We're relatively sure that the first thing that anyone says when getting caught trying to bring a gun into the airport, regardless of situation, is, "I forgot I had it."
And this is no exception.
Mickey "Memphitz" Wright put his backpack through the X-ray scanner at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport — and TSA agents quickly discovered the firearm and called the cops.
According to police, Wright had a valid license to carry the weapon insisting he had simply forgotten the gun was in his bag — but it's still illegal to bring it on a plane.
Wright was arrested on the spot and transferred to nearby jail. He is still in custody.
While we don't believe that he had any intent of actually using it — or that he was trying to transport it on purpose — we can't help but think that a lapse in judgement like this isn't so easy…
Taking a gun to the airport is stupid. Unless, of course, you properly check it to be shipped under the plane. Otherwise, we just have to shake our head at the fact that this happened.
It'll be interesting to see whether or not they buy the excuse, but we're going to guess that they probably will — seeing as it's properly registered and he's allowed to have it in other situations. Might be true he forgot it.
Do U think he's telling the truth???
