Arizona Will Be Forced To Continue Giving Health Benefits To Same-Sex Partners Of Government Workers!

same sex partners of gov workers get health benefits in arizona

Take THAT, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer!

Arizona has NOT impressed us with their policies lately, but we'll admit this is a step in the right direction…sort of.

Even though they're being forced to do it, Arizona will continue to provide health-care benefits to same-sex partners of individuals who work for the government.

The ruling was announced today by Arizona's 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which "upheld an injunction that blocked a 2009 state law from taking effect," that "would have eliminated health-insurance coverage for the same-sex partners of state workers."

The law was originally proposed by Gov. Jan Brewer, whom we are totally disgusted by!

Let's just hope that this doesn't get overturned at any point. The idea that these hard-working government employees could lose health benefits for their loved ones JUST because of their sexual orientation is sickening to us!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

That's great. I'm all for that. What I'm against is wasting health benifits and food stamps on all the fucking illegal fucking wetback mexicans. They are sneaking over here and ruining our country. They need to round them up and send their worthless asses back to Mexico. Arizonia seems to be the only state with enough sense to try and do something about the infestation.

Oh, is this an illegal alien bashing post cuz I'm all in. Fuck illegal aliens. Fuck Mario for supporting illegal aliens when the national unemployment rate is 9.2%. Fuck every celebrity and every single person who supports these resource thieves. God bless Jan Brewer! God bless the ballsy Arizonians. God bless America! May God take a giant shit on illegals though. And I hope God does this after a big meal over at Chipotle.

I'm so Glad that People are finaly Understanding that Bigotry has no place in laws that effect the civil rights of our Citizens. This is Wonderful and I hope that it is a move toward progress for Arizona and the rest of the country/world:)

Re: crickets – You and anyone who agrees with this are a racist Bigot. Don't you know that if you allow horrible things to happen to others the same fate will be waiting for you? Wake up!

The original post was about equal rights for everyone, and ending hate… Too bad all of you are filled with it.

So glad I live in Canada.

Wow you people are really hateful, I'm a arizona native and yes we do have a major immigration problem. I do agree that our state needs to get it under control, and I agree with with immigration law, but i find it very offensive at the same time. I feel as if its only targeting illegal mexican national when it should be targeting all that are here illegally. Eagle eye is correct this was for same sex mariage rights, which im extremely happy that theyre enforcing yay! Idk I love Arizona born and raise but its ran by idiots.

Perez, this may shock you but check the facts about Alaska. Sarah Palin gave health benefits to gay partners shortly after she became governor. All the MALE governors refused to do it. Palin was attacked by some in her state for her decision and she responded it was the legal thing to do and she honors the laws of the land not personal opinions.

  12. 12

You have some dumb fucks on your site Mario. This bill had nothing to do with illegals.
ACTUALLY, the same sex partner health benefits were granted in 2008 by executive order of then governor Janet Napolitano, currently of the Obama administration. The benefits were never approved by the voters of Arizona.
Were it left to the voters of Arizona gays would still be charged with crimes against nature.

I'm all for equal rights for all, but this country is in dire straits. Everything is falling apart and all everyone is talking about is either the Gay Agenda or Chaz Bono. Really, most people, including Gays, have had enough of the distraction. Stop already.

  14. 14

how can people even CONSIDER such a sinister policy. I could understand if it was grandfathered-in, but to actively pursue such a malicious law makes me absolutely sick to my stomach–I mean she looks like a nice old lady!!! WTF is wrong with these people! You're NEVER going to get rid of the gay population–what does she think!? if you take away health care benefits homosexuals will magically stop loving each other and turn straight? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR?! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE OTHER THAN YOUR OWN IGNORANCE!

Re: adg100 – ..then someone needs to tell the right wing religious conservatives to stop fighting the "gay agenda", because A) they're party is going to look REAAAL dumb in 40 years [ie. segregation and women suffrage] and B) Gays AREN'T going anywhere. so at what point do you think gays are going to decide to just give up and be treated as a subhuman category, while straight couples enjoy all the benefits and perks that the government has to offer. Meanwhile, white-trash, illegal immigrants, and 'urban folk' keep poppin' out bastard babies, and keep going to hospital. yeah…. lets just focus on the gays… they're the REAL problem with this country, CLEARLY…

Looks like there's still a lot of homophobes in the USA from the comments to this post. You know what, in 2020 it will be 100 years since women got the right to vote. Imagine that, 91 years ago women in the USA were second-class citizens with absolutely no rights. So in 2011 GLBTQ people in common-law or marriage relationships in Arizona get the same spousal/partner benefits as their co-workers and people get in a flap about this? When will all 50 states plus DC make this a basic human right for American citizens and the homophobes stop their ranting?

I'm not a Republican, but I love Jan Brewer. I would vote for her for President in a heartbeat. She's the only one who has had the balls to try and actually do something to get these illegal bloodsuckers out of our country. I'm tired of working my ass off to pay in taxes only to financially support illegals. I'm sick & tired of this bullshit!!!
