This is very respectful of them!
Amanda Knox has finally made it back to the states, after her murder conviction in Italy was finally overturned when DNA evidence was found to be insufficient and unreliable, and now, in her home city of Seattle, Washington, local news radio outlets have sent her family the following letter, which lets them know that she will be getting peace and quiet from them until she's ready!
I’m writing as a representative of KOMO-4, KING-5, KIRO-7 and KOMO Newsradio to let you and Amanda’s family know that all these stations are pulling out of Amanda’s West Seattle neighborhood – that includes all of the Knox family homes – to allow the family the peace they have asked for.
None of the stations will have any presence in those neighborhoods beginning immediately. If there is any broadcast media staking out the family homes or Amanda’s family, it is not KING, KOMO, KIRO TV or KOMO radio.
All the stations pooled their resources today to cover her arrival, and that includes the one helicopter that flew on her arrival at Sea-Tac. KIRO-7’s chopper was acting on behalf of that pool this afternoon to minimize the disruption.
We agree that it is vitally important that Amanda and her family have the time they need to spend together without outside distractions. When Amanda is ready to talk with Seattle broadcast media, these 4 stations again would be willing to act as a pool to facilitate that. We hope the family will consider our request.
Please convey our deep thanks to Amanda and her family for their help and patience throughout her ordeal; and please give the family our best wishes.
On behalf of all four stations,
After everything that's gone on, we think it's more than respectful for them to give she and her family some time away from the spotlight!
Here's hoping that other media outlets will do the same, and hold back until Amanda is ready to talk!
