Steven Soderbergh’s Liberace Film Headed To HBO

Kinda a bummer it couldn't get distribution, but at least we'll get to see it.
HBO Films has picked up Steven Soderbergh's labor-of-love project Behind The Candelabra, a Liberace feature that has Michael Douglas attached as the man himself.
The behind-the-scenes biopic will take an in-depth look at Liberace's life and love with Scott Thorson, played by Matt Damon. When asked why the network decided to greenlight the project, HBO Films president Len Amato admitted:
“This is a story that’s going to surprise a lot of people. It’s funny, heartbreaking and always fascinating, and we are delighted that Jerry and Steven brought the film to HBO.”
We're glad you're glad. Doesn't seem like the team had very much choice in the matter.
Oh whatever. We get to see Michael Douglas get his flamBOYant on! It's going to be wonderful!
Congrats to all on FINALLY getting this flick off the ground.

This is going to be EPIC! Liberace was all about the indulgence in life and this new generation or anyone that's not familiar with him will get to know who he is and how sometimes having everything you want is not always perfect and fun.
Great project, but poor casting. Douglas is a wonderful actor, but Liberace was dead before he had aged as much as Douglas.
michael douglas is too old for this role
