Rest In Peace, Nick Ashford
Motown genius Nick Ashford has died of throat cancer. He was 69.
Ashford wrote and produced a myriad Motown classics with his wife, Valerie Simpson.
Some of his songs include Aint No Mountain High Enough, You're All I need to Get By, Let's Go Get Stoned, and I'm Every Woman.
In 1984, he and Valerie made their Solid (As A Rock) video (watch above).
His last work was a collaboration album with Maya Angelo — 1996's Been Found.
Ashford and his wife were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
It's a sad die when we lose someone, especially when that someone is a true artist.
Rest in peace, Nick Ashford.

I loved them back in the day! So sad, rip Nick!
RIP Nick!
He and his wife made this a happier world — not many can say that. Thanks for including the clip — hard not to smile watching it. Condolences to the family. RIP to Mr. Ashford. Thanks for the music!!!
so sad. RIP. by the way it' should say it's a sad "day" not sad "die".
Nick and Valerie; the epitome of 'smooth' when performing live. Classic tunes.
Appreciated, and RIP.
Nick Ashford comes from a time when people(musicians) still could make music. R.I.P. Nick Ashford, you were solid.
