Dear La Amada Hotel…THIS SUCKS!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GaySad Sad

Absolutely deplorable!

We're disgusted to report that a gay couple planning to get married on a "vacation wedding" at the luxurious, five-star La Amada Hotel in Mexico were apparently told by the staff, via letter, that they would not be allowed to do so on their property!

According to the e-mail:

"Dear [redacted], Thank you for your interests for La Amada Hotel. Being a family friendly resort, we unfortunately cannot support or perform a gay wedding. I understand you want to have a small intimate ceremony, but we cannot proceed."

Unbelievable!

Oh, how silly of us! We forget that two adults in love and wanting to celebrate that with a ceremony impedes upon the resort's ability to be "family-friendly!"

Oh wait. IT DOESN'T.

Everyone involved in this decision should be absolutely ashamed of themselves, and we sincerely hope that their potential clientele take SERIOUS notice of this kind of behavior!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

Ha ha ha!!! This is great. People are rejecting your perversions Mario. We simply don't like gays. Deal with it. Michelle Bachmann had a big win in Iowa. When she gets elected, that will be the end of gay marriage in the US. A better future is on the way.

  2. 2

Well from the hotel's point of view, having a gay wedding isn't family friendly. Many parents don't want their kids to see two members of the same sex getting married because they, the parents, don't approve…..obviously. That's going to hurt their business…..and that's the bottom line.
P.S. Perez- stop posting this gay propaganda bullshit….you have like 4 other websites- just make one for this crap and stop posting it on your CELEBRITY BLOG website.

  3. 3

La Amanda Hotel in Mexico is privately owned, which means they can do whatever they want. Just like your website is privately owned by you, Perez, and you're free to write whatever you want. Same thing.

  4. 4

Would that have even been legal for them to get married in Mexico?? I thought that's what they were fighting so hard for in the U.S. and then they go to Mexico to get married?? Looks like they're doing it backwards….

  5. 5

You're an idiot Perez. They refused the couple in a kind and polite way. You have your views and they're allowed to have theirs. Quit pushing your homo agenda onto everyone. The world doesn't revolve around your views. Gays aren't the only thing being discriminated against. There's bigger world issues to be fighting over than a gay couple who can't marry at a hotel in Mexico. Perhaps you should educate yourself on the world and stop reading you "how to be a homo handbook". And yes, not that this matters but I'm a gay male.

  6. 6

Re: Mad Dog – I am afraid you might be right. If Bachmann wins, discrimination will be policy, and we can look forward to an era of hate and fear.

  7. 7

I still find it frigging hilarious that they preach about being open minded but if someone disagrees with gays they sit there and demand they get fired, find it appalling, deplorable,sad,etc,etc..

Well I find it appalling, deplorable and disgusting that one guy will suck another guys dick.

  8. 8

Can I point out that Mexico is quite a religious country. I Have holidays there many times with my hubby and never get any hassle. If the resort dont want to have a gay wedding, its their choice. They are not being homophobic at all.

  9. 9

i dont hate gays but i am against same sex marriage. if they dont allow gay marriage, you have to respect that. the bible doesn't allow it either. you have to live with it!

  10. 10

Daayum! Everyone is anti-Perez. It must take its toll on him after awhile.

  11. 11

Bigger question is, Where in Mexico? Only few States see Same-sex marriage as legal, most don't! Truth hurts! No te hagas el puto gringo Perez, a perame, ya lo eres! Todo te molesta y todo es un puto pedo - - como complicas las cosas!!!

  12. 12

This is wonderful. I am so glad to see that there are people and companies who still have the backbone and the morals to stand up against the filthy gay community.

    13

What is today Gay Rights Day, or what? You've been posting this shit all damn day.

  14. 14

just because you WANT to do something doesn't make it right.

  15. 15

Re: unique01234 – Take your bible and stick it up your ass!

  16. 16

I believe in gay equality. I also believe in serve who you want, as long as your not taking public funds, which now a days w/ all the subsudies and tax exclusions is hard to find. Get another cause and promote the hotel that takes this wedding. Let people make up their own mind. The gvt has to be fair but you can't brainwash the masses.

  17. yeez says – reply to this

    17

Re: Beautiful Disaster311 – Yeah, I thought that too. They've taken their annoying, pushy rhetoric to Mexico. When I travel outside of the United States, I have to follow the laws and customs of wherever the hell I am. Apparently gay people are above that concept.

