Spot Collins was such a dreamboat when I was 7. The kid who played Les ended up being on that MTV show "Undressed" at some point.

I LOVED the movie growing up. I'm right there with you Verde, I had a TOTAL crush on Spot Collins too! And of course Christian Bale was a dream! But WHY did they replace Bill Pullman's character with a chick? They could've just expanded the sister's character as it was. Then again I would've been happy without the little tinkers they did with the Wicked story too and I love that musical anyway. :)

I saw the movie for this once, and I couldn't STAND it. I was about to cry it was pissing me off so bad. But I don't know, i'm not really into stuff like that so it's probably not a very fair opinion.

I would LOVE to see this show on stage! Unfortunately I'm very very far away from NJ.

At risk of sounding like a crazy fangirl, I'm not sure what to think about it. I don't know much about the casting or changes to the story, but I read that there was a romance added to it as well as a new character in the form of a female reporter, whom I assume is Jack's love interest. In the movie there was a romance. It wasn't at the forefront, granted, but it was there. If I'm correct about the female reporter, Jack already had a love interest in the form of Sarah, Davey and Les's older sister. That pairing made sense to me because in dating Sor even eventally marrying Sarah in a way Jack gets his family, which if I remember correctly was one of the things he ultimately wanted. I'll keep an open mind, of course, and hope that it's better then what I picture, but this is what I have to say for now.
