Occupy Wall Street Protestors Arrested!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooPerezTVEvents

This is getting ugly.

Check out the video (above) of Occupy Wall Street protesters getting arrested while fighting for their cause.

For those of you who aren't aware of this movement, here's the group's mission as described on their website:

On the 17th of September, we want to see 20,000 people to flood into lower Manhattan, set up beds, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months.

Like our brothers and sisters in Egypt, Greece, Spain, and Iceland, we plan to use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America. We also encourage the use of nonviolence to achieve our ends and maximize the safety of all participants.

More about the group from their website:

Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%.

The original call for this occupation was published by Adbusters in July; since then, many individuals across the country have stepped up to organize this event, such as the people of the NYC General Assembly and US Day of Rage. There'll also be similar occupations in the near future such as October2011 in Freedom Plaza, Washington D.C.

What do U think of Occupy Wall Street? Do U agree with their cause???

At least someone is doing something to stand up to the big guy.

  4. 4

Considering its the jackoffs on wallstreet causing the majority of the problems I think they should step it up to a bit more violent approach. For too long have these greedy twats controlled Washington.

  5. 5

These people are causing a disruption to those of us who actually live downtown. Some of us have to actually work everyday and they are causing quiet a disruption in our daily routine.

  6. 6

At least it looks like those who SHOULD be getting the blame are getting some blame. I support them

  7. 7

Wall street is the most corrupt place on Earth. They should all be hung or thrown in jail. Can't wait till robots are invented and start doing these jobs and police jobs because humans are too easily corrupted by $$$$$ and power.

  8. 8

Wall Street, bankers (including the federal reserve), and our politicians are corrupting our country! They're staling from US through inflation tax, bailouts, and rounds of QE, which is obliterating the middle class. (This is why I say Ron Pail 2012!!) I can't wait for the day when American's finally get enough of this shit and we see law officers stand with the people instead of against them…

"Most of these people that show up are ALL EX WALL STREETER PISSED BECAUSE THEY AREN'T MAKING THE MILLIONS THEY USED TOO"

No, most of those people are unemployable Lefties who want all the working people to pay more taxes so they can live off the government dole and never work.

KUDOS FOR THEM! IT”S ABOUT TIME! THE POLICE, LIKE ALWAYS, IS PROTECTING THE RICH! WALL STREET GUYS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF LIVES OF THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS! WALL STREET GUYS SHOULD GET KILLED!

Re: Alexima – Wow! You probably oppose the death penalty too!! Scumbag talk!!!

  13. 13

Of course… they're handcuffs - they're suposed to be tight. And if those idiots stopped resisting arrest, they probably wouldn't be bleeding and getting dragged to a squad car. "They're tearing down our tents for no reason!" - Ummm, no, for a good reason - you're disrupting the flow of traffic for people walking to & from work. That don't have the luxury of sitting around, eating granola and brushing their armpit hair.

total hypocrisy by the American authorities. America is just as much an oppressive, propaganda driven regime as anywhere else in the world. The illusion of choice! Noam Chomsky got it right when he described manufactured consent. It's like when students protested here in the UK (not the recent riots but last year), crushed, belittled and dismissed as hooligans. They were protesting cuts to education brought about by the world economic crash and were shown on TV like on Crimewatch! (translation America's most wanted) it was pathetic. When are we westerners going to turn the tide?

Kudos to this movement, and to you morons that disagree obviously you agree with the greed and the thievery that continues to plague this country because of the wall street! This has nothing to do with left or right, it has to do with bringing democracy BACK to this country and Wall Street, Lobbyists, and the Federal Reserve are destroying what this country was built on! America will never move in the right direction as long as you have people complaining about their daily lives being disturbed when the people in protest are fighting for yours and everyone elses rights!
