Just another reason to grateful for the freedom we have in this country, regardless of the many improvements that still need to be made.
China's Ministry of Culture has reportedly banned music download sites from releasing songs by Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, and the Backstreet Boys because they had never been submitted for mandatory government screening, and that "national cultural security" must be protected!
According to them, over 100 songs, including GaGa's Judas, Perry's Last Friday Night, and Backstreet's I Want It That Way have all been ordered down within two weeks, or else the sites face punishment.
Check out a news story regarding the matter (above)!
Seems so foolish to focus on these kind of censorship issues when there are so many other problems at hand on which they should be focusing!
Hopefully at some point soon they'll realize that creativity cannot be stifled, regardless of how hard some may try!
Such a shame.
What do U think?? Is the Chinese government out of line?
