Rick Santorum Says Horrendous Things About The Gays Once Again!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayPolitikSad Sad

rick santorum disgusting

We've got some winning republican presidential candidates this year, don't we???

Hopefully you were able to detect the sarcasm there, because we are NOT happy with quite a few candidates, and we're especially disgusted with Rick Santorum for once again running his mouth about the gays!

This time, Santorum felt the need to announce to the world that he believes the Declaration of Independence's "pursuit of happiness" does NOT apply to the gays! Horrible!

Here's what he had to babble say about it during a campaign stop on Friday:

"Every speech I give, I talk about the Declaration of Independence, where rights come from God. That's where they come from in this country. It's different than any other country in the history of the world. We said our rights come to each and every one of us from God. That is the source of our power to govern. Yes, the consent of the governed, but where do the people get the power from which to exercise? It's in keeping and trying to pass laws that is consistent with God's law. God gives you the rights. He doesn't give them to you and says, 'Do whatever you want.' He gave them to you and said… Well, look at later on in the Declaration they refer to nature and nature's God. That we are to live by the natural law and God's laws."

"That is what when they talked about the 'pursuit of happiness.' If you go back and read the definition in Webster at the time of the Declaration, or certainly thereafter, what 'happiness' was defined as doing good. Doing good, doing what is moral. So the pursuit of something ordered and morally good is what our founders were saying."

"Which is in other words living your life consistent – taking those rights and living them consistent with God's law. That was the goal and the aim of America. Someone has to speak out and remind Americas who we are. Someone has to get up and we have to say that America, as I said last night, is a moral enterprise."

And here's what Santorum had to say regarding his opposition to same-sex marriage during a debate on Thursday:

"I respect the 10th Amendment. But we are a nation that has values. We are a nation that was built on a moral enterprise. And states don't have a right to tramp over those because of the 10th Amendment."

Wow, Rick. We are both terrified and disgusted that you could potentially be our next President. Your thought process is extremely close-minded and warped.

Deplorable isn't even a strong enough word. Ugh.

Oh for Christs sake get over it ! We cant all love gays. If some people think it´s wrong so let them .. I am sick and tired of people reacting this way when a person speaks his or her mind .. We are different and thank God for that .. I don´t hate gay people, but I don´t LOVE LOVE LOVE them either. So stop with this.
He could be close-minded OR you could be too open-minded ! You´re not the only person in the world with an opinion. Deal with it ..

  2. 2

thats unfortunate, so close-minded.. PEREZ FOR PREZ! 2012 :)

  3. 3

thats unfortunate, and talk about close-minded gentlemen, PEREZ FOR PREZ 2O12!

  4. 4

If I took a shot for everytime you used the word "deplorable" in a day I would be so fucking wasted.
Also, I have nothing against homosexuality but it doesn't bother me when someone has a different opinion as me when it comes to the matter. This man has his opinions and I have mine, if we all had the same views we would be robots.

  5. 5

Um..where does he say ANYTHING about gays in that excerpt?? Are you sure your not being a little oversensitive lol

  6. 6

your intolerance and hatred should grow like a cancer bigger and bigger each day

  7. 7

"the Declaration of Independence, where rights come from God…" "…taking those rights and living them consistent with God's law. That was the goal and the aim of America."
This man clearly knows NOTHING about history or the Founding Fathers.
Re: vishusvixen – I didn't see the reference to gays either. Maybe Perez should have done a bit more copying and pasting. He was discussing the 10th Amendment, which states, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

  8. 8

    Damn Christian Taliban!

  9. 9

There is no God. Simple as that.

  10. 10

He and others like him only want happiness for themselves…I find it suspect when people try to limit everyone else's life. Everytime you point your finger at ssomeone else you hae three pointing back at you!

  11. 11

get over it & stick with your stupid /made-up stories on this site. if you wanna boody-bang, keep on doing it. I'm sick of you and this gay crapola agenda. keep it up and I'll vote for him! and for the record, I say to each their own…. just DON'T do that shyt in front of me! I do not wanna see two dudes swapping spit in public.

  12. 12

Re: boogiewoogie – And I'm sure everyone enjoys watching your fat, flabby redneck ass kiss your significant other in public…

Funny how perez acts so high and mighty yet not too long ago he'd draw dicks and cum all over everyone and everything.

  14. 14

I happen to be a Log Cabin Republican and am proud of it. While I am not happy at all with the selection of candidates so far, where does this excerpt refer to gays?

