Pan Am Ratings Down

MAYDAY! MAYDAY!

ABC's Pan Am just lost more steam!

The show revolving around sexy stewardesses only made it to third place in the overnights at 10pm with a 5.2 rating.

That's ten percent down from last week!

Flying behind Desperate Housewives just is not working for them!!

They better figure out something quick before they crash and burn!

They lost me in the first 10 minutes when the captain of a 707 was this 24 year old hunk who's hair was cut way too long for a pilot in the mid Sixties. The pilot would be at least 40-45 years old and each of his flight crew seasoned veterans, not college school boys. Ricci looked the part.

I love this show :( I hope it can keep up.

  3. 3

I like this show a lot!

  4. 4

I love this show especially because Christina Ricci is in it and I love her!!!

  5. 5

The new shows are really struggling.
TV viewership is down across the board.
    I hope it stays on…

I bailed after the first episode. The espionage and links to historical events is just silly, and the dialogue is laughable. Sorry, Pan Am is no Mad Men.

  7. 7

damn! now Christina Ricci wont be able to afford those lip injections. lulz

  8. 8

I love this show!! I hope it doesn't get cancelled…

  9. 9

    Its a pretty bad show.

  10. 10

Too bad. The only weakness in the show is the youth of the pilot. Its entertaining, intelligent, and quality - so Im afraid ABC will pull its usual boneheaded moved and cancel it.

ABC seems to give thier shows more of a chance unlike NBC. so i dont see it going anytime soon. they might give it to alteast christmas

As someone who lost a family member on the terrorist bombing of Pan Am 103, i am horribly offended by the title of this article.. "The Plane is Crashing." A Pan Am flight did crash, in real life, resulting in the loss of 270 lives in 1988. It is horrible enough that ABC had poor enough taste to create a show exhibiting the glamorous world of Pan Am, causing pain to the hundreds of people who lost family members and friends everytime a commercial, billboard, magazine ad, etc. is crammed down their throats. But it is really nauseating to see a headling like this, making a play on words on something that should never be joked about. Though we are thrilled that the ratings are going down, giving us hope that the show will soon be canceled, it is not appropriate to describe the ratings fall in this manner, and I hope you will think more carefully before you write the next article about the hopefully continued ratings drops.

    Re: ~St@rlet84~ – that's why I like it!

I was very excited about this show, but it's just not what I thought it would be. It's kinda boring and slow.

Re: wanderer – that young pilot really bothered me too. in fact, i have watched every episode to give it a chance, but the age of that pilot and his modern looking hair really bugs the hell out of me. TV needs to be better than that. also, some of the attitudes of the girls, especially the christine ricci character are all wrong for that time period (early 60s). plus, the show tries to be seriouse, but then it tries to be funny at certain times and the mixing is not working at all. if they dont fix the show, im sure it will go off the air. it has too many problems.

Re: kylieg – Seriously? So, should we never make comments about Honda or Toyota? It's a play on words. Maybe you shouldn't be so sensitive.

Re: wanderer – and don't forget a dot head as the co pilot. I don't think so. There weren't that many dot heads around in the 60's. so many things aren't real from that era in the show. Many wrongs. I know I lived in those years and know what was and what wasn't. Very boring show.

Re: Jenni1361 – sensitive? my mom's brother was murderd in a Pan Am plane crash. I don't think it's being sensitive to be upset by an article titled "The Plane is Crashing" in referenced to a tv show. Obviously Perez meant it to be a joke and play on words, but it was extremely INsensitive as a Pan Am plane DID crash, KILLING 270 people.

Re: kylieg – I think Jenni1361 was more referring to your comment

'It is horrible enough that ABC had poor enough taste to create a show exhibiting the glamorous world of Pan Am, causing pain to the hundreds of people who lost family members and friends everytime a commercial, billboard, magazine ad, etc. is crammed down their throats.

Because really, if the world refrained from advertising anything that linked to anyone dieing, there would be no advertisement or TV, that is just plain stupid.

It would be like me complaining about a TV episode that has the theme of suicide by jumping because my uncle on my dads side jumped off my 10th floor apartment building, as I said, just plain stupid.
