Tasmania Wants To Legalize Gay Marriage!

It's not just an American issue! It's a world issue!
And Australia is home to the latest group of open-minded, progressive thinkers.
The Tasmanian House of Assembly has a passed a motion to call upon the federal government for marriage equality.
Greens leader Nick McKim insists he will push for state legislation if the Federal Government does not comply by the end of the year.
By voting in support of marriage equality, Tasmania has written itself into this country's history books, as a national leader in advocating a compassionate and progressive society. It is now time for the Federal Government to act to remove legally entrenched discrimination. We've come a long way to show we are in fact a tolerant and compassionate community.
Amazing news for our friends down unda! A-mazing.
By the way, this isn't the first big Australian act of equal rights support for the gay community. Sydney is home to the Australian Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which parades equality support (as pictured above with Lily Tomlin).

I’m Australian and I support gay marriage in Australia, I find it quite shocking that it isn't legal in a country that prides itself on being modern and open minded. The mardi gras brings in so much money for our tourism industry and I find it ironic that we celebrate and embrace mardi gras so much yet we won't allow gay people to have the same rights as everyone else in the world.
This month Austrailia added a thrid gender for use on passports….
Now M - F - X for transgenders
It's a first - may the seed grow
mmmmmm progressive - that explains the Australian's national obssession with blackface, huh Perez.
