Casey Anthony Ordered To Pay Over $97K To Florida!!!

casey anthony to pay florida 97k

A lot of people will probably be pleased to hear this, given the fact that she's being called "one of the most hated women in America."

Today, Judge Belvin Perry ordered Casey Anthony to pay $97,676.98 to the state of Florida to cover costs associated with the investigation of Caylee Anthony's disappearance.

The judge ruled that Casey must pay these costs because she was convicted of lying to law enforcement about her daughter's disappearance, and she allowed them to devote time AND money to an investigation, when she already knew that Caylee was dead.

Here's the breakdown of how much Casey is being forced to pay to different Florida agencies:

- $61,505.12 to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
- $25,837.96 to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office
- $10,283.90 to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation
- $50 to the State Attorney’s Office

While it seems that justice will never be fully served in this case, we're glad to see that further efforts are being made to ensure that Casey doesn't get off 100% scot-free.

What do U think about this? Should Casey Anthony be responsible for all the costs listed (above)???

    Yea. Like, that'll happen.

  3. 3

Goody! Finally, the karma is starting.

  4. 4

100k versus a life sentence, she got off scott free.

  5. 5

Just sounds like shes paying off the state for getting her off if you ask me…just look at the bill, nothing about the other groups that volunteered their time and resources to find Caylee.

  6. 6

I hope she fucks someone real soon who is royally infected with AIDS.

  7. 7

i'm still intrigued she's got away with it. is she smart enough to commit the perfect crime or was it all luck?

    Re: La Vaquera

Great idea…then she'd be an even larger burden on the tax payers. Side note be careful about wishing ill on someone it can come back on you.

Re: sunnysideup22125 – Yeah wishing bad things about someone really comes back to you. *rolls eyes*

  10. 10

They have a judgment against someone with $500 to her name. Hmmm.

  11. 11

peanuts considering what that trial cost the tax payers.

  12. 12

Good, at least now she'll be broke. Meaning she can't live that "bella vita" she wanted so badly. Can't party without some cash. I hope that Judge slams her with everything he can.

  13. 13

They Will never get that money. SHe doesn't have a job and no one who has morals would give her a job. She will file bankruptcy and the state will get nothing cuz she doesn't have that kind of money.

  14. 14

yeah she should pay all that money.she got away scott free, but paying $97k isnt going to be easy for her.its good there making it difficult for her to move on, maybe she'll snap because of it and tell the truth

She still got off. But let's hope that group that is suing her and that lady that is as well puts another crack in her wallet!

  18. 18

Oh how karma is going to get you..since people were to stupid to.. you'll get yours you hideous creature…

  19. 19

that scum lawyer should "lend" her the money. It also would not surprise me if some anonymous person paid it for her. She will never be held accountable for this crime. karma will have to get her in the end.

  20. 20

Cindy and George have money now. Maybe they could pay it? After all the lied their asses off under oath. JMHO

  21. 21

Cindy the crackpot will give her the $ out of the Dr Phil interview $

  22. 22

It initially sounded like a great idea but it's probably going to force her to get a publicist and start appearing on every talk show and lecture circuit she can get her broke *ss on in order to pay the bill.

There was no hard proof are evidence she did it which is why she was found NOT GUILTY.Get over it and move on with your boring lives. If i had that kind of extra money I'd pay it for her and let her live with me.

  24. 24

GOOD!!! She ought to be ashamed for covering this crime, I hope she is consumed by a life time of guilt!! She is a disgusting vile creature. She says her daughter drowned… ok any mother I know would have immediately called 911 at the sight of their child's lifeless body in a pool- even if they knew there was nothing they could do to save her, sheer desperation for a chance, for a slight miracle would make any human being with a decent heart rescue the child from the water and call 911 as fast as their fingers can go all while trying life saving measure (ie cpr) to try and resuscitation them- not cover their mouths with DUCT TAPE and leave them to rot in the woods!

  25. 25

And for those saying she will never get the money to pay them back.. unfortunately what the worst part about all of this is, if she does just a few (hell maybe even one) interview and even write a book, she'll have more then enough money to pay the bill.

  26. 26

Re: barny – I hope then she would kill you also and leave your lifeless body in the woods to rot as well. Pull a complete misery on your ass!

Re: barny – why is it that people who feels she is guilty have boring lives? you obviously followed the trial .. at least some of it and are here posting about it. aren't you one with a boring live as well?

I too am one of those who believe she murdered her poor little baby and got away with it. luckily for her she was able to ride around with her baby for a month hiding from her mother, until the baby was decayed some before tossing her into the woods after all the searches there ended.. how lucky for her that no one would return there after she tossed her baby away like trash, and allow the baby to decay further to such a pt where no tissue was left behind. people get convicted on circumstantial evidence MOST of the time. You don't always have a weapon or finger print or dna.. doesn't mean you didn't do it or it can't be proved! the jury was just too stupid to realize that! sounds like you were too.. or you just think more with your balls and little head!

  28. 28

The jury did not convict her, that means she is not guilty of murder. Our system of justice is the best there is anywhere and you idiots that say she did it but got off should have been prosecuted for being there because obviously you were there and helped cover things up for you to be able to say that she did it with such personal knowledge and despite the verdict. Yes, she should pay the costs. She was convicted of lying, and Judge Belli would not have ordered it if it were not the right thing to do.

  29. 29

She is NOT GUILTY! Of course the many of the jury is going to go ahead and say now they "felt sick" signing off on the verdict. That's because they're terrified of their names being exposed and the death threats that may ensue to their spouses and/or children. There WAS no physical evidence presented in this case by the prosecution. You must be convicted BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT, and there was SO much reasonable doubt in this case. What "evidence" did the prosecution present, aside from the fact that she's a liar, she lied about the 31 days, and she partied? That's enough to sentence someone to DEATH?! Get back to your Nancy Grace, PLEASE. And for the idiots that think "if you want to commit a crime, do it in Florida"…we have more people on death row than ANY other state - INCLUDING Texas. There was NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE. So she's either a perfect crime sociopath genius or she didn't do it. I'm going with the latter.