  18. 18

Perez, stop forcing your view on everyone. It's a choice on whether a person approves gay marriage or not. Not everyone is going to be gay. And hey! If everyone was gay, do you know what would happen? Hmm, oh nothing other than the fact that there would be no reproduction therefore the human population would die off? Ehh, no biggie. Seriously, I don't mind gays, but it really gets to me when they really push their views in your face and EXPECT you to accept it. BS, that's not how it works.

  19. 19

Re: Mad Dog – YES IT IS……

  20. 20

There's really no argument on this, do I like their decision? No, but as a privately owned business they aren't obligated to support your beliefs. It just as easily could have been some other sort of religious ceremony that they refused.

  21. SF90 says – reply to this

    21

They denied them out of respect for the other people staying at the hotel. The hotel might not have anything against gays but other guests might, which is what the hotel has to think about. Ever thought about that Perez?

  22. 22

Hey tool "EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL! " Should also apply to the hotel, private business has rights too.

  23. 23

How dare a private hotel in Mexico have their own beliefs. Don't they know that having beliefs is "deplorable". What is the world coming to when every single person does not share perez's gay agenda. ugh.

  24. Rohan says – reply to this

    24

Great celebrity news, not from concentrate!

  25. 25

Re: GayRay – i dont hate gay but i think you're a very disrespectful gay. i pity you.

  26. 26

Hey fuckwad-this IS Mexico you're talking about.
Home of lizard tacos, drug tunnels, curly boots and idiocy in general.
Oh, yea, wait, it's also a HUGELY Catholic COUNTRY as well. As much as you want it to be, it's NOT the US. Many Mexican states don't even have Domestic Violence laws and you want them to recognize gay marriage?????? Bahahahahahahaha!
Oh, It's a privately-owned hotel in an ENTIRELY different country. Get over yourself and your glaring GAY-OVER-EVERYTHING-ELSE Agenda. You make us all ill, lace-boy.

  27. 27

    Re: SF90
you say "Ever thought about that Perez? " clearly he never does think. Knee jerk reaction,,, Gay = good —- anything he determines is anti-gay = bad . Anyone who expresses opinions as if they were facts is an ignorant asshole( imnsho) Perez is as big a tool as Bachmann is.

  28. 28

i agree!!! Enough with all the Gay propaganda. You're gay we get it. be grateful you don't live in a society where gays are beaten, stoned or worse hung. So rather than pissing and moaning about how awful it is coz SOME people don't accept your lifestyle and don't want it shoved in their faces, accept that ROME wasn't built in a day. GnLs are what maybe 1% of the population. Now you want to change the mind of all 99% of the people over night. Get a grip of yourself and take it easy. the GnL community has HOLLYWOOD. Isn't that enough. You can't have it all.

    rascie

What is freaking wrong with you? I hope to god YOU get the beating you deserve.

  30. 30

    Re: unique01234

Shove your pity up your A hole closet case.

  31. 31

    this is off their website.
    *
La Amada is a romantic resort that caters to couples.
Whether you’re planning a Cancun wedding, going on a honeymoon, celebrating an anniversary, or just having a romantic getaway, La Amada Hotel in Playa Mujeres is the right choice for you.
    *
maybe they should add "La Armada Hotel is the right choice for you, unless of course you are gay". i wish these anti gay establishments would at least have the balls to live up to their bigotry and flat out state they will not be offering the same services to everyone. it would be helpful if these companies listed the groups of people they would rather not patronize their business. that way it would be easier for people to decide if they want to spend their hard earned money on a company that doesn't believe in equality. seriously shameful in this day and age.

  32. 32

    Re: unique01234

Jesus hate you! There is not God. LOL

  33. 33

    Re: chloenickolson

    God hates you as*hole.

  34. 34

Re: Mad Dog – YOU SUCK. BACHMANN HAS A CHANCE OF WINNING ABOUT AS MUCH AS I DO! ESPECIALLY WITH THOSE VIEWS (IF WHAT U SAY IS TRUE) SO DRINK SOME MORE MAD DOG, MAD DOG. P.S. I ORDINARILY LIKE SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS, BUT TODAY I AM ASHAMED OF YOU. I NEVER THOT U WOULD BE RACIST.

