Patti Smith Memoir Getting The Movie Treatment

| Filed under: Music MinuteFilm FlickersBookz

patti smith memoir becoming a movie

Exciting news for Patti Smith fans!

According to new reports, a movie version of Patti Smith's memoir Just Kids is in the works.

The book revolves around Patti's life with deceased photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, and it explores "how they inspired each other to become leaders in their fields."

Gladiator screenwriter John Logan will be collaborating with Patti on the project, which we're thinking bodes very well!

Previously, Patti Smith's life was explored in Steven Sebring's documentary film Patti Smith: Dream of Life. Should definitely be interesting to see what new insights about the artist come to the surface with this one!

Will U check out the movie adaptation of Patti's memoir when it comes out?

YES! Finally a book adaptation worth making. All depends on the casting now, but with Patti etc. involved - should be golden.

you gotta know your roots if you listen to any kind of female rock.. punk… punk rock… etc. Patti Smith is it. She's the freakin godmother of punk!!! I'm so happy to see her putting out a new album (although it is not new songs) because kids will have a chance to rediscover her! :)
