The Beatles Lend Themselves To Anti-Piracy Ad In The UK

| Filed under: Music MinuteEtc.Paul McCartney

Hey guys, check out this Beatles-backed… ad?… short film?… that is in support of the Music Matters movement.

The Music Matters movement is an anti-piracy campaign that a lot of big names have gotten behind to make sure that artists are paid instead of having their music stolen!

The estate of iconic British band has pledged its support for the anti-piracy campaign Music Matters by sanctioning a special animated short film set to their recordings.

The U.K. campaign has already been endorsed by artists such as Blind Willie Johnson, The Jam, Nick Cave, Sigur Ros, Kate Bush, Elbow and Paloma Faith. In March it was extended to New Zealand and Australia.

Pretty cool idea linking the music to specific life moments, but do U think it gets the point across??

If anything - this will remind people of a few tracks they missed when DLing some of their songs. Not sure how this could curb piracy.
Don't worry Beatles, I won't steal any of your music - or buy it for that matter. Soooooo damn sick of hearing this band - let the music die already.

they should be playing that to Paul McCartney to stop touring and cashing in on the Beatles still.

Shouldn't their music be public domain at this point? I seriously doubt that when John, Paul, Mathew, Mark , and Luke wrote the stuff they had any intention of it paying for their great gradndaughter's 4th Rolls Royce. And who timetables their life's memories to just one band? Get over yourselves Beatles estate - they are not that big of a deal in most people's lives - it's just fucking music that most of us are sick to death of hearing.

The Beatles have allegedly sold over a billion albums to date, and they're still selling. I don't think they have really anything to worry about. On the other hand, a lot of today's artists aren't that lucky and will never accomplish what the Beatles have done in terms of sales.
