But not everyone is so willing to forgive and forget.
Talk show host Montel Williams took to Twitter when he heard the news to vent his frustration and disgust with the reality star.
Alright, we're going to be real honest with you here, Bobby. We like you a lot, but if we had to rate you, we'd put you deadpanned between Sydney Chaplin and Omar Sharif.
Take from that what you will.
You probably know Bobby Cannavale best from his time on Will & Grace. That is, unless you are a New Yorker. Then you probably know Bobby a bit better, having seen him in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions, though this will be his first musical production. The guy's got quite a reputation, but he's just been handed the role of a lifetime.
Bobby has been chosen to play opposite Lauren Ambrose in the revival of Funny Girl as the handsome, debonair gambler Nick Arnstein. As this is the first revival of the show since it first premiere on Broadway, there is a lot of buzz surrounding this show, which means there is a lot of pressure on the cast to deliver something memorable.
But does Bobby have the presence of Sydney or the charm of Omar? We soon shall see. For now, we'll offer our congratulations and wish him luck in rehearsals.
Work hard! This could be the one to turn your title from "Tony-nominee" to "Tony-winner"!
