Okay, so maybe the Simpsons cast will have to stay in SLIGHTLY less luxurious villas the next time they travel to Hawaii. LOLz.
To recap….(deep breaths)….
On Tuesday, we learned that Fox was considering cancelling The Simpsons if the voice cast didn't take a 45% pay cut.
Then yesterday, both sides were prepping for negotiations to decide whether or not the show would continue for at least one more season.
Then earlier today, we learned that The Simpsons would be cancelled after NOON if the voice cast didn't accept the proposed pay cut from Fox.
In an effort to play hero, voice actor Harry Shearer released a statement offering to take a 70% pay cut in return for some profit participation…but it seemed like that rogue move may have done more bad than good.
Now, the noon deadline has come and gone, but we MAY be in luck because sources are saying that the voice cast is likely to accept a pay cut…but not as harsh a cut as 45%.
To give you an idea, the voice cast currently makes $400,000 an episode, and if they took a 45% pay cut, they'd be making around $250K/episode. So, they'll still be taking home a salary in between those two figures…assuming it all works out.
Please give us a solid sign that everything's going to be okay, Fox! The antici-pation is killing us!!!!!!
How do U think this is all going to end? With more Simpsons…or with a "D'Oh!"???
