Consider us not surprised. We knew this is what he left Glee for. Let's just hope it was worth it.

While he maintains that being on the show was one of the "best experiences" of his life, Chord Overstreet bid farewell to the hit FOX show after only one season. The creators of Glee insisted that Chord wanted to pursue "other projects" and Chord confirmed that at least one of those projects is his first album.

As the son of country music legend Paul Overstreet, Chord knows a thing or two about music and is ready to share that with the fans he's accumulated over the last year. When asked about the album, Chord explained:

"I had the best time working on the show and I had one of the best life experiences. It was a blast. But I decided to look at it as an opportunity to dive into my music. I've been writing music my entire life and I had an opportunity to work on a record. It's something I have a huge passion for. I did a lot of thinking and I felt like it was a good time to work on my album and focus on that avenue of my career."

Hmm. Funny how Matthew Morrison and Mark Salling were able to record albums and still keep their jobs on Glee, huh?

For those of you who simply don't care that he threw away a good thing, Chord hopes to "get something out there for the fans to hear pretty soon." So, keep an eye out for that.

Hey Chord, has Emma Roberts heard your stuff yet?

Perhaps he doesnt care about starring on some kids TV show in the grip of the Gay Mafia.

Maybe he just thought the Glee scripts really sucked. Because they did. Why does Mario have to be such a bully cause someone chooses to leave his favorite show? Chord Overstreet can do whatever he wants with his career - it's his life. He certainly doesn't owe it to Mario to only take the jobs that Mario approves. I think it's so weird that Mario cares so much. It's pretty creepy. Maybe Mario was in love with his character and now Chord's gone and spoiled the fantasy. Glee will be cancelled after next season anyway, so wise move Chord. And yeah, so much for Mario giving up bullying.

And Mark Salling's and Matthew Morrison's albums sucked. Plus they both rushed it and made it with what little time they had between the first season concerts that they did, filming the episodes, recording the songs, and learning the choreography. Maybe Chord left the show to take his time and really concentrate on making a good album.

Leave the kid alone already! I am a huge "Gleek" and adore Chord, so of course I was sad to hear he wouldn't be in season three… but you need to stop bashing him! Not that age really matters, but he's only 22 (same age as me) and I find absolutely nothing wrong with him wanting to pursue other options. Stop trying to make it seem like his entire career is over because he left a job. He deserves respect for taking a chance and going after what he really wants.
