Waaaay back in November '09, we first heard that Stephen King was writing a sequel book to The Shining called Dr. Sleep.
At the time, King said the book would "jump ahead 40 years from where the last novel left off and follow the story of Danny Torrance, son of The Shining's lead character, Jack."
Then yesterday we got a glimpse of the new book, as King read an excerpt from Dr. Sleep (above)!
Now, even MORE details have been revealed about the Shining sequel! Here's what we're hearing:
- In Dr. Sleep, Danny Torrance is a hospice worker who uses his powers to help suffering patients die without any pain
- Apparently, there are vampires in the new book
- No specific publication date has been announced, but King is "almost done" with the book
All sounds great…except the vampires! We're not 100% sure how necessary that is, but then again we're inclined to give Stephen King the benefit of the doubt.
What do U think about these new Dr. Sleep deets? Exciting???
