Akon: GaGa's Her Own Free B*tch!

| Filed under: Music MinuteAkonLady GaGa

Akon Lady GaGa

Back when Lady GaGa partied with the disco balls and poker chips, she had some creative guidance from Akon.

The two worked together diligently to make sure everything GaGaloo put out was fantastical.

But now, since she's grown into Mother Monster, Akon completely trusts her to be at the helm of her own creativity.

Akon explains:

So the way it works is, GaGa's on Kon Live/Streamline, which is Vincent Herbert, and it's distributed through Interscope. And the first two albums, we were fully involved in everything creative when it comes to GaGa, and then, as she grows, she becomes more in tune with herself [and] what she wants to do. Now she has full control over her project, period. Everything you see of GaGa now is all from her brain and our job is just to make sure whatever she's thinking we can make into reality. So I guess more so with the approval processes and everything like that, we still do what we do, but creatively, 100 percent, it's all GaGa, and Vince does all the day-to-day stuff relating to GaGa.

But of course, we already knew this! She's been going in directions that move her, and we loveLOVElove it! Watching her experiment and take risks is always entertaining.

Ahhhh!! We want to see Marry the Night now!!

Fantastical? Her second album is a flop. One failed attempt at a hit after another.

as much as i think gaga sucks i got a suggestion

in the disco age 80s etc we had set dances like 'the hustle etc'

gaga needs her own dance … thats about the only thing she hasnt copied yet
how about the gaga dance club hit or something .. and dredge out john travolta . he was king of the dance floor
do the hustle i can still do the moves

ah ah ah ahhhhhhhh staying alive

  5. 5

If its 100% all gaga why does she need his approval??

    ahhh so much pink hyperlink

Perez loves the messed up girls (Gaga, Angelina) and skewers the pretty blond cheerleaders (J Anniston, J Simpson)!

@Mad Dog If u call GAGAs album a flop, then ur calling everyones album a flop (exept Adeles album) cuz Born This Way is the 2nd best selling album this year next to 21. Yes even excluding the 99 cents amazon promotion.

@SlaveMeh Did u not read? He was saying before they were involved in her creative proccess. Now they just approve it. In other words, everything u see is 100% from Gaga, but they had to approve it first. If they dont approve it, she has to come up with something else, but its still from her. I guess thats why she changed so much in this album i would assume

  10. 10

Anyone who is still saying this album is a flop obviously doesn't know what they're talking about. Gaga is here to stay haterz ;)

  11. 11

what narcissistic bitch sick of hearing her

  12. 12

"Born This Way" is a fucking disaster of an album. Seriously one of the worst of all time. You can really tell that they gave her full creative license, because it's complete garbage. Time to reign her back in.

  13. 13

He is trying desperately to distance himself from Born This Way. I don't blame him.

  14. 14

I'm still trying to figure out why some people seem to think that 7 million sales in 7 months makes Born This Way a flop, presumably maths is not their strong point. Or maybe they are trying to avoid the obvious conclusion - Gaga is here to stay bitches, deal with it, if you don't like her then fuck off and post about the people you do like. I always get the impression that SOME fans of other solo females (no I'm not naming names, you all know who they are - the fans and the solo females) feel threatened by Gaga's massive success and thus feel they have to put her down all the time, sad people with sad lives and nothing better to waste their energy on. Gaga's achievements, both in terms of sales and awards, speak for themselves ;o)

er abum flops and akon doesnt know anythingi have friends that worked with gaga and they said she is like a doll. she doesnt decide anything.her staff does.her creative director does.she even said it…. gaga is pretty borng.and all those stupid clothes she werars.its too much. she doesnt even designes them so ,…. she is not even original on clothes.isnt her creation.gaga became one of the worst artists ever. i never saw her being original… never.shes alwasy "inspired" in some otehr artist. she sounds fake to me all the time.thats why HER LATEST ALBUM WAS A MAJOR FLOP…. TRY NEXT LIFE

  16. 16

noone cares for gaga.shes a fraud and boring

  17. 17

    OVERRATED

Re: bruce016 – BTW was named the worst album of the year. her singles didnt went to #1 FLOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP shes a wannabe. and her attitude is annoying.shes so fake FACTS .ur blind

  19. 19

how can 7million in 4 months be a flop? all her singles are top 10 and btw was number 1. and just so you know her best songs are still not singles. shes saving them for last :) this is her best album so far and her tour will be amazing :D

Re: Saetana – sweety once u reach adulthood you will realize that quantity does not mean quality …. if you spend millions on marketing a album then no doubt its goin sell. gaga's record lable has spent more money selling her album then any other artist so obviouslyyyyy its goin sell. doesnt mean its any good…if you ask ppl over the age of 20 if the songs are actually good or creative in anyway then they would say hell no , thats why u dont hear her on the radio like u used to hear her older songs..honestly i listen to the radio alot i never hear her new songs…still hear just dance and thats about it…so please stop saying it sold this much so it isnt a flop bc its definalty the flop of the century

  21. 21

@lington I dont believe that. Way too many ppl on hte wen say they know her, or they know ppl that work with her etc. But i know 90% of those ppl make it up so that you cant argue with them. And i know thats ur case. PS: Everyone knows she doesnt design most of her clothes, she even names the designers herself. You dont need to have inside info to know that!

  22. 22

Re: lington – It is not a flop. If Born This Way is a flop, than that means that Femme Fatale, Loud, 21, and 4 are also flops like you are implying. Take a chill pill!

    23

taking risks meaning: ripping off other people`s work and trusting to get away with it?
caca and creativity - there are no bigger opposites in the world…

  24. 24

    Re: bundroallday
Well, sweety, did you go ahead and ask everyone over 20 whether or not they thought the album was good? Because your little scientific observation doesn't make you sound like you know any better. Once you reach adulthood, you shouldn't be writing as crappy as you do as well.

  25. 25

    Re: idcydk

…Stop saying everytime "she sold 7 million albums in 4 months", it's wrong totally wrong, in about 5 months we all know she sold officialy 5 million albums.
She said 7 million (i don't know why, to make believe people maybe) which inclue PUTTING ON SALE which means there'r 2 million albums in stores not sold yet.
So there's "just" 5 millions consumers who bought this album.
Go check official number of sales.

Re: bundroallday – Well, you gave me a good laugh anyway, given I'm 42 and have been listening to chart music since the 70's. Whilst Gaga probably has more young fans than old ones, there are plenty of people my age and older (I've seen people posting about their grandmothers liking her, especially the piano stuff) who love her music and think her new album is a major step forward for her, far less generic than some of The Fame album tracks and a more mature and cohesive body of work. I'm not quoting that figure of 7 million for Born This Way (album) out of thin air you know, its all over the internet and is lower than the figure given by Gaga's label of actual copies shipped. Fact is, BTW hasn't got the mass popular appeal of The Fame, which is no bad thing in my opinion, the one thing you got right is that copies sold don't reflect quality - however, that mainly applies to singles which tend to be impulse purchases a lot of the time. I bought Born This Way a couple of weeks after release and am still listening to it now, and (aside from an odd track or two) its just as good as the first time I heard it. So, forget the Fame era because we aren't going back there ;o)
