Valjean, At Last! The Biebs Might Be In Les Mis!

| Filed under: CanadialandBroadway BabiesJustin Bieber

Sorry Hugh Jackman. Not your star-studded, highly-anticipated movie version of the Claude-Michel Schonberg musical.

No, Justin Bieber's been offed a role in the stage version of Les Miserables in his homeland of Canada.

The musical is heading to Toronto in a few weeks and producer Cameron Mackintosh reveals he is simply dying to have the Biebs come on as Marius for the all new "all-Canadian" production.

"You're going to have a completely new, all-Canadian production opening at the Royal Alex in July, 2012 . I would love to hear Justin Bieber sing 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables'. Please spread the word that he'd be more than welcome in the show."

Well, there sure as hell wouldn't be any empty chairs or empty tables if he did take the gig! The Bieblievers would be there in droves! Don't think Broadway is really his jam though.

Still, we'd book our ticket to Toronto today if he said yes, but only to see if he is better or worse than Nick Jonas! LOLz!

i'm gonna laugh my ass off when bieber becomes another new kids on the block. In 5 years it's gonna be Justin Who? This kid really needs an ego check.

He would be SOOOOOOOOO much more worst than Nick Jonas! He just doesn't fit the part at all!

Sorry, I thought you were serious Perez. Justin Beiber, in LES MIS???? For God's sake Canada, I know you liked him, but there's no way he should be NEAR musical theater.

Trust me, we do NOT like him up here. Keep him, he's yours now!

Re: sensfan999 – That was hilarious what you said. In truth though, at least at nine years of age Nick Jonas was already in musical theatre on Broadway. I believe Justin was busking on the streets of Stratford when he was nine. Oh well you have to start somewhere and both boys have known huge success.

Yes.. we are very excited about it, Celine is also rumoured to be coming on as Fantine and K.D Lang as Valjean… that'll fill the seats!!!

I can't wait for him to disappear a'la the Jonas Brothers & so forth. I mean it shows something that his career can't be too hot if he is releasing a X-mas album. Everyone knows X-mas albums are last ditch efforts to save their stardom.

I'd like to see it happening…
