WOW! We didn't see this one coming!
Although Whitney Houston hasn't acted since 1997's TV movie Cinderella, she's apparently in negotiations to star in - and executive produce - a remake of the 1976 drama Sparkle, alongside Jordin Sparks and Mike Epps!
The original film was a fictional story inspired by the Supremes, and follows three sisters who start a girl group, only to have their personal lives deteriorate as they become famous.
Sparks is expected to play the title character, while Whitney is being tapped to play her unsupportive mother! Meanwhile, Epps is to play Satin, a stand-up comic who gets one of the girls addicted to drugs!
Sounds like some pretty heavy stuff!
But we have a feeling that if Whitney can harness some of her own personal struggles over the past few years, she could seriously give one hell of a performance in this! This could be EXACTLY what she needs!
We're so excited to see how this develops!
What do U think?? Would U want to see Whitney on the big screen again?
