Stress Is Making Kat Von D's Hair Fall Out…Literally!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooJesse JamesKat Von D

Kat Von D Hair Loss

Kat Von D is literally losing hair because of all the stress she's endured!

When you mix a break-up/make-up, a show cancellation, and all that hair dye together, your hair is bound for some serious damage.

And that's unfortunately exactly what Kat is suffering these days.

Sources close to the tattoo artist say:

Kat totally has bald spots and it’s from stress. It’s worse than anyone her age should have. The combination of all the treatments she does to her hair and stress have finally caught up with her. She’s started ordering wigs along with the hair pieces and extensions she already uses. I feel really bad for her because the bald spots are horrible. The stress of losing her hair is only stressing her out more and making it worse!

Hopefully it's not AS bad as it seems!

Well, we guess even if it is, it's not that big of a blow to her. After all, she is all about the body mods!

I don't believe for one second that's it's due to stress. She's constantly twirling it and stuff. And she's been wearing wigs for a LONG time.

  2. 2

It's not stress. Her and James are set for life. It's all the crap she does to her hair. She needs to shave it and start over.

  3. 3

Self hatred personified! You're not interesting Kat, you're gross!

  4. 4

Could be all the bad wigs!

  5. 5

bs! its the amount of dye and bleach and constant fucking about with her hair.. anyone knows hair can only be resilient for so long then snaps

I have alopecia areata, it's an autoimmune disease that causes bald spots triggered by environmental factors, such as stress. The one thing it isn't is ugly. It's just hair, people. Anyone made uncomfortable by a few bald spots should probably reevaluate what is really important in your life.

  7. 7

I'm pretty sure its from all the shit she has done to her hair…you can't color your hair 6 times in two months from (bleach blonde to black etc, etc) and not have serious damage…

agreed @DaBear608. also, after thinking of all the tragedy so many families faced and continued to face since 9/11, coming to perezhilton.com and reading about how kat von d is stressed because that one guy, who cheated on sandra bullock, dumped her…and her show was cancelled…(she still has her tattoo business and her make-up line)…makes me want to roll my eyes.

from Miami Ink to here… she lost a loooot of weight! when I diet, I lose some hair too.

The bitch permanently disfigured her face with all those tattoos and she's freaking out about her hair?

She has been losing her hair for a while. Hence "the bad wigs."

  13. 13

This is one FUGLY chick …..

  14. 14

    Tit for Tat !

  15. 15

PROBLEM SOLVED: She should just tatoo hair on her head and erase those fucked up tats on her face. I think Kat got it twisted!

I agree with DaBear608-it sounds like Alopecia Areata. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata in 2005 ("Alopecia"). At the time I had lost most the hair on the front of my scalp. I was extremeley depressed. Thankfully I started seeing one of the leading doctors on Alopecia and with treatments of topical steriods and Rogain all my hair grew back. 1 in 10 womean suffer from some form of Alopecia but are too embarressed to say anything. As I learned Alopecia is nothing to be embarressed about. Ms. Von D should immediately consult a dermatologist. If it is Alopecia, it can be cured.

More likely is she suffers with trichotillmania (compulsive hair pulling) and it is exacerbated by stress. It's very difficult to treat the compulsion to pull. It's more common than you might think.

  18. 18

actually no, she was always wearing a wig. check out her show..

  19. 19

This is just proof of her actually wearing a wig thru her show…

Re: winnerwinnerchickendinner – my thoughts ecactly. i've been suffering with this for 10 years. you can go through times where you don't pull at all but then there are times where you constantly pull without even noticing that you are.

  21. 21

Alopecia or trichotillmania? Mebbe…how about you don't put poison under every ounce of your derma, the largest organ in one's body. And so pretty too. RME.

Re: jsgz – I saw my dermatologist every 3 weeks for steroid injections into my scalp for 3 years. It fell out faster than it was being pushed to grow back, even with the kenalog. I was afraid to walk across a windy parking lot for fear of my hair blowing the wrong way. I quit the injections after I shaved my head when I reached 35% bald. It was liberating. I rock a pixie now and still have bald spots moving all over my head. After 6 years with Alopecia, I empathize with anyone losing hair to: cancer (especially, OBVIOUSLY), stress, dieting, pregnancy, etc. The beauty is, it's just hair. And hair sure doesn't make the person. Or most men over 30 would be out.

Re: winnerwinnerchickendinner – I had a friend who did that in middle and high school. And the worst part about it is that she didn't even know what the hell was happening. I'd see her everyday, and it'd just get thinner, and thinner, and thinner. Then POOf! Big old bald spot develops on a pre-teen. Messed up, huh?? I even tried to set her up with another one of my friends, and we had to work for almost an hour to pull off this massive comb over-type style, and it still didn't work. She ended up leaving the date in tears due to embarassment. And although my guy friend was nice to her, I could tell that he was offended for hooking him up with a "bald chick". But when it comes to the specific disorder that we're talking about, it's actually a form of OCD. But unlike my friend, Kat has 2 blessings that she did not- 1: a fiance' that will love her unconditionally, no matter what her hair looks like (hopefully). And 2- the cash to buy a hell of a lot of wigs and extensions. But no matter what the disorder ends up being, she needs to get it checked out before it gets worse (even though she appears to be nothing more than a cold-hearted bitch who can't keep a friend//employee to save her life).

Hollywood is constantly selling the "glamour" of The Skank Life.
The reality of it, especially a few years later, is something else entirely.
    Karma. It catches up.

  26. 26

The only reason those tats seem kind of cool is because she is so young. She will be a balding freaking mess in a few years. People will pity her. She is a walking ashtray.

  27. 27

That's too bad about her hair. Honestly, I just want to scrub her clean. She always looks so dirty to me. Those tats really do her no justice. What happens when she gets old and her skin sags? How will those tats look then. She wears too much makeup and just looks dirty all the time.

  28. 28

She has been wearing wigs for a long time on her show. It's really obvious to anyone that's seen it.

  29. 29

Isn't she losing her hair because of all the GLUED ON WIGS/WEAVES she's been wearing on her head for YEARS?

  30. @v@ says – reply to this

Are there chemicals in her ink or the ink she works with? Wigs can stifle oxygen access for regular hair if worn too much. Alopecia is a possibility, as is illness, dyes, nutitional deficiency or prescription side effects. All must be examined and eliminated. I like her and wish her good fortune in this and all she does.

  31. 31

You'd bee surprised at how many "celebrities" are loosing their hair or that have bald spots. Weaves and extensions cause alopecia. Why aren't people being told this? Synthetic drug abuse as well as regulated meds/drugs can cause hair loss as well. Deficiencies are a contributing factor as well as stress.

  32. 32

It's not stress. Its karma for being with a married man, hoe.
