Girl Scouts Fight Back After City Stops Them From Selling Their Delicious Cookies

We're just going to tell you how this ends. They lost.

BUT, they put up a good fight!

After a couple of Girl Scouts from Hazelwood, MO were told to shut down their cookie-selling busines, the girls decided to fight back and sue.

Sisters Carolyn and Abigail Mills were just minding their own bizness, selling their Girl Scout cookies outside on their driveway, when a neighbor complained of noise and traffic. The girls were ordered to stop because they violated zoning restrictions. But that didn't stop them. Oh no…they went to the city and applied for a business license like good little Girl Scouts. When they were refused a license though, they decided to sue the city.

Unfortunately, last Friday, the lawsuit was dismissed by the court, which means the girls won't be able to sell their cookies from their home, DENYING THE WORLD OF THOSE DELICIOUS THIN MINTS, SAMOAS, DO-SI-DOS, and so on…

Well, we guess it's a good thing, especially if they really were bothering the neighborhood. But, honestly, who could say no to Girl Scout cookies?!?

I love Girl Scout cookies. This sucks!

  3. 3

I would travel far and wide for those delicious, over priced cookies! Can't wait until February!!

  4. 4

this just means they cant sell them from their home… i always see girl scouts posted up at the walmart by the doors so,. the parents are just retarded to make a big deal about it. get over it and go somewhere else…uhghh i swear.. white people and their dumbass problems. ;) JK .

  5. 5

St. Louis is a big city… they'll find other areas to sell them. It is still ridiculous.

  6. 6

How many cookies were they really selling that would cause such an uproar. Neighbors are a$$hole$.

  7. 7

The whole point of selling those cookies for the Girl Scouts is they get OFF their asses and go door-to-door and engage the community and sell. NOT sit and open shop. Still, seems a little harsh… unless there were cars lined up like they do at Christmas in neighbourhoods with light displays- that's completely annoying for residents not participating- so I can get the annoyance.

  8. 8

Not sit 'at Home' and open shop, I meant to say. Get out there!

  9. 9

Why they hell where they sitting on their asses? Get up and go sell them you lazy girl scouts! that is what is wrong with them now. They don't do anything to earn them. They send Mommy & Daddy to work to sell them for them and now they just sit in their driveway expecting people to walk up to them and buy them. Jeez- lazy much?

  10. 10

Noise and traffic around a girl scout cookie operation? I can imagine. Those girl scout cookies are like crack!

  11. 11

Sounds like high class problems on both sides. Is this really important?

  12. 12

Who would have issues with girl scouts selling cookies?????????? c'mon they could have worked something out with the parents and not put in a complaint against them with the city. It's little kids!

  13. 13

GS cookies and fundraisers for school are supposed to be sold by the children going door to door. Nowadays they sit on their lazy asses and complain about not being able to get a business license and the parents take the forms to work. I don't buy that shit when the parents bring it to my job - lazy ass fucken kids………….

Re: chefkat – god forbid children these days do ANYTHING for themselves. America is going to hell in a handbasket and you can thank parents that only have children instead of raising them and the government being entirely too involved.

Re: April 20th – They have been advising children since I was in elementary school (I am now 22) not to go door to door and sell things. I still went door to door, and I know most everyone else did, but they do advise children not to do that. Not saying it's right or wrong, because I grew up in a small town where I knew everyone so it's hard for me to put myself in a situation of a big city, but I can understand not wanting my kids to go door to door. I have also noticed that when they are posted up at the grocery stores, it's usually the parents doing most of the talking, which defeats the purpose. Kind of a flawed system I suppose when they are just trying to win trips to Hawaii and such.

Not all of that was for you it started to go into a ramble. Sorry!

GS cookies, the worst crap ever.

  17. 17

Kids are always told not to go door to door for fear of the kids getting like kid napped or abused or whatever by their freaky ass neighbors. I for one hate it when people do the door to door thing. Or just show up uninvited in general.

Re: AshleyDuh – yeah, I'm only 5 years older than you and when I was in school, they told all us kiddies to go around the neighborhood. They said go in groups or with mom or dad but never by yourself. My point is that most children these days are lazy, disobedient and expect everyone to do everything for them which includes someone else selling their fucken GS cookies.

Re: starstrukk47 – I can't stand solicitors selling their lawn care shit or their security systems or whatever it may be but when the girl scout shows up on my front door (mom in tow), how can you get pissed at a child having a bit of working ethic? Much rather little Jackie knock on my door than have little Jackie's mom pester me at the workplace about it.

Re: April 20th – You are so good at it… is there money in being a dickhead?

  21. 21

Re: April 20th – I could only assume from your cavalier attitude that you haven't had the best of experiences with children lately. However, it's rather offensive that you're stereotyping all children of this generation. I speak as a 14 year old who just made an account to tell you that your constant comments blaming the youth of today annoy me, and I for one, am not "lazy and disobedient" and I do not expect everyone to do everything for me. Seriously, stop.

  22. 22

The last time i bought Girl Scout Cookies they were stale.

  23. 23

The neighbor who complained about the noise and traffic is an anti-capitalist and, to put it mildly, a motherfucking asshole. I hope you're happy, you commie pig.

  24. 24

The neighbor who complained is, in my considered opinion, a MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLE!

Get a life, you, fucking commie pig.

Those that think that going door-to-door is a safe way to be doing biz for little girls are crazy. Those days are long over and the days of parents supervising the children any where are way over!!!
