Such a lovely gesture! They're going to be SO thrilled!
Cheryl Cole has flown to Afghanistan this morning on a surprise trip, to help boost the morale of the British soldiers, sailors, and pilots currently stationed in the war-torn country, and to also film a tribute to the Armed Forces for the Pride of Britain Awards!
A source reveals:
"Cheryl's amazed by the courage of all those serving our country. When she was invited to go out to see them in Afghanistan, she immediately said 'Yes'."
The pop star reportedly not only boarded a troop carrier plane at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire to begin her 12-hour journey, but also apparently underwent hostile environment training, which included training on what to do if she were kidnapped or if she came under fire!
Wowza! We're glad she's taking this so seriously!
So brave! And for such a generous cause!
Be safe, gurl! We can't wait to hear about your trip!
