A new season, a new production delay.
At the beginning of Real Housewives of New York's last season, there was some dramz when the show was pushed back due to a longer-than-expected filming season and also so that Bravo could make room for The Real Housewives of Miami, which was a bomb, btw.
And now it looks like the New York Housewives are being bumped yet again. Filming for the show's fifth season was scheduled to begin on Labor Day, then it was pushed to September 8. But now it looks like filming won't begin for another three weeks AFTER that.
Some have speculated that there were scheduling conflicts with Bravo scrambling to reedit The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after the death of Russell Armstrong. However, Bravo says the two are not related. They add:
"The shoot schedule for RHNYC was pushed due to production details that needed to be finalized and there is absolutely no correlation between RHNYC and RHBH production concerns."
We still can't help but feel there might be a slight connection.
Well, anyway, here's hoping with the show's production delay also comes a little less ridiculous that we had to endure this past season. If you missed the last RHONYC reunion special, then you missed a whole bunch of ugliness and overall cattiness and fighting. We like the drama, ladies, but you have gone WAY overboard.
