We are very disappointed to hear this.

According to new reports, Ryan Gosling, who recently starred as a stunt driver/getaway man in Drive, was actually arrested for driving under the influence back in 2005!

The actor was pulled over and arrested on May 17th, 2005 by authorities, and later pled "no contest" to a misdemeanor charge of "exhibiting speed," despite being initially charged with "driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs" and "driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or greater," and was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay $849 in fines!

Apparently, “exhibiting speed” is a pretty commonplace negotiation tactic for defense attorneys in lieu of a DUI charge.

Wow - if this is true, then this is NOT very seksi…or COOL! At all!

Just stoopid! And dangerous!

Hopefully this was a big wake up call for him, and he knows much better than to do something like this now!

  2. 2

wow.. Your journalistic prowess is amazing. 6 year old news story. who could match your genius? who, I ask?

  3. 3

The fact that you are bringing up "news" that is really old is one thing. To seemingly change your opinion on someone just like that, someone that you have done nothing but gush over, over something that they did years ago? Well that just makes you a bit of an asshole really.

If a person performs all court-ordered classes, community service, pays fines, etc. and does it all respectfully and in a timely manner (unlike, say, LL anyone?), this should be done and over with business. Especially if the behavior (or any other inappropriate, bad choice behavior) isn't repeated.

He is just an actor people. Not a god. His face will be sliding off just like Brad's in a few years.

  6. 6

Seriously, this was six years ago, so who cares? Now, I know drinking and driving is really really really stupid, but people make mistakes. This was six years ago, there is NO reason to bring it up now.

Re: MichmasterflexRe: Hayworth Honey – Uhh no. There is literally ZERO excuse to drink and drive. None. What.So.Ever. That applies double to good looking people and triple to rich people. Theres 0 excuse for it. The fact that he willingly CHOSE to get behind the wheel of a car makes him an idiot.

  8. 8

Really, six years later??? What is the point of bringing this "news" up now? He made an inexcusable decision, but why report on it now?

  9. 9

Used to be a time when A LOT of people, adults, business men, housewived, drank and drove. Were they evil people?

.08 is the limit today. Being slightly over can come from a slow metabolism not idiocy.

    Get over it.

I agree with Michmasterflex, we All do mistakes.have you ever done anything wrong NookiesWA ?? just asking !

  11. 11

who cares!!!!!!! he's still awesome and hot. why can't you get arrested and stay in jail

Re: NookiesWA – There is also no reason to use that many periods. Ever.

  13. 13

This shouldn't have been brought up.

It servers no purpose, I don't care what happened back in 2005 .. it's almost 2012.

    slow news day is slow.

Re: NookiesWA – There's also no excuse to being a racist homophobic kunt - but.you.still.are.

Re: nordic girl – How can anyone with half a brain (this is America after all so I realized this) rationalize drunk driving and turn it into a "well we all make mistakes" …No, There is no mistake in going to a bar, pounding down drink after drink and then DECIDING to knowingly stick the key in the door, open the door up, turn the car on and then drive while being intoxicated. Theres no excuse for it. Do not try to rationalize it. DUI'ers need to be punished way more severe than what they are. Oh sure he DUI'ed..Lets give him a slap on the wrist we won't do anything until he kills someone. Hopefully the brain dead morons that are sitting here going "oh its no big deal" gets hit by someone DUI and they get paralyzed for life.

Re: GayRay – Actually theres plenty of reasons. Black people are annoying and act like monkeys I can't hold it against them because they literally have not evolved all the way from their previous ape ancestors. Gays whine, bitch and moan while thinking taking a dick in the ass makes them special. Mexicans come here illegally, bring their shitty weed with them and leech off the system. Theres a couple good reasons for ya! Now silence homo.

  17. 17

Who cares? This is an old story.

  18. 18

I thought Mormons did not drink alcohol. Huh!

  19. 19

Re: ChrisJ – He was raised Mormon, but he no longer practices the religion. I agree that it is really stupid to drive drunk and/or high (as the story doesn't really specify what influence he was under), but people do make mistakes and luckily no one was hurt. I'll bet 99% of the naysayers on here have done the same thing after a couple of drinks and were just lucky that they weren't pulled over.

FYI: Drive was the worst movie I've seen in a loooong time. Nothing even remotely interesting happens until halfway through it. It's basically an hour and 40 minutes of long awkward pauses and staring contests. Do not see this movie unless you're looking for a cool dark place to take a nap. Just sayin'.
