Twitter Wants The @Trademark For The Term 'Tweet'

Either way, we've just learned that Twitter is trying to trademark the term once again…after failing twice before.
Here's what the company had to say about it in a statement:
"It is in the best interests of our users and developers for the meaning of 'Tweet' to be preserved to prevent any confusion, so we are taking action to protect its meaning."
Is Twitter somehow forgetting that before their company ever existed, the term 'Tweet' was associated with birds???
And what about Tweety Bird? Got anything to say about this, Warner Bros???