  35. 35

I truly believe that most gay bashers are closet cases. Or, they will call themselves bisexual. Which is a load of crap. It's ok you can come out of the closet. Lot's of repressed Republicans end up diddling children. Not good. Come out…

  36. 36

Re: AttFinch – Why should they post it on their website? This couple asked the hotel if they could get married on their property, and the hotel very politely responded "no". If you wanted to throw a major party there and asked their permission ahead of time, and they politely responded with a 'no, it would be disruptive to our other guests", then fine. They don't need to post that on their website. There are thousands of one-off situations that come up that need to be asked ahead of time by potential guests and it's not required for the hotel to print or post any of the potential situations. It's a private hotel and they can refuse service or "a service" to anyone they like. Just like your home is private, and you can allow or not allow anything you want within your own home. They chose not to allow this and that's their right. They handled the situation quite gracefully and they weren't rude or disrespectful in their response. What's a shame is that you haven't learned how to do the same.

  37. 37

You're right, Perez. It is sad that this still happens and the whole "consideration for other guests" seems bullshit to me. A gay couple is not offensive in the least and parents shouldn't be trying to "protect" their children against it. It's merely a declaration of love between two people and shouldn't be treated as anything different than a straight wedding. But hey, in Mexico gay marriage is only legal in Mexico City, which is a pretty big deal for such a Catholic country. If the hotel was not in the capital, they would have been breaking the law, so the hotel probably had no choice there. Give it time. Even in Mexico the gay scene is huge and there's tons of supporters. You should not stop posting these things, I love reading about them. It is not ok when this happens, even though it's still unsurprising. Yes, we should respect people's beliefs, but how about we try not to let those beliefs affect others negatively. Condemn gays all you want, but if it doesn't affect you whether somebody you don't know gets married or not, stop being a dick about it.

I am just amazed by how many right wing readers you have!!

  38. 38

THERE IS NO GOD. When you true believers die you will end up being just dead rotting meat.

  39. 39

Re: chloenickolson – HOW SAD FOR YOU AND ALL THE REST OF YOU ON HERE HATING THE GAYS. HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN RACIST? AND DON'T TELL ME ITS NOT RACISM CAUSE IT IS, WHEN YOU ARE AGAINST HUMAN BEINGS FOR THEIR BELIEFS THEN THAT MAKES U RACIST. SHAME SHAME SHAME. U ALL ARE PROBABLY ANIMAL ABUSERS ALSO YA HAVE TO BE WITH VIEWS LIKE YOURS. OH AND BY THE WAY, IM NOT GAY JUST OLD AND ON OXYGEN AND NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN CORRAL THE HOMOPHOBICS IN THIS WORLD, JUST AS I WOULD CORRAL PEOPLE WHO R RACISTS AGAINST COLOR. GOT THE POINT, WHAT A BUNCH OF KINDERGARTNERS. JEEZ LOUISE. I WISH THERE WAS A LAW THAT WOULD BAND RACISTS FROM LIVING IN THIS COUNTRY, THERE PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE ANYONE LEFT, CEPT FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR AND THE GAYS. HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. 40

    Re: Meggie246624

And it's our right to hate YOU.

  41. 41

Re: hubwoof – Being opposed to a sexual perversion is not racism. As far as Michelle Bachmann getting elected, she's the front runner in the Republican field (granted it's early) and Obama probably won't get reelected if the economy doesn't improve. The Tea Party is poised to take the White House.

  42. 42

Re: Meggie246624 – Yes, they handled it politely and gracefully - just like country clubs that not so long ago politely and gracefully said 'no' to Jewish applicants. They have a right to be homophobic just like those clubs had the right to be anti-semitic. What you say makes sense and is correct, but the tone of your message is that discrimination is perfectly acceptable. Is that what you really think?

  43. 43

    Re: Mad Dog

I think you mind is perverted. Bachman's husband is a closet case just like you are.

  44. 44

Re: jess1z1 – THEY DON'T COME HERE TO READ HIS POSTS, THEY COME TO CALL HIM NAMES AND SAY DISGUSTING, FILTHY SHIZZ TO HIM. IT'S JUST SAD THAT THEY CAN PICK ON ONE PERSON (PEREZ) WITH SUCH FEROCITY AND CALL THEMSELVES HUMAN. NOT TRUE MORONS. THERE'S A SPECIAL PLACE FOR ALL U HATERS, YOU'LL SEE……………

  45. 45

Re: Mad Dog – AND IM ALL FOR THE REPUBLICANS, BUT STILL STAND BY WHAT I SAID IT IS RACISM WHEN IT'S AGAINST PEOPLE. GAYS DIDN'T "CHOOSE" TO BE GAY, JUST LIKE BLACK OR BROWN PEOPLE DIDN'T CHOOSE THEIR COLOR. SO I REST MY CASE.

