Prosecutors are hoping that the identity of the man who was caught on tape with college student Tyler Clementi will be kept anonymous.
Lawyers for Dharun Ravi, who was accused of spying and filming Tyler having an intimate encounter with a man, only known as M.B., filed for a motion to reveal his identity so that they can ask him questions to help further their case.
In case you don't remember the story, Tyler committed suicide after the video of him and M.B. were filmed by his roommate, Ravi, and was posted on the internet.
Ravi was charged with bias intimidation and invasion of privacy and faces a possible sentence of 10 years in prison.
Clementi's lawyers want to keep M.B.'s name, address, and birthday from being released.
And we completely agree. Lawyers for Ravi have no right in possibly revealing M.B.'s identity. The last thing anyone wants is to have another tragedy on their hands.