  15. mw says – reply to this

    15

Remember when you bitched about Obama and I said keep talking and you'll get yourself a nice tea party President? Obama is certainly not ideal but the FAR lesser of 2 evils. Some of these candidates are just despicable..

  16. 16

America: freedom of speech, as long as no one is offended. Get over it.

  17. 17

Re: boogiewoogie – Where do you live, fuck face? Me and my boyfriend want to cum over and have a three-way with you.

  18. 18

Re: dorkey – It's in the subtext, retard.

  19. 19

Re: Mother B – Subtext? No. There's nothing in this about gay people. You and Mario are reading between the lines; you're putting a spin on it that might not be right. Unless this guy comes out and says "I hate gays and they should have no rights," you and Perez don't have the right to put words into his mouth. Would you like it if it was done to you? No. Subtext … that's pretty f*cking funny. To assume that all Republicans are against gays is like assuming that all gays are liberal twats who over-react and bully at the merest hint of disapproval. If Santorum makes a definitive anti-gay statement, then stomp his ass. Until then, please stop buying into Mario's hate. It's bad enough that his self-loathing is so public … we don't need another one just like him.

  20. 20

so it's okay for you to have the right to run your mouth about the gay agenda.. but if someone disagrees then they are a horrible person??? Such double standard Perez.. if you should have the right to push gay agendas then others should have the right to not.. After all isn't this America??? Free Speech douche!!! Get over yourself!!

  21. 21

Yes, we know what he was referring to. Based on his past he isn't to kind to the gay community. But as was previously stated by others , you can not make everyone join in with your opinion on how the world should be. Perfect worlds don't and never will exist!

  22. 22

I'm a proud gay man and I support Rick Santorum!

  23. 23

Don't be so obtuse people, can you really not read between the lines here? Everyone is entitled to their opinion but they should shut up about it in a public forum. Politics is not supposed to be a platform to spread a hateful, prejudicial agenda. Stick to to issues and leave the God stuff out of it.

  24. 24

Not everyone is going to be happy. Gay or Straight. You need to get on another "soap box" because you are driving most of your "readers" crazy with this continuous complaining. MOVE on. Perhaps that's the big news your going to tell us next month?

  25. 25

For what it is worth, you're naive to think campaign rhetoric is an example of what happens when an elected official starts to govern. I wish there were true political principles that were clear and transparent. There are not, just a bunch of snake oil salesmen at the moment whipping up a frenzy. No 1 government official has any power, we have the power through public actions and our ability to vote. Mario get over your shock and awe at people… make some actual changes in your own day, and help advocacy - and the subtext here is shut the f up, cause you do more harm than good.

    26

Shouldn't the disturbing thing here be that a man running for the presidency of a secular nation is saying that the declaration of independence is somehow a religious document?

  27. 27

I'm all for Gay rights- but I really think Perez is doing more harm then good by constantly posting these stories. This is a celeb site and people come to read about the celebrity gossip, not political platforms. This site rarely posts celebrity news anyway; and when it does its always copied from other blog sources. Perez seems to just be pissing off people and making them shy away from supporting gay rights. He should devote a section of this site just to politics and leave the main platform of this site centered around celebrity news. I browse several different gossip sites- and I can 100% say, Perez misses a lot of good stories. Its like he has his select group of celebs to report on and thats it, but there are a bunch of other celebs doing newsworthy (some good and some bad) stuff that I'm sure people would rather read about on a CELEB based site.

  28. 28

i re-read his quote.. and honestly unless the question he was asked dealt directly with gays.. I don't think he is saying anything horrendous about gays at all. In fact, I don't even see any mention of gay's in this quote.. am I missing something?

  29. 29

Re: bp3yah – I just threw up in my mouth…

  30. 30

Wow, this is really disturbing. Someone needs to remind him that this is a secular country. What about separation of church and state? Also several of the founding fathers were deists, not christians, so saying that the Declaration of Independence claims our rights are god-given is just factually flat out wrong.

  31. 31

Face it Perez… your flaming a$$ isn't for anyone that wouldn't support you sucking c*ck on a street corner… GET OVER IT. You are the type of person that keeps things so adversarial… most people could care less about stuff til you try to shove it in their face….

  32. 32

    Re: JasonDiggy

    idiot!!!

  33. 33

    Re: MichelleInWonderland

    bigger idiot.