  46. 46

Perez, If a privately owned business in a historically religious country wants to deny a gay couple entrance (wedding) it is their choice!!! STOP, STOP, STOP, STOP using this blog as a means to stick up our assess this gay rights propaganda!!! It is becoming absolutely annoying. I for one hardly stop by this site as often as i did in the past.

  47. 47

I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO MARRY WHO EVER THEY CHOOSE…..AND I THINK BUSSINESS OWNERS SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO MARRY WHO EVER THEY WANT….SO SHUT THE FUCK UP MARIO AND STOP MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT EVERYTHING…

  48. 48

Re: Mad Dog – when she looses I hope your fingers burn and you cannot type any more bullsh%t here

  49. 49

I agree this is terrible but the way you report this shit is DEPLORABLE (please stop using that word). You not doing anything for your cause whatsoever. Please stop.

  50. 50

Re: raypearson – i totally agree!

  51. 51

PEREZ………..ME THINKS U OPENED UP A GIGANTIC CAN OF HUGE AZZ WORMS. THE SUCKERS ARE ALL OVER MY KEYBOARD, GOTTA TAKE A BREAK AND TURN UP THE OXYGEN!! THANKS FOR STAYING STRONG THROUGH ALL THE HATE THEY PUT U THROUGH EVERYDAY. SO JUST REMEMBER, U HAVE MORE PRO'S THAN CON'S IN YOUR LIFE!!

  52. 52

Its MEXICO! They might be lucky to escape with their lives.

  53. 53

Re: hubwoof – Racism? A "race" is defined as heritable phenotypic characteristics or geographic ancestry. Homosexuals are not a "race", therefore, it's inaccurate to describe anyone who does not support the gay agenda with the term "racism", "racist" or any other root variation.

  54. 54

    Re: Meggie246624 – well said.

  55. 55

Re: boston61 – Feel free. I don't hate you. And I support gay rights and gay marriage (in fact, I stood up for my best friend at his marriage). What I also support is private businesses being able to run their businesses as they choose. It's a shame you're not open minded and can process multiple perspectives. Linear thinking such as your is narrow minded and exclusive.

  56. 56

They probably don't want to upset their business i guess : /

  57. 57

Re: Alexandre26 – She won't lose to Obama. His failure with the ecomony has seen to that.

  58. 58

    Re: Casndra – i agree

  59. 59

Re: Meggie246624 – @ 53 - Good on you for trying, but you are replying to an imbecile who wants to use the word irrespective of its meaning.

  60. 60

Re: Meggie246624 – WELL LAUDIE FUCHING DAU, WE HAVE A BOOKWORM ON BOARD. YA NEED TO LOOK A …little… FURTHER, CAUSE I STILL STAND BY WHAT I SAID. IT STILL RACISM IN MY BOOK AND AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS CAUSE YOUR WASTING MY TIME. WHAT THE FUCH DOES IT MATTER ANYWAY, APPARENTLY YOUR BOOKS DIDN'T TEACH YOU TO "GET THE POINT" THAT PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO MAKE, NOT DISECT IT JUST CAUSE YA CAN. EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT I MEAN. YOUR A LIBRARIAN AREN'T U? TEE HEE

  61. 61

you all know very well that perez is gay so if you dont wan to here his views then dont visi his site there are plenty of other gossip sites to visit that would probably accomodate your views!

  62. 62

That hotel sucks and so do most of these comments. People are crazy. Just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean that it gives you the right to deny people basic rights and respect. The "straights" have done more damage to the US and world than the gays ever did.

  63. 63

Re: hubwoof – No, I'm not a librarian. But I am educated and I can articulate my perspective in an intelligent and coherent manner. I'll reserve my input for others, as it's quite evident that you're unable to interact with me on my level, and it's too trite for me to have to dumb down my responses to monosyllabic words so that you can comprehend. Have a lovely day, and remember that there are many governmental support programs to assist challenged individuals such as you - I hope that your caretaker avails you of these services. :-)

  64. 64

Re: boston61 – Why don't you go down to Mexico and straighten this matter out in person? Better yet, take Perez with you. While you're down there, take some time away from the plush tourist hotels and get to know the real Mexicans. I'm sure that the impoverished masses, starving for their next meal will consider your gay rights agenda at the top of their priority list.

