    That's a lot of square footage for 1 girl and her family. I know she can afford it, and has the right to buy what she wants, but it would be nice if these rich people could care a little bit about the environment and lessen their carbon footprint. I'll bet that they live in a small portion of the house, and most room are rarely used.

    Maybe a small guest house… but the heating/electricity would be very low/off is no one was in it.

    I think she deserves to do whatever she wants. She has given back to the society more than any other star i can think of. Just take a look of the sums she has donated for charity. She is a lovely young woman.

    Re: dodgyend – I agree that she is lovely and very charitable - but does that mean she can pollute the planet as much as she wants? We should all be aware, responsible, and accountable for the effect we have on the environment.

    What a lovely home. Compared to some of the pictures of celeb homes, this isn't really all that big. Good for her.

    …what does buying a home have anything to do with her carbon footprint?
    And who's to say she's actually living in the house? She's probably renovating it and reselling it as a hobby or something. She has her own penthouse in nashville, and compared to almost any other celebrity of her status, that house is extremely modest. As is her personal LA abode.
    I swear, people will find anything to criticize and complain about…

    I think is a beautiful mansion, it was the right choice. Something too big is just outrageous waste of space unless you have a large family and a very small one… well its a matter of taste. I like big houses. The place looks lovely.

    You people have no concept. Someone is teaching her well with her money. These are investments. She will be set for life.

    I'm actually kind of surprised at how "little" the house costs compared to her net worth. I'm sure there are many others that make the money she does spending it on much more extravagant houses.
