is too hard to clean up. This Perry guy won't win though. The GOP candidate will be Mitt Romney. He will be the next President.

  22. 22

This guy is a whack job trying to push his personal beliefs on the rest of us. We need someone like Ron Paul to run.

  23. 23

Re: johnnyp – This man made c's and d's in college so that must make it ok for him to lead this country?? Please tell me you're smart enough not to be a tea bagger because those people are such idiots most of them believe the world was created 2,000 years ago just like Perry. Lack of oxygen to the brain is all I can say…

  24. 24

Re: JCPiscool – He went to NYU and says he graduated, but I highly doubt it. I would love to see that diploma…

  25. 25

If he wins we're all FUCKED!

  26. 26

Okay seriously get over the whole college thing!!!!!!!!! I'd like to see how you would preform in a college level economics class.

  27. 27

Yeah, good luck with that… hahahahaha

    28

Re: berrybaby – yeah right.. *cough* bush *cough* republican

  29. 29

Yeah let's vote for another President from Texas. By the way when he says he created more jobs, he's right. They pay minimum wage and if you can live on that come to Texas. If you have a daughter he ordered girls to have an STD vaccine. Never tested, just gave it to the girls. If you are innocent of a crime stay out of Texas. Rick Perry allowed a man to be executed who requested a new trial. When people got too close he replaced three of the nine Commission members in an attempt to change the Commission's findings. Also as a Texan our kids are dumb. The education in Texas is one of the worst in the states. School are being closed, teachers are being laid off. As a Texan don't be stupid like my fellow Texans. Don't vote for another candidate from Texas.

  30. 30

Re: danieltroppy – First off I don't watch Fox News and Secondly I am (or was) middle class I went from a household that had two decent incomes to one small income . I know what it is like to struggle so don't preach to me about that. Get off your high horse. I know what the newspapers say. And if a Democrat had good idea's I would be willing to swing my vote to the other side. Unlike many extremists I'm willing to look at BOTH sides of a situation and make an educated decision. It's pigheaded stubborn people (left or right) who aren't willing to hear anything except what they want to hear who will ruin this Country. So don't you come at me with your insults and assumptions because you have no idea what you're talking about.

  31. FS says – reply to this

    31

will you fucking post my comment Perez!! I posted it twice and one was an hour ago! Annoying!

    35

Questioner: Sir what will you do about rising healthcare costs? Perry: Rising healthcare costs is Gods will, and we shouldn't stand in the way.

Questioner: What will you do about the unemployed? Perry: God unemployed these people, so they'll have more time to serve Jesus.

Questioner: What will we do about welfare programs? Perry: HA! Get these bumps off welfare, they should get out and find a job, instead off living off charity…after all that's what Jesus said….right?

  36. FS says – reply to this

    36

Perry's inauguration will be the first one in US history to be conducted entirely in tongues.

  37. 37

Wait, is this the guy who decided we just needed to "Pray our problems away" instead of actually doing something? and HE WANTS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE COUNTRY?!

    I… I… I don't even…

  38. 38

Re: FS – Knowing that just makes me happier!!! :D . Let me guess… you're gay too. LIke I said before WOOHOO!!! Perry in 2012!!!

  39. 39

GO PERRY! Who gives a shit if he didn't do well in Economics in college. HOW LONG AGO WAS THAT?! Even so, you barely use what you learned in college to do your job, I have two degrees and most of what I use daily at my job has been hands-on experience in the field, not the busy work and ridiculous group projects from college. Texas is one of the ONLY states in the United States that is BOOMING right now, so it appears that Perry is doing something right. It's clear that I will never agree with Perez on politics, as I would never ever ever stand with Obama.

  40. 40

Re: JCPiscool – Yeah, well he isn't running for president now is he?

  41. 41

  44. 44

Re: Austin TX – …so, any criminal that requests a new trial should just be given one? interesting…

  45. 45

The economy in Texas isn't as bad as everyone else but our school system is completely screwed up and it's pretty much all Rick Perry's fault I wouldn't vote for this awful man if my life depended it on! He lives in a crazy large mansion and feels that he is above everyone else. He disgust me!

  46. FS says – reply to this

    46

Rick Perry Prayer: "Dear Lord, please let me President so I can eliminate taxes for my friends, the big oil companies. So I can cut the benefits of seniors, and run this country into the ground, like my friend Bush taught me. Amen"

  47. 47

We have a bunch of college professors and lawyers with no real world experience in high places in Washington and look where that's gotten us. Call for BO to release his college grades…..maybe that will explain everything.

  48. 48

Perez, you're an idiot. A total fool.

  49. 49

The Republican Party is just a front for big international corporations who don't give a flying f*ck about you or this country. Keep stabbing your fellow citizens in the back by voting for huge big oil tax breaks!! It's called fascism. When the corporation co-govern. Look it up.