  65. 65

So suppose a father wants to marry his daughter at this hotel. They say no…is that wrong? If they "love each other" would that be considered "deplorable" I think its great that this hotel stood up for morals.

  66. 66

    Re: Meggie246624

I DO hate you Meggie. What's the matter? Are you fat? Do men reject you?

  67. 67

    Re: poodlewithamohawk

Not as important as YOUR straight rights correct?

  68. 68

Re: rosebud99 – Hi Rose: good question. In a nutshell, no I don't discriminate. I support gay marriage, my best friend is Muslim, my sister-in-law is Asian and I grew up in a very multi-culturally accepting environment. So while I personally support non-discrimination, I also understand that these situations are not black & white (no pun intended). Mexico is another country, one that also happens to be predominantly Catholic, and La Amada is a privately owned business. It takes baby steps for change to occur and this hotel is not in violation of any law at the moment. Right or wrong, it's challenging to separate private businesses' rights, religious rights and personal rights. The lines are blurred and in that business and in that country, the hotel is not in violation of private business rights, religious rights or law. Perhaps they're in violation of others' perspectives of morality and justice, but that's not their environment at the moment.

  69. 69

Re: boston61 – Oh boston. I actually feel sorry for you. You come across as a sixth grader who can't keep up with the other kids and out of personal insecurity, winds up yelling, "my dad can beat up your dad!". Best wishes to you.

  70. 70

    Re: Meggie246624

So you are fat and alone?

  71. 71

Re: Meggie246624 – I have to say that I'm a huge fan of your posts. You're one of the few posters that utilises correct grammar and spelling. Thank you for properly using our language and not abusing it as so many others seem to do.

  72. 72

    Re: Heaven_Oblivion_Bliss

HaHa. I hear YOU do it with your dog. FU bigot.

  73. 73

One of these days perez will realize that you cannot change peoples beliefs no more than you can change being gay. Push all you want It won't matter.

  74. 74

Re: Meggie246624 – I agree with what you are saying, but I also agree with Perez that these establishments should be pointed out so that people know that they are dealing with a business that practices discrimination.

  75. 75

Re: Serena Loves Mario – That was a nice thing to say, thanks.

  76. 76

i'm gay, and this makes plenty of sense to me. and hey, if they don't want them to get married their, why should they really care? there's plenty of other places that would be happy to perform their ceremony. i know it sucks, but when you're gay, a lot of things are just the way it is.

  77. 77

    Re: rosebud99 – That's a fair point. I understand that & agree with you.

  78. 78

Re: Meggie246624 – I also agree with your posts. This was a privately run business outside the US. I don't agree with it, but they can do whatever they like.

  79. 79

I'm happy to see that the vast majority of people commenting here have COMMON SENSE in seeing that a private business has the freedom to operate and cater to whoever they want.

  80. 80

Mario, this hotel is a private business. They set their own rules. No one should dictate to them on how to operate their business!

  81. 81

I am a fan or perezhilton.com and will visit it almost everyday (not that he isn't quite so rude). I am also a believe in same sex marriage and equal rite. Having said that there have been a few things that have been bothering me. 1. being his report of the riots in England and the other the almost forceful nature of his 'campaigning' for gay rights. maybe I live a very sheltered life but all the people I interact with have not a single issue with gay people. I start to feel uncomfortable when someone is always harping on about (insert minority here) rights. I would say 80% at least of the population know about the situation and do not need it rammed down their throats. For me personally it is very off putting. Maybe focus on major moment such at the first gay marriage in N.Y. but every little detail is irritating.

  82. 82

Although I am for equal rights, I may have thought twice about attempting a gay marriage in a country that is predominantly Catholic. Did they think there would be no resistance? Stupid. Go to Vermont or California.

  83. 83

    SHUT UP PEREZ

  84. 84

A privately owned hotel can make their own rules just as u can with your website…

  85. @v@ says – reply to this

    85

Some other hotel will be more than glad to take their and their guest's pesos.

  86. 86

The owner of this site can censor any comments he wishes, just as the owner of that hotel can censor it's clientel. You gays are not welcome everywhere, move on, it is not our duty to satisfy EVERYONE. Go to a 2-star hotel to pratice your perversions.

  87. 87

Re: toxic prince – Did they teach you how to spell in your gay school?

  88. 88

Re: @v@ – They have only the one guest, do they?

