It's Official! Netflix Prices Have Increased, Bummer!

Netflix Price Hike

As we reported before, there are a ton of pissed off customers planning to leave Netflix due to the 60% fee hike.

Instead of only paying ten bucks a month for both unlimited streaming and unlimited dvds (one out at a time), you now have to pay $7.99 each.

True, while it's a price boost, it's still dirt cheap for what you get….

except for the fact that any time you want to see a specific movie, it's never on streaming and who the hell wants to wait two days to see Clueless, huh!?!

By that time, the mood will be gone, and you just wasted a queue spot!!!

Ugh. Amazon, here we come!

ughh the movies are expesive and the dvds mail r dumb cuz most of them are by mail

  2. 2

going to amazon will not help since Netflix's streaming library dwarf's the size of amazon's library.

  3. 3

why would anyone want to watch Clueless, except a clueless moron like yourself Mario.

  4. 4

Yep. I canceled my Netflix account because of the price hike. Bummer, but there's a Redbox right down the road. Of course, it doesn't have the breadth, so if Netflix dropped the price I'd take 'em back.

I canceled my Netflix on Tuesday. Nothing I wanna see is available for streaming and with only one DVD out at a time the service just isn't worth it. I only watch movies on the weekends and since I primary rent new releases I'll just got back to the redbox.

I cancelled when they first announced the price increase. I cant afford to pay for both, and just one isnt worth it. Theres not many good selections on instant watch either. If they would make everything available on instant watch, I would reconsider.

I've already cancelled. The streaming is a joke, there is nothing new at all and when you rent the actual dvd's the new releases are never available due to a "very long wait." Plus it takes like 3 days each time you send back a dvd. Sorry but $17 is not worth it. Bye bye Netflix!

Netflix has gotten horrible since they announced of the increase prices. The streaming online doesn't even show any good films anymore. I'm so close into canceling my account the only thing stopping me is that my parents love it.

I canceled my Netflix service. I still have TVDevo website's service for streaming Movies + TV, for much cheaper than what Netflix offers. Also looking into Blockbuster-by-mail.

Amazon is good choice for new movies really. I just change my Netflix to stream and see if am I going to use it as much otherwise I'll get rid of it and try to use the RED Box one !

Would be nice is their streaming wasn't fucked up at least twice a week. *mad*.

  12. 12

i canceled my netflix and went to blockbuster online. so much better selection and much cheaper. they get movies a whole month before redbox and netflix anyways.

  13. 13

I also canceled with netflix and sign on with blockbuster online because of the price going up and with blockbuster online you can also rent video games too!!!! bye bye slow Gamefly and high price Netflix…. I hope everyone cancel netflix to wake them up and lower that price and maybe i would come back. untill then, NO!!!!!

For Canadian customers, use zip.ca It's the same as Netflix but they have all new releases as well. We've been using it for about 10 months and have watched over 70 videos! They mail them in the mail and send a pre-paid envelope to send them back in. It's a great service - especially because we have a little baby. It means we never have to leave the house! mwahahaha.

I too cancelled, streaming content sucks and with one dvd out at a time, it's not worth it to to pay for them separately. I'm curious what percentage of customers they've lost as a result of this price hike.

wow Perez, this story was out weeks ago, are you that far behind? How about the more recent story that Starz will no longer be renewing there contract for streaming there shows on Netflix after February

    here comes my shameless plug….
Blockbuster rolled out a new plan today. $15 a month gets you one out at a time in the stores, unlimited exchanges on movies and games, plus one from our online store each month (for that occasional hard to find movie). First month half off!