  50. 50

Hey Perez…what exactly did you find offensive in the quoted statement? America's in peril? True. Spending our children's inheiritance? True. Need a new direction, leaving too many behind, reliance on foreign creditors? All true. Despite your "no hate" stance (which is a joke) that is all you do. Here's a thought….if you are going to take someone on, do so with FACTS. What is your plan to get us out of the mess we are in? If you are so willing to knock someone down, at least have the decency to offer an sound, factual alternative. I'll be waiting……..

    52

Then by that argument, you haven't got much confidence in the President as his college years were described as, "unremarkable."

  53. 53

The guy talks to god. Enough said. Does he believe in the Easter Bunny too? How about Santa Claus?

  54. 54

Re: boston61 – Jesus loves you.

  55. 55

As a smart, college graduate from Texas, I am proud that he's thrown his hat in the ring! Everybody needs to stop being so mean, chill out and listen to what all the candidates bring to the table before the bashing begins. For some of you open-minded liberal people, you sure are some angry close-minded a-holes!

  56. 56

Re: FS – Perhaps you've posted enough blather. And by the way, Perez censors. He'll allow the most crass, disgusting comments on his site but I've noticed his crew will not post a comment, polite and thoughtful, if it hits too close to home (for Perez).

  57. 57

Re: berrybaby – Thank you, berrybaby. Amazing how you get attacked for such a simple comment. The jr. high school kids and slackers come out in force with their blather, knowing nothing of the real world, working 60 hours a week and paying taxes. Oh, I forgot to mention the union members that may be bashing you too. After all, they are entitled to everything that private sector employees do not receive.

  58. 58

    Today's court case score:
    People 2, Obama 0
    -
    1. Atlanta judge declares Medicare mandate illegal
    2. Cheyenne judge declares ban on resource drilling illegal.
    -
    Obama: Upbeat and hopeful. heh

  59. 59

Looks like these Democrat appointed judges are waking up to the fact, they're on the back-end of that plane, front-loaded with Palinistas, careening into the buidling.

  60. 60

Perez, if you looked a little further into Rick Perry and his economic history, you would realize that in the 2010 fiscal year, 40% of all jobs created in the United States, were in Texas. So he clearly knows something about economics. I don't think a majority of people in the country can say they were serious academics in college. People learn and grow up. Everyone in this country deserves a shot to run for the presidency, so you should give him a shot instead of basing your opinion based on one economic grade he got in college.

  61. 61

    Ron Paul 2012

Re: La Vaquera – As opposed to what? The Madness induced high science hebrew kabbalistic death cults that the Royals (who rule us) are obsessed with and take advice from demon spirits that they summon obsessively? See the Goetia. 68. 68

I attended the call to prayer rally in Houston, Texas. Not because I thought Perry would be there, but because my pastor asked members of our church to attend. NOT ONE GAY slur was made. NOT ONE.

Perry wasn't even on my radar, but I admire a man stands up for his principles. BTW…my dad was a c/d student and never graduated college, but he was an awesome businessman who provided alot of opportunity for a alot of people.

  70. 70

I would love to say that Barack Obama did better in his economics class but that can't be done because his transcripts have not been released.

  71. 71

For all the people trying to discredit this guy because of his college grades, it's not working. Some of the most influential and smartest people to live didn't even graduate college or even attend. You know: Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, John D. Rockefeller, Henry Ford and Steven Spielberg to name a few.

  72. 72

I live in Houston, I just turned 18, and NEVER in a bazillion years would I EVER vote for Rick Perry. I'm going to be going to college at the end of this month, and I'm not exactly fond of more money being cut from my education. It's bad enough that he cut so much money for schools in Texas; if he becomes president, then he'll just do it to everyone else too! I honestly don't care what anyone says about him, because my opinion is already set. He effed up my education, so I can't forgive him for that.

  73. 73

Perry's been governor of texas for over half my life and i don't have any complaints. If you want to find a job here, they're out there. Higher education here is awesome too.
The grades you make in college don't define you as a person.
I'm all for this; woooo Perry :D

  74. 74

Re: Risthrissa – after reading your comment i have to say i now support the voting age being raised to 25. :( happy indoctrination!

  75. 75

Normally I don't comment on political posts, but as someone who was laid off 1.5 years ago and has not yet landed another one despite looking hard every day and sending out many resumes, I'll vote for the person who seems to have the best ideas for restoring the economy and creating jobs. And I do not want to hear about "green jobs" - I am 60 year old female and somehow do not see myself installing solar panels :)

Not the point. We don't want leaders who believe in fairy stories (religion).

