Amanda Knox Is Headed Home

After four long years, she's finally going to sleep in her own room again. She's going to be where her family and friends have been waiting for her since this whole ordeal started. She's going to get to live the life she was deprived. This is her time now.

Yesterday, Amanda Knox was found innocent of the murder of Meredith Kercher after DNA evidence was found to be insufficient and unreliable. After returning to prison to collect her personal things, Amanda was swiftly escorted to the airport to get her back to Seattle.

With the help of former FBI agent Steve Moore, a longtime Knox supporter, Amanda and her family left early this morning for London, where they will connect with a transfer to Seattle. Before leaving the country, Amanda released a brief statement, thanking those "who shared my suffering and helped me survive with hope."

Safe travels, Amanda - and welcome home.

I think you need to remember that an innocent girl lost her life. She is the REAL victim in all of this. Her conviction may have been overturned but there is still something VERY shady about her. MY thoughts are with the family of Meredith Kercher at this time.

Unfortunately Meredith will never be able to go home. I feel for Amanda and her family, but I think that the real victim sort of got lost in this case.

Yes an innocent girl did lose her life and she has been forgotten through out this whole process. but Rudy Guede has also been forgotten as the 3rd person to be arrested in the case as well. HIS bloody handprints, and DNA was found on AND inside the victims body. He elected to do a "fast-Track" trial which unfortunately ended up being very low key and only received 16 years in jail. The real killer is behind bars, and finally the innocent are able to walk free.

Well she wasn't actually proven to be innocent, the case was overturned due to lack of evidence but that doesn't make her innocent. To be honest I think it's ridiculous that she was painted as the victim rather than Meredith.

This seems to be the year for female murderers

Mario, you know nothing of the U.S. justice system, so you're even less qualified to comment on the Italian Knox trial. Her conviction was overturned because of flaws in the evidence, not because she's not guilty (this is not unlike the Casey Anthony trial if you think of it in those terms). There's something very wrong with much of what Knox said during the investigation, and is it not true that the Italian prosecutors are going to appeal the overturn? Meredith Kercher deserves the attention and pity; she can't ever live the life she was deprived of. You're such a shallow asshole.

Wonder who paid off the Italians to allow her to be free. People died and she's most likely tied to the events that caused the death. Go figure, us Americans love to make people look like heros after they've been freed. She'll make a bunch of money now on talk shows and books-all the while the victim rots in her grave.

  8. 8

Apparently the family of Meredith Kercher are going to appeal. I hope it is true, i really do feel like Knox is guilty.

Re: La Garse – Exactly. Had Casey Anthony be charged guilty the first time around, 4 or 5 years later when some of the shock had worn off a jury would have voted her innocent an appeal trials likely for lack of evidence. It is pretty much the same thing here except public opinion won the first time around. I do not know the facts of the case well enough to talk about specific evidence, but for everyone saying 'the man that did this is put away!', you do know that murder can take more than one person? Even if she wasn't there to deal the death blow doesn't mean she doesn't have a part in it. I sincerely hope that people remember Meredith as the true victim and stop making victims out of those who are alive and can see their families faces.

Re: Kander – 47 stab wounds and two knives used… There is almost certainly another killer out there walking free. Whether it was Knox, Sollecito or someone never even initially connected with the case, justice has not been fully done for Meredith and her family.

I'm glad she's on her way home. I agree with yesterday's verdict and believe she's innocent.

  12. 12

All i'm saying is, that somebody who was innocent would not of had to change their story twice. RIP Meredith, the real victim.

  13. 13

Brrrrr…She's just so EVIL LOOKING. Those eyes…

    Re: La Garse
You're the moron. Her conviction was overturned due to shitty police work. Tell me smarty, how does someone engage in a drug fueled sex game and leave no trace of herself behind. Not a hair, not a skin cell…..nothing. The real killer confessed. You remember the West African nightmare that sits in jail right now? You know….the guy that PLEAD GUILTY? I feel sorry for the victims family and for the victim, but Amanda had nothing to do with it. The lack of evidence proves that. No way is a girl going knife to throat and getting out without leaving a trace behind.

  15. 15

Everyone knows she's not exactly innocent, Perez.

  16. 16

are you fucking kidding me?Everybody here in Italy is pissed off..Amanda and her boyfriend are murderers, what a sad day for justice.I feel bad for Meredith's family, they must be devasted over this.

  17. 17

Kinky Foxy Knoxy will now make millions and I am sure she will use a bunch of that money for find the real killers, just like OJ. LOL

  18. 18

My god look at those evil eyes Now this is a real witch

  19. 19

I can't believe some of you are actually saying she's guilty based on some aspect of her PHYSICAL APPEARANCE! How would you feel if you were being accused of murder and, knowing you're innocent, knew people were saying you must be guilty because you "have evil looking eyes" or you "just look guilty". Do you have any idea how asinine and ignorant you're making yourselves look? I pray to God none of you are ever chosen for jury duty.

  20. 20

    She is so damn sexy.

  21. 21

Re: shut-it – The jury could have voted one of two ways: insufficient evidence or total innocence. They chose the latter. Try reading a news article once in a while.

  22. 22

God, why can't you morons read a news article? From MSNBC:

"The jury had two options to acquit: determining there wasn't enough evidence to uphold the conviction or that the pair simply didn't commit the crime. The jury determined the latter, clearing Knox and Sollecito completely. "
