We keep waiting for him to bring the music back, but apparently he is just not interested!
Justin Timberlake just agreed to star in the upcoming biopic about the legendary Neil Bogart.
Bogart was the co-founder of Casablanca Records — a company that boomed in the 70s, launching the careers of KISS, The Village People, Donna Summer, Parliament, etc..
Bogart died of cancer in 1982. He was only 39.
Left behind were his two sons, both of whom have been working on creating this film for three decades.
Evan "Kidd" Bogart and Timothy Scott Bogart insisted on holding off on production until they could find the perfect person to portray their father.
And when Justin was suggested, they said:
This is saga about a young dreamer who started with nothing and came of age in the 60s and 70s, believing anything was possible and every risk was worth taking. We needed an young actor who can carry this picture. When Justin walked into the room, that was the moment I had been waiting for 29 years. He has the exact same energy as my father, the same glimmer in his eye.
Well we can't argue with you there! We just want to hear new music too!