  78. 78

Re: sony3918 – Support it. It doesn't make a difference to me. I'm not gonna vote next year anyways. I was simply saying that he effed up Texas education.

Congressman Ron Paul represents the state of Texas as well, if people are bagging credit for job creation.

  80. ML57 says – reply to this

    80

Okay so apparently people are saying Perry had C's and D's in college. It is true that 40% of job growth since the recession has been in Texas. The most brilliant part of that 40% job growth is how Texas has attained it. We STOLE it from other states. Perry gave tax breaks to companies who moved to Texas. About 65 companies from California moved to Texas. Their legislatures even flew to Austin, TX to see why. Companies from New Jersey moved here. When Washington wanted to increases taxes on business, Perry sent them a letter that if their state doesn't want their "business" than Texas will. Now if he can steal back the jobs that went overseas, then I'd say he's brilliant.

I am a Texas resident, I have been here less than a year. I lived in Hawaii all my life. Honestly things are way better here than Hawaii. Things are 10x cheaper here. My husband's pay is much higher here than back home and it's the same job! As for the education in Texas, its not bad as Hawaii's (trust me, Hawaii is almost near bottom).

  81. 81

BO's goal is to grow the welfare state which is in direct contradiction to growing free market jobs. If you support the current welfare state and a failng economy cast your vote for BO.

  82. @v@ says – reply to this

    82

Texas is an oil state. Oil rose from 35 dollars a barrel to 90. Of course jobs were created there. They would have been created if Perry lived in Timbucktoo.

  83. 83

Re: FS – No I didn't like Palin either. I still would have rather seen McCain/Palin in office over Obama. But Oh well.

  84. 84

Has anyone else noticed that he has that same snarky "they're buyin my bullsh*t" grin that Bush had??

  85. 85

BO is giving us change, and little hope, and a huge welfare state….why should anyone work…vote for BO. Let the people making over $250K support everyone.

  86. 86

I LOVE Texas, but not so sure about this guy. I'll have to check him out on some debates. I saw that hack lady Bachman on Meet The Press this morning and the host was going in hard on her about the whole gay issue (she's against it) atleast per her OWN words from a speech she did a couple of years ago that David Gregory (host) read. I hate when politician can't answer a simple YES or NO when a "simple" question is asked. Some things need to be elaborated on, but a a lot don't… - Are you against gay rights? Yes or No. She dodged the question left & right. And for the record, I am not gay…I'm just making a point - ANSWER THE FRIGGEN QUESTION & stop squirting around and immediately pointing the finger at another opponent .

  87. 87

one more thing, can we get Sarah Palin in on the fun…I want a good laugh!

  88. 88

If Perry gets elected will you promise us you'll leave the country? If so, I'll help you pack. It would be awesome to get rid of a self-righteous, morally depraved, uneducated hack like you. :D

  89. 89

Rick Perry IS a Bildeberger. He is part of the NWO crowd. Ron Paul 2012.

  90. 90

Why does Jesus hate Republicans? Why did Reagan raise taxes 7 times? Why do republicans hate anyyone who is not white and straight (or at least in the closet)?

I thought you stopped being a BULLY??!! Didn't you preach to stop bullying on some interview you gave that you nearly cried about how you felt bad that you talk shit about people?? Stop pushing your political opinion on a CELEBRITY blog.

  93. 93

I'm a native Texan… Born and raised, and I absolutely Loathe this rotten man.

  94. 94

Re: @v@ – Rick Perry has attended at least one Bilderberger meeting. The Bush family is related to all 15 families in the House of Windsor (Saxe-Coburg-Gotha). The Bush family are false Texans, false Connecticut residents, and New York would be the closest to their family blood and the fact that their great grandfather started a company called Zapata Oil in Texas. Their real allegiance are to Royal German Jews in Europe. (Saxe-Coburg-Gotha are the names of three particular provinces in Bavaria, GERMANY.) Skull & Bones is basically the American wing of the Illuminati.

  95. 95

    RICK PERRY FOR PRESIDENT!

  96. 96

Re: APowers89 – Look for heavy dirt from Perry's past to emerge. Most likely chosen by David Rockefeller to counter Ron Paul of Texas.

  97. 97

'Stellar college history' ? I have yet to check out his grades from college. However, if you're commenting on the university (Texas A&M) he attended, then you might want to know that it happens to be one of the top colleges in the US. Countless notable figures have attended A&M (not Bush), including Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates. As for Perry, I'd say his track record as governor is pretty stellar. Forty percent of the jobs created in this entire country come from Texas…while Texans only make up 10% of the country's population. I'm not pushing him, because I'm not a Republican, but I do give credit where it's due. Maybe you should too Perez. I understand the importance of equal rights, but at the rate Obama is going, no one will be able to take advantage of those rights considering that everyone is broke.
