Soulja Boy Tries To Bury Anti-Military Song! Removes It From Album AND Wants It Off Internet

Can you say "damage control?"

To recap, on Monday we learned that Soulja Boy pissed off members of the U.S. military and others with his new rap song Let's Be Real (above), in which he says "f**k the army troops."

Then yesterday, Soulja posted an apologetic blog entry on GlobalGrind.com, entitled "I Am Deeply Sorry To All Members Of The United States Military Services And Their Families."

Now, in a further effort to save his career, Soulja has decided to remove Let's Be Real from his upcoming album Respect My Hustle AND he wants to remove the video from the Internet.

According to Soulja's rep Debby Coda, the rapper's team have been trying to get the song off the Internet since Friday AND she says that the track will NEVER be available for purchase!

She also says that Soulja is willing to "perform free shows for the military and meet with service members to make up for the song."

He definitely seems to be taking the right steps to make amends, but it's going to be pret-ty difficult to erase the song from all of our memories.

…If only that procedure from Eternal Sunshine was real…

What do U think about Soulja Boy's efforts to bury his anti-military song?

So he gets crap over this but Tyler "Rape a pregnant bitch and call it a three way" the Creator gets an award?

  2. 2

all the spin in the world won't change the fact the universe now knows who he really is and what he really think…because he told us!

  3. 3

    fuck Soulja

  4. 4

Freedom of speech…..he can sing whatever crap he wants. Reality…..the public can reject him and his crap. Thankfully, that is exactly what is happening. Saying sorry is woefully inadequate compared to what these brave soliders have been through. I hope he fades to the back.

  5. 5

    Freedom of speech!
(oh and are the guys and gals in the armed forces so pure and spotless?)

  6. 6

too late and we know who you are

  7. 7

I didn't hear the song, but I don't get why they couldn't have just re-edited that verse and changed the line? But whatevers, not like I'll be buying his cd anyway.

Re: understudy3 – Tyler wouldn't even care if he got crap… he likes the negative attention- thats why he says the off the wall ish he says. Tyler isn't serious, but merely does it for shock value. Disgusting yes, but is he going to change, eh probably not.

Re: HILRAY – and we already know that your a not so closet racist, but most likely a closet racist behind the protection of your computer screen.

Wow, this song was truly horrible. I'm not even talking about the content of the song, but the beat, the flow, the quality - horrible.

Hmmm Maybe he is removing the song because the military shopping center AAFES released a statement saying that they would NOT be carrying the album and that the only way that they would re-evaluate the ban would be if the song was dropped from the album. SORRY SOULJA you just put the nail in your own coffin, the armed forces won't touch you with a 10 ft pole now.

Re: curiousred – It isn't a matter of who is "pure and spotless" and who is not. The matter is that Soulja Boy is an ungrateful ignorant bastard who obviously has no idea what these individuals go through and what they sacrifice to ensure our RIGHTS AKA FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!! We would not have it without them. FREEDOM ISN'T FREE PEOPLE!!!

    Re: MsJules

It doesn't matter Tyler likes negative attention, Mr. Flores who ripped Soulja Boy's song for the line said it was irresponsible because he was an entertainer of the youth of this country. So again, we hold on responsible for his rap, but give a pass to others?

Re: Everything popular is wrong. – I agree. Why would anyone even want to go to a FREE show from this guy? You would have to pay me a lot to go to his show and listen to that crap. It just sounds like noise.

  15. 15

You have the right to say whatever you want, but that doesn't mean you should…

  16. 16

Soulja Boy you PILLOCK , you Soulja Boy can GO TO HELL

  17. 17

i dont get it. theres people all over the world that have said worse things about the military daily, and theres not a word or care about them. but when someone as irrelevent as SB, who no one really pays attention too…he gets ripped apart. this whole thing wouldnt have been as big an issue if they didnt bring any attention to it.

  18. 18

Yeah, he can say whatever he wants, but this song sounds TERRIBLE anyway. Shouldn't he be embarrassed to put out this quality of "music" to the public? God, I can't even imagine how big his ego is to think this sounded good.

  19. 19

Re: understudy3 – That guy is a little shit pellet. He need's an 'ironic' 'totally not serious' butt raping.

  20. 20

he's an idiot..and his music is really effen stupid. I want him to just disappear into nothingness…and go away…far far away.

  21. 21

Shouldn't of apologized. Most people are brain dead sheep and believe anything that big box tells them. Our military is crap and the people in it are entitled twats.

  22. 22

Re: curiousred – it's not about being "pure and spotless" it's about having some major respect to those who are over there risking their lives. as far as i'm concerned you are just as big of an ass as soulja boy for your comment.

  23. 23

Let me just say i live on Fort Irwin military base and people here are mad. Soulja boy can say sorry all he wants to but ay he so bad and such a gangster then dont say sorry stand by what you say…. and best believe are troops are goin to keep standing too. Also if you think about this in EVERY state there are troops, there family, there friends, and people who support the troops… im laughing at him hes goin to be sorry ahahahaha

  24. 24

This racist Soulja Boy deserves to have his career ruined. Besides his music is garbage.

  25. 25

    He is an idiot.

Thank you Soulja Boy for ending your career, the career that you should never have had in the first place.

  26. 26

He should issue an apology just cuz this song sucks so much ass

  27. 27

Its only a song and I would have had more respect for him if he had stuck to his guns, we don't have to agree with what he says but, in the UK and the US, he does have the right to say it. All this backpedalling smacks of desperation so including that particular lyric was obviously something he didn't think through to its inevitable backlash from some of the public. His cowardice is worse than the original "offence" by a fair margin, say what you mean and mean what you say ;o)

  28. 28

What did he expect? Servicemen are put on a pedestal in society, I'm really at a loss that he thought this would go down well…

  29. 29

    publicity stunt!
