Another one bites the dust!

Lee DeWyze, the season nine winner of American Idol, has reportedly been dropped by RCA Records after his option officially expired in September!

However, his rep reveals that the singer is "in a good place right now" and is apparently working on new music!

Frankly, we're not too surprised!

He didn't seem like one of the competition that would really go on to do too much!

Oh well!

Who knows what will happen??

Are we surprised by this? This is just another example of how this lousy show keeps churning out mediocre talent…once they win the "contest", they are rarely heard from again…exceptions are Carrie Underwood (she actually HAS talent) and one other??….America is so enamored with this show and votes their hearts out, yet we cannot get people out to vote at election time (politically that is)….just another sign of dumbing down of America….snore.

Can say this a shocker. I'd forgot who he was until I read the part about American Idol winner. I think of all the winners, Kelly Clarkson has had the most commercial success. I think being the first winner really helped her. But to her credit, the girl can sing.

I'm sure they couldn't wait to drop him either.

how come he didn't have people jumping all over him to sing their songs or hook up with them for duets or for concerts? What went wrong with this very talented singer?

Re: iloverickymartin – Because there's nothing special about him. He may sound ok but there's that's not enough when there's a million people out there that sound ok.

And THIS is why American Idol, X-Factor and the rest of these shows AREN'T a place for new talent. It's a place for Simon Cowell, network & label exec's to make money -off of viewers, fans and artists. It has NEVER been about finding new talent and giving them a life long carreer.
Young people are given hopes, made to sign slave contracts and are then dropped on their *sses as soon as the new season hits the tv screen.
As long as we still watch this crap, young people will continue to do nothing but want to be stars and then get f*cked over once they actually DO make it.
    Booo!

Re: Scatter – To be honest, there's not much intersting about Britney Spears or the Jonas Brothers either, the difference is that they have an extreme amount of backup from the record labels who pump money into promoting them -which creates a need for them and leads to the success they have. The difference for the winners of these shows is that they might even be more talented but nobody is spending a dime to promote their futur. They're expected to be hot until the next season kicks in and the next winner takes their place, also, they're expected to survive on the promotion they get from just being on the show. Well, we can all agree on that not being enough since these winners are dropped left to right.
Sadly, today, becoming a successful artist in the music biz is no longer about having a great voice or even looking good, it's all in how much money the label is willing to spend on you to MAKE you a star.
