'King of Infomercials' Don Lapre Found Dead Of Apparent Suicide

don lapre has committed suicide

Very, very sad.

"King of Infomercials" Don Lapre was set to appear in court today over "41 counts of conspiracy and fraud," as a result of selling a product called The Greatest Vitamin in the World…which ended up being not so great.

Instead of facing the music, Don chose to end his life, and yesterday he was discovered in "a large amount of blood" in his jail cell. We're hearing that his death appeared to be a result of cutting.

Unfortunately, this doesn't come as a complete surprise. Here's what Don had written on his website regarding his major legal trouble:

"…Because the majority of people did not make money, in spite of everyone of them being able to make as many $1000 checks as they wanted, I am left to fight a battle that will for sure destroy what energy I have left inside…"

Rest in peace, Don.

No one deserves to die like that. Very sad.

I don't think he was in jail because people did not make money. He was charged with fraud while taking customers for 52 million dollars. According to the FDA the product was BOGUS.

I just took out 50 "Tiny Classified Ads" that read "Don Lupre is DEAD- Long Live the SCAM KING!" Too bad for his wife and kids they don't deserve this last and final SCAM of being a loving Dad and husband.

He was such a positive individual, but I know nothing of the charges he faced. RIP.

How sad. He had looks, talent, but only felt he could make his way in the world by deceiving people. I enjoy being honest. It doesn't make me rich, but it makes me proud. RIP to someone who had no pride. It could have been better.

I knew him very well, while I do think he had a very diluted idea of what his products do, I also think he was just a little bit stupid. Remember, he didn't do well in school, he married very young, and was largely just a great face and personality. My heart breaks for his two kids and wife because they truly were innocent victims in this matter. This is the second time he tried to commit suicide, the first while he was living in an LA Fitness to evade his arrest for these crimes. I think he was just a great personality who believed people a little too much and had a great skill for glazing over negative aspects about things both to consumers and in his own head.
