Holly Robinson Peete The Talk Official Exit Goodbye Fired

After much speculation, Holly Robinson Peete has officially been given the boot from CBS' The Talk.

The host, who played a big role in launching the talk show, took to her blog to say her peace:

After weeks in limbo, I was finally officially given word from CBS today that I have not been picked up for the 2nd season of The Talk. While I am relieved to have this closure, it doesn’t diminish my disappointment one bit about not continuing with a show I worked very hard to launch and love dearly. But I’ve been around long enough to know that while you cannot control certain situations you CAN control how you respond to them. [I would like to thank CBS] for a tremendous opportunity to realize a long held dream of mine to host a daytime talk show,. I learned SO much and will cherish and build upon my experience. Best of all I made some friends for life. I want to thank the viewers and those who supported and rallied around me and expressed appreciation for the humor and heart I attempted to bring to the table. You lifted me!

This is so sad to read. We thought she was a delightful host and really brought something different to the table — including a puppy for Sharon Osbourne!

Ah well, Holly. As we sure you already know, when one door closes, another one opens and we can't wait to see you walk on through it.

Best of luck, girl!

What is sad is the fact that this was online days ago…P, you're neglecting your site. All the news you post is off of your competitors or news sites like MSN. Your star is fading…

Maybe Holly & Jayda P. can develop a sista version of Cagney & Lacey…lots of out of work sistas right now…certainly it can't be viewers sending a message now, can it?

  3. 3

Don't take it too personally Holly. The viewers just don't find you compelling or interesting enough obviously or you'd still be there.

Loved Holly on The Talk! Glad to see she is not bitter and realized its just a job. Time to move forward. Good Luck!

The Talk though I think is just a copy cat of the view right down to giving up the couches for staying at the table and often copying the hot topics, was unique as to the host hosting the show, I came to love it and was so excited about season two, sharon was my reason for first tuning in, but you and leah were my reasons for returning, I love sharon but I'm not going to be watching The Talk any longer. I think you and sharon and leah and sara should have your own show. maybe you and leah and sharon do one online. CBS cancelled all my soaps, yet continue with bold and beautiful with whom my dogs and cats are better actors. I'm not investing anymore in Y &R for them to just kill that also. Time to catch up on all the reading I've neglegted. good luck in your next adventure.

What a classy Lady. We could all learn from her!!!

With leah gone do you think Sara will talk? I think julie chen who I dislike is taking the fall for what was prob sara decision.

Lesson to learn, don't fuck with the Chenbot. I hope this show fails now.

  9. 9

That was an exceptional and eloquent statement.

Classy! I hope they don't wreck the show. Love Mrs O, but Julie is boring!~

Did ya see her on The Apprentice?? She is a nightmare! Super rude and full of herself. It's all about her autistic child. SHUT UP! You didn't care about autism until you had one.

Re: CaliCoyote – Not many people care about a cause until they have first hand experience. What's important is what you do with that first hand experience…and she's done a lot! Since when did self-esteem, confidence, and self-assurance = full of yourself??? The talk will never be the same without Holly and Leah…took it off my DVR.
