Perez: Hey everybody, it's Perez, joined by Devon Sawa. Now –
Devon Sawa: Hey everybody.
Perez: We are going to be seeing more of you very soon because Friday you're going to be on "Nikita"?
Devon Sawa: Yes.
Perez: On the CW.
Devon Sawa: Yes, on the CW at 8 o'clock.
Perez: At 8 o'clock.
Devon Sawa: 8 o'clock CW.
Perez: And you've been on the show already?
Devon Sawa: I have. This will be my fifth episode. I'm just fortunate the fans are really digging this character and they want me back.
Perez: So it's an occasional guest star kind of scenario?
Devon Sawa: I come back to kick some ass every once in a while basically.
Perez: And this season can you tell us if you're going to be on just that one episode or more than that?
Devon Sawa: No, you're going to be seeing a little bit more of Owen this year. I'm –
Perez: How much more?
Devon Sawa: Well right now they've got me for three, but I'm pretty sure there'll be more.
Perez: Well hopefully.
Devon Sawa: Hopefully, definitely hopefully.
Perez: Now, tell us a little bit about your character.
Devon Sawa: Sure, absolutely. I look at Owen like the male Nikita; they're both from division, they're both trained assassins, and they both kind –
Perez: So you really kick ass?
Devon Sawa: Yeah, I really kick ass. And I do all my own stunts, and it's a lot of fun, and you know what I kind of go off into the world, and I got my own thing going on, and I'm helping Nikita out, and that's the Maggie Q character.
Perez: Have you done movies where you had to be very physical like that doing stunts?
Devon Sawa: No, this is my first fight movie, or fight show. And I do everything myself. I train over a gym here in Hollywood, and do it all.
Perez: Is there shirtlessness?
Devon Sawa: [Watch above.]
Perez: Now someone like Jonathan Taylor Thomas recently came out saying that he's not quite sure if he wants to be doing more acting in front of the camera. But you are.
Devon Sawa: Yeah, no, I got to the point. When I was around 25, I had been working since the age of elven, I was kind of burnt out, and I just went home for a few years. And while I was at home, I realized this is what I really loved to do; I did some other stuff there. And now I'm back, and it really truly is, like I love acting, I love being in this business, I love doing this stuff, so I'm glad to be back.
Perez: So at age eleven you started?
Devon Sawa: Age — I did Nerf com — I was a Nerf SpokesKid.
Perez: That was your first gig?
Devon Sawa: My first gigs.
Perez: And was your — did you have pushy stage parents or is this something that you really wanted to do?
Devon Sawa: No, it's a funny story, because actually in grade five I was the class clown. I was, I was obnoxious in class, and so the teacher suggested that you know if I wanted to be the center of attention, maybe I should try acting. And so they put me into a theatre performance company, and the rest of kind of history. And then I did those Nerf commercials, and then I got "Casper".
Perez: And then it became like this whole like teenybop thing.
Devon Sawa: Yeah.
Perez: Did you, did you enjoy — were you able to take advantage of that?
Devon Sawa: You know what, when I was that age, I wanted nothing to do with it. I –
Perez: What about when you were 18?
Devon Sawa: I was replaced by N'Sync by the time I was 18.
Perez: No really?
Devon Sawa: Yeah, N'Sync came along and that was it, out the door me and JT (inaudible).
Perez: You were 18 in '96? No?
Devon Sawa: '97. I don't know.
Perez: By then you were replaced by N'Sync. Damn you Timberlake.
Devon Sawa: Damn you N'Sync. Yeah, no, but then I went and did "Idle Hands" and then a new kind of my young adult career started and –
Perez: Can you sing?
Devon Sawa: I cant.
Perez: You cannot?
Devon Sawa: No.
Perez: You could have had a second career in a boy band.
Devon Sawa: No, no I can't sing or dance really.
Perez: So you never really — did you have pretend — does this happen? Did you have –
Devon Sawa: All the singing and dancing.
Perez: — pretend relationships with like other like females that were like acting? Does that ever happen? Especially when you're that young. Like oh lets pretend date so we can both be more famous?
Devon Sawa: No.
Devon Sawa: No, I was never that guy.
Perez: Did you date actresses that we might know?
Devon Sawa: I dated a few but you know.
Perez: Nothing long term?
Devon Sawa: Nothing long term. I actually –
Perez: There was no Britney to your Justin?
Devon Sawa: No, I was, I dated a few Canadian girls. I liked girls outside of the business, a lot. You know there was a few but you know.
Perez: And what about now? You dating now? You married?
Devon Sawa: I'm engaged.
Devon Sawa: To a girl from Canada, and she's not in the business, thank god, and you know that way we got stuff to talk about and –
Perez: Does she — do you live together?
Devon Sawa: Yeah.
Perez: So is she with you in Toronto when you film?
Devon Sawa: No, she's doing her own thing. She's got her own job.
Perez: She's got a normal job?
Devon Sawa: She's got a normal job, and that's, we both like it that way.
Perez: Do you watch much television?
Devon Sawa: I do.
Perez: What do you love watching?
Devon Sawa: "Curb your Enthusiasm", "Breaking Bad", all the, you know all the typical big shows right now. "Walking Dead" is a — I love "Walking Dead".
Perez: No "Glee"?
Devon Sawa: What's going on? Is that bad?
Perez: You don't have to.
Devon Sawa: I'm not a Gleek.
Perez: What, what was your favorite movie of yours that you ever made?
Devon Sawa: [Watch above.]