  34. 34

I think I'll Google Santorum and find out what it really means!

  35. 35

What a bunch of fucking retards on this site. It isn't an issue of " freedom of speech," it is concerning because this person is running to be the next president of America so his opinions will directly influence policy and law. Your grandma saying she hates gay people is one thing, the possible future POTUS saying gays shouldn't have rights is a whole other ball game. Jesus Christ, do you idiots ever actually read anything other than this site? You should be VERY fucking concerned about the opinions of those running for public office. I think my head just exploded from the sheer stupidity being displayed here.

  36. 36

Hey…here's an idea…don't vote for him if you don't like him! I'm going to have to agree with several posts, Perez, just relax a bit and let him have his views. Yes, it's important b.c he's running for President, but again, DON'T VOTE FOR HIM IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIM. To be honest, Perez, you're being closed minded in the fact you aren't accepting people for their beliefs and think only you are right. I'm for gay rights but I don't judge anyone for NOT being for them…that's why we live in America…to be free to believe our own beliefs!

  37. 37

Re: bp3yahRe: JulinaKingRe: JulinaKing – Thank you so much for clarifying that for me. I'll be sure to remind my 9 year old son and my 15 year old daughter that they shouldn't hate people of color, people who are gay and people that are just plain old different from them…but that it IS o.k. to not "love, love, love" (i believe thats how you put it…) anyone who is gay, a person of color or anyone who is simply different than they are. Furthermore, to save them from the tedious and lest we forget, time consuming task of actually getting to know someone on an individual basis, they should just not "love, love, love" (is that how u put it?) anyone who is different from them, on the whole and as entire group. So glad I stopped by, you ignorant simpleton…You are what is wrong with the world today.

  38. 38

Re: meister – No, you are wrong. Santorum's quote doesn't say anything about Christianity or any other religion. You are right that a good portion of the founders were deists, but that means that they did believe in a supreme being. If you've read John Locke, you'll understand the concept of natural rights. Each person's rights come directly from God. Before this, people thought right went from God to a king and the king ruled over the people. Also know, that I'm agnostic, but I accept this concept in order to preserve individual freedom and dignity.

  39. 39

Americans you seriously need to uphold your separation of church and state! You're lucky to have it (my country doesn't) so don't let people like this shit all over it!

  40. 40

so many people on here confuse me. 1. perez is gay so obviously he is going to have political postings regarding gay rights etc on this site. if you don't appreciate his opinion then go read somewhere else. 2. those of you who don't necessarily agree with what santorum and other republican tea party candidates' views on gay marriage is, but don't disagree argue that because they have different opinions than perez then they're wrong…but that isn't the point. gay people are just like straight people minus the fact that they're attracted to people of their same sex. these political candidates are looking to REDUCE/ELIMINATE rights of said gay people simply because they claim god doesn't allow it. i thought that church and state were separated? you cannot pick and choose which parts of the declaration of independence you want to follow..it is hypocritical and just plain wrong. perez isn't against these people because they have different opinions, he is against them because what they are saying is unethical. just replace gay with black or jew and you'll realize how unethical it really is

  41. 41

Wow, can you do some honest reporting for once? Seriously, he said NOTHING wrong about gays in his speech. YOU took his discussion of morality to mean homosexuality. You think homosexuality is the only immoral thing in the world that someone can reference to? Get off your high horse and stop putting words in people's mouth just to bash them, it's sickening.

  42. 42

    what a dick

  43. 43

Re: lolcat – Yes, some of us retards do read. I picked this up from my Monthly Children's Highlights:
    +++
"Obama is arguing that gay marriage should be handled at the state level, but the president’s fence straddling gives cover to opponents and removes his own much-needed moral authority from the debate", says Kerry Eleveld. From the Daily Beast.
    +++
So, when is Obama going to get off the fence? Funny how all the screeching is directed at Tea Baggers and the GOP. Let's face it. We have become a one party system. We are awash with idiots, cons and corruption. The Tea Baggers are a distraction and get far too much media attention.

  44. 44

Mr. Frothy Mix is unelectable and he knows it. However, spending campaign money to inflate his ego makes him feel much better….and frothier.

    Re: Mother B
Oh helll no, you are too dam fat & ugly. I wouldn't get caught anywhere with you, even with the lights off. No wonder you are banging a dude, no female would want your ugly azz. omg, your face is huge!
