New Footloose Trailer Hits The Web!

| Filed under: Music MinuteFilm Flickers

Guess one just wasn't enough!

After many complained that the theatrical trailer released for the updated version of Footloose followed too closely to the plot of the original, a second version has been released, featuring more scenes with new leads Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough!

Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

Definitely LOVING the energy here!

We'll be curious to see how this holds up, though!

The original is a CLASSIC!

What do U think?? Are U looking forward to Footloose?

ou can't remake Footloose or any movie like it from the 1980's because what made those films cult classics was that fact that it was FROM the 1980's….. For that reason alone the "cheese factor" and the cliches are totally acceptable, but in 2011 a remake with actors from reality dancing shows and the WB network will only make a mockery - next thing you know they will remake Flashdance! Really? Really!

Original ideas don't exist in Hollywood. I'm sure there's an army of great writers with great stories. But the decision makers don't know what to do with them.

It sure seems like an exact replica of the first, I am curious to see if the current generation will enjoy it. Like Re: brat93111 – it has a lot of cheese to it which was eighties (and makes me kind of cringe remembering it) I was actually hoping for something really different, but oh well. I love Julianne Hough, she is a brilliant dancer and a beautiful girl (with some very cute puppies), I am curious to see if she can hold the movie together. And after Footloose, and Dirty Dancing there is sure to be Flash Dance… it's inevitable.

No thanks. I'll stick with TCM and rent new movies that might have a chance of being somewhat entertaining.

I wouldn't mind if they replaced the old soundtrack with new songs. The original Footloose song by Kenny Loggins was a pain to hear everywhere. A song you really could get tired of hearing. Maniac isn't far behind.

Re: Obnoxious_Joe – Forgot to mention, Maniac is from Flashdance…

I'm sorry but this looks bad. The acting is bad. The aged cheese factor is bad. Trying to remake a cult classic is bad. Ugh, I felt dirty after watching that trailer. it's just… BAD!

#sosickofremakes there are too many. hopefully this a trend that comes and GOES. Re: Ultraworld – cosign, I find it very hard to believe that with 7 billion people on the planet, they can't find a writer with an original interesting storey to make a movie out of.

Re: Obnoxious_Joe – Agree on the old songs; overdone. The new movie doesn't replace the old one, which most haven't seen today. It'll seem new for this generation.

It looks terrible. I'm really getting tired of remakes and tween movies. Hollywood needs some new blood and fast… remakes and sequels can't sustain them forever.

  13. 13

    Annnnnnnnnnnnd… MEGA-BOMB!!

  14. 14

why are they using a song by the kills in the trailer? why not music from the movie??

  15. 15

No justice to Kevin Bacon with this guy. Lame.

  16. 16

Wait a minute. This is from the same guy who made Hustle & Flow? WTF. Really? He can't get $$ from a studio to write and direct an original script?! I can't even believe that anyone thought it was a good idea to remake this movie. Footloose. Seriously? And it looks like a scene-for-scene remake -which is soooo boring! This will probably be about as good as Gus Van Sant's remake of Psycho. Which is to say it's gonna SUCK.

  17. 17

You'd Be suprised but I actually went to an early screening for this movie back in May and It was actually pretty good and I'm the type of person that hates remakes and I stick to the Originals but this movie was actually pretty good, not like the original but still good! So I say you guys go check it out!

  18. 18

Looks stupid! I can't stand Julianna Hough, she talks so babyish with the acting capacity of Jessica Simpson! I can't believe they are remaking this movie. It's super cheesy!

  19. 19

Re: poodlewithamohawk – Then please tell me which ones those are. Besides Toy Story 3, the last time I went to the movies was for the 2nd Transformers, and I fell asleep! I mean, I've seen a couple of new indie flicks that were good. But besides that, it seems that everything out in the theaters now is total garbage.

  20. 20

    Whyyy :(
    The lead actor is cute.

  21. 21

I'm only going to see it because of Julianne Hough (and of course Dennis Quaid)!

The original is definitely a classic. The soundtrack alone!! SJP, Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer & Chris Penn. Classic!!

  22. 22

    I just watched a trailer to watch a trailer…

  23. 23

ill watch, probably wait til it comes to HBO but ill still watch it. Wished they would have modernized it a little and done something new

  24. 24

Isn't it sad how these hollywood 'talent' people can't seem to come up with anything new and have to keep remaking and remaking and remaking the classics. Footloose, Dirty Dancing, Bewitched. I swear, If they fucking touch Breakfast at Tiffany's, shits gonna go down.
