Great News! Leo and Tobey Have Arrived At The Great Gatsby Set!

After all the uncertainty, it's finally happening!

Check out the photos (above) of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire on set in Sydney, Australia for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gastby!

As we said back in February, we've got mixed feelings about Baz's decision NOT to film on-location, and we're not sure how necessary it is for them to shoot this in 3D…but otherwise, we're VERY curious to see how this one turns out.

Who knows? If it's a success, maybe it'll pave the way for more film adaptations of classic novels. Anyone up for a five hour War and Peace movie??? Ha!

Are U excited for The Great Gastby? What classic novel would U like to see adapted into a film next???

    I'd like to see A Tale of Two Cities updated. But, that's just me. I would be interested in seeing this film. Love Baz btw.

    They are going to have a fucking ball in oz.
    Greatest country in the fucking world.
    Best weed as well.

    I'd rather see it in black and white than 3D..what's the point? In the mean time Leo was made for this movie I really hope it lives up to it's novel though or I may cry.

  7. 7

    I'd love an adaptation of one of David Mitchell's novels, maybe number9dream of Cloud Atlas.

    @WildOrchid1298, agreed,
    I think 3d is ok for some films.
    personally i choose not to see films in 3d.
    Too much going on ,etc.
    i like to see the real (art) of a production.

    I live in Sydney! I'd die if I saw Leo, anyone here met him or know if he's worth approaching for a photo etc?

    @BeyondAmazing.
    Unless you have a gazillion $$$$$$$ and you run in his(set). I would have to say that the chances of you running into Leo would have to be Buckleys and Fuck all.

    i hope there's an option NOT to have to see it in 3-d…that makes no sense to me, lol! But this is simply my favorite classic book! Anything by Fitzgerald, really. I'm trying not to get too excited about it, however…movies rarely live up to their novel predecessors.

    yes im going to be trolling the area very soon!

    Re: bbcb – do you know this from experience or just giving you 2 cents to be a bitch? I asked for anyone who has met him thanks.

    think that these 2 have been friends for years
    they shoulld have a great time making the movie
    original movie was terrific
    interesting to see how the remake turns out
    but sincerely hope that Hollywood soon sends the remake cycle and comes up with some innovative ideas and scripts

    I'm pretty excited for this. Can't wait to see the costumes, cinematography, and of course how the actors fit into their roles. Baz! He's the best, I'm tingling with excitement…

  16. 16

    Gross casting. Where did all the real movie stars go?

  17. 17

    Everything Baz touches turns to shit. Part of his schtick is to bring the cast, supporting players, all the props, etc, into a big messy circus-like final scene. He will underplay the drama and focus on the glitz.
