Natalie Portman Turns Down First Post-Baby Role!

Understandable! She wants to focus on being a mom!

Natalie Portman has reportedly been offered her first post-baby role as the lead in the film Adaline, which centers on a woman who becomes ageless after being in an accident in the early 1990s, but her rep just confirmed that ultimately, the actress chose to turn it down!

We're not too surprised!

Didn't she go as far as to claim recently that she might give up the industry entirely to start a family?

As sad as we would be to see her go, we do have to commend her - she's already accomplished so much!

What do U think? Should Natalie give up acting?

There are tons of great actresses who can play this part … if Natalie turned it down, fine. Hundreds of great others are next in line.

Unless that hot little russian number is going down on her again who cares?

  3. 3

    I'd die. She's so brilliant…

  4. 4

Great news!! Hopefully no more movies will be tarnished by her performance like THOR was.

  5. 5

    overrated……..no one would miss her

  6. 6

NOOOOOOOOOO. She's one of the only good actresses in Hollywood. Maryl Streep too. DON"T QUIT NAT!!! WE NEED YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu………. You'r son will understand ;)

When the role and the timing is right I think we'll see her again. She has been historically selective, I'd guess now she is now more so.

  8. 8

She's a beautiful girl and I admire her work. I do wonder why she hasn't married the father of her child though, since she has credited her own parents and upbringing with the bulk of her success.

  9. 9

    She is so overrated.

  10. 10

Re: Valentina – she is a whore with a bastard child……how brilliant is that????? she spread her legs for some loser guy……really?

  11. 11

now that she has a bastard child she should stay home….already ruined the kids life by not getting married..

  12. 12

Re: kappuhcheenoh – because she is a femi-natzi whore.

  13. 13

Now that she has "created life" she is even more self important than before.

  14. 14

Re: boston61 – LOL! Very true - she's always had that grandiose air about her.

  15. 15

@Kim K's SAGGY Ass: I wonder who screwed up your life.

  16. 16

    Kim K-
I usually like your posts, but to call a woman a "NAZI", not "natzi", whom you know to be of Jewish descent, is ignorant and nasty. Say what you like about Natalie Portman, but she's certainly not a NAZI!

    Re: boston61 – Y R U SO BITTER?

  18. 18

Re: MAGGIEJACK – She's not grandiose, she went to Harvard, which makes her elite, like it or not!

I doubt she'll give it up. It's just too soon; it's baby focus time. She'll crave personal challenge again once her life gets back to a somewhat normal flow.

  20. 20

Good for her. I love her on that cooking show "Everyday Italian" ciao bella!

  21. 21

No, I hope she doesn't turn the act-director business away completely although her wanting to start a family and devote her time to Aleph is understandable of course. I just hope she continues, she's too great not too!

  22. 22

Re: @v@ – Once again @v@ is chewing on her valium, and not noticing or relating to any of the conflict around her!

  23. 23

Re: kappuhcheenoh – … and I graduated from Cornell yet I'm not an elitist. Your point?

  24. 24

Re: MAGGIEJACK – But you did tell me where you went to school, LOL! Cornell's not Harvard sweetheart!

  25. 25

    Re: Prima facie

I would like to see more people get opportunities. It seems it'a always the same well connected lucky few.

  26. 26

I also don't like people who don't smile.

  27. 27

natalie portman sucks. she's a terrible actress.

  28. 28

Re: kappuhcheenoh – You're right, it's not Harvard. Lucky for me I didn't go to Harvard, otherwise, I'd risk having the same pretentious sense of self-importance that Natalie seems to exude. Are you finished now in trying to begin an argument with me? I hope so, as I have no interest in continuing this conversation with you. Feel free to respond though; however I won't be back on this thread, as I'm on to new stories now. Have a lovely day cappuccino.

  29. 29

Re: boston61 – I agree with you 100% on this!

  30. 30

Re: MAGGIEJACK – Stop confusing success with self-importance! For GOD's sake, the Kardashians have more self importance than Natalie Portman does, but she has more success, because there is a foundation to her success, NOT a SEX TAPE!!!

  31. 31

If she invested her money properly there should be no reason for to ever have to work again and it would be just for fun. I don't see a problem with giving others a chance to make it big in the hollylotto. Motherhood is way more important a role thanany movie every will be

Re: Prima facie – People can be both successful and self important. The two are in no way mutually exclusive.

  33. 33

    Re: NotSoGay – …. that's giada delaurentis

  34. 34

OH COME ON GUYS STOP HATING ON HER, THE ONLY MOVIE I THINK I HAVE EVER SEEN WAS THE ONE )I FUCHING HATE IT WHEN I CANT REMEMBER A FILM NAME( THAT SHE WAS PREGNANT AND THEN DUMPED BY HER BOYFRIEND, SO SHE LIVED AT WALMART FOR LIKE TWO WEEKS TILL SHE HAD THE BABY AND THAT STORE MANAGER RESCUED HER (CANT REMEMBER HIS FUCHING NAME EITHER JEEZ LOUISE) OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. WHO CAN TELL ME THE NAME OF IT? DONT TELL ME TO FUCH OFF EITHER, I CAN SEE ALL OF YOU GUYS LOL!! P.S. ONLY REASON I REALLY LIKED IT WAS THE LIVING AT WALMART PART, WOULDNT THAT BE COOL?

  35. 35

Re: hubwoof – " Where the Heart Is"! Great flick!

  36. 36

Enjoy your babies and being newly in love. Best times in life. She has that Meryl Streep quality. She's already done enough to be great and she can take time off for a family and come back really strong and different when she's a bit older, she's established.

  37. 37

She's so overrated. She's good but nothing like Meryl Streep. Oh and those eyebrows don't make good for you sweetie :I

  38. 38

Or maybe she just didn't think it was the right role for her…

  39. 39

I do get the air of self-importance about her. But at least she's not on the cover of every trash tabloid with one scandal after the next. She doesn't need to do that, her work speaks for itself. AND, she's beautiful, to boot. AND, she's intelligent and articulate. So haters, please stifle yourselves.

I don't think she'll quit acting. But she's probably eager to relish in her mommy-time. She'll be back.

Re: kappuhcheenoh – Once again you fail the focus on the question, which was 'What do U think? Should Natalie give up acting?' and instead choose to get sucked into sidetracked bitching, which I also find nothing wrong with…but is far closer to valium head to me.

Re: kappuhcheenoh – See, like this first comment. Completely off topic. You hijack the question of the thread and turn it into complimenting Natalie while simultaneously sideswiping her about being a parent while merely shacked up. Plus you're not being honest. Your veiled sniping at me has something to do with who you actually are, R., and some offense you took in a past post to a previous comment that you should have addressed then.

  42. 42

Right firstly just cos she's been to Harvard does not make her special.

Second, why are so many of you taken in by her beauty, she might be a not very nice person behind the mask, i say might though.

And lastly, of all her acting performances, i've not seen any that rank that high above average…and i've seen them all cos i had a big crush on her when i was younger, but as i've got older i've learnt too look beyond skin deep, and she may well be a 2 faced person or something behind the scenes, how would the fans know? That said she might be a nice lady, who knows.