  89. 89

How Would You Feel If They Told You You Can't Get Married Here Cause Your Straight? Or Cause Your Black Or White? I Bet None Of You Would Be Happy With That, But Since Is About Gay People Then You All Find It Okay To Sit Behind Your Stupid Computers And Be Hateful!!!! I Understand That It's A Private Business But When You Have A Business You Can't Discriminate Against Sex, Race, Sexual Preference, Or Religion It's Just Unprofessional!!!! To Those Who Think That What The Hotel Did Was Okay I Hope You Have Son That Comes Out To Be The Biggest Cock Sucker Of All Time!!!

  90. 90

Re: JeanPR – I can't get married in a Jewish synagogue because I'm not Jewish. I can't attend a Masonic Lodge meeting because I'm female. I can't play golf at the private clubs in my city because I'm not a member. I can't take my bra & shirt off in public if it's hot outside because I'm a female. I can't go into a mosque unless my face is covered. I can't use the men's washroom. I can't take eucharist in a church because I was never confirmed. I can't play in the NFL because I'm female. If I were in a wheelchair, I wouldn't be permitted to be an active firefighter. If I were blind, I wouldn't be able to pilot a plane. If I was mentally challenged, I wouldn't pass the SATs and wouldn't be accepted into college or university. If I had a criminal record, I couldn't be a police officer. The world is full of things we're allowed to do and things we're not. Is it fair? No. But that's the way it is. And the way it is at La Amada is that they have the right to refuse a service to anyone they like. They didn't say the couple couldn't stay as guests, they said they would not permit a marriage to occur on their property. Perhaps the next time you'd like to express your opinion, you could do so without shouting in Caps At The Beginning Of Every Word, and not lower yourself to using profanity. It certainly doesn't lend any credibility to your position when you do so.

  91. 91

Re: Meggie246624 – first of all my home is not a business and secondly why not post it. businesses in the past would post no blacks allowed, no jews allowed, why not no gays allowed. i respect people and companies more who are at least up front about their hatred. and how would they know it would be disruptive to their guests? what, every time a straight couple or family checks in do they ask them if they are offended by gay people. it was obviously homophobic and if you agree with what they did thats fine. just own up to it. i remember a time when americans would stand together to fight this kind of bigotry but now people seem to defend it. sure you can say "it's their right to do it cause it's a private hotel", or it's "just their opinion and everyone has a right to their opinion", or "it's against their religion" but no matter how you try to spin it it's still hatred, bigotry, and prejudice, and it's still upsetting, sad, and disturbing.

  92. 92

oh thankfully there is still some sanity left in the world

  93. @v@ says – reply to this

    93

    Re: Cashmere Jay – It doesn't say how many, but, ok, guests' pesos. ; }

  94. 94

I stayed at La Amada at Thanksgiving. This letter really surprises me as a majority of the guests were gay families. Really. Too bad the hotel hasn't recognized who their clientele is.

  95. 95

I'm for gay marriage, but the people who own the hotel have rights too. They have every right in the world to refuse service if they want. It's their business not yours. You seem to forget that straight people have rights too.

  96. 96

Re: Meggie246624 – Thank God there are at least a few smart people on here. Very well said Meggie.

  97. 97

How is being gay NOT family friendly. Gays are/have families too!

  98. 98

It's their hotel, they can deny service to anyone they want and I support that right.

  99. 99

So I kind of just wanted to say… Regardless of this story, does anyone else think peoples opinions on gays not being allowed to marry is somewhat ridiculous? I feel like we're going to look back 30 years from now and be like "WTF were we thinking??" It's almost as stupid as interracial couples not being allowed to marry, and that was what, like 40 years ago?

Get with the times. The bible says a lot of things. And I'm pretty sure human rights should take prescidence over religion any day (and I'm catholic — For all you people that will think I'm a religion hater)

  100. 100

I love how all these people are saying that 'this business is private therefore it clearly means that it has the right to make it's own choices'
    - This thinking is the exact same thinking that the Germans had of the Jews, starting around 1915 when Nazi propaganda began, when they weren't allowed to eat at 'clean pure german' establishments which continued into the 30's and 40's until over 1 million people were murdered. The Idea of a private establishment not welcoming others in is the same view that Southern United states had, when 'black' people had to use the BACK DOOR, and had to use a SEPARATE entrance, or just not eat at certain places at all. Hmmm. Lets deny a Gay service now. It's totally different and is NOTHING of the same manner right? Private businesses can reject whomever they want as long as they have religious reasons. Religion has ALWAYS done WONDERFUL things throughout history! Good call everyone.. not.
