leo takes on another gay role in next movie

Okay, so we're not 100% sure if J. Edgar is being depicted as gay in Clint Eastwood's film, but it's becoming quite clear that Leo is very comfortable with gay subject matter.

Warner Bros announced that Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in a biopic about Alan Turing, who was "one of the most prominent math geniuses during World War II."

The screenplay called The Imitation Game was written by first-time screenwriter Graham Moore AND it sold to WB for SEVEN FIGURES! Quite a first sale for the newcomer writer!!!!!

The script is based on Andrew Hodges' biography entitled Alan Turing: The Enigma, and the story has been described as follows:

"[The story follows] the life and times of the brilliant British mathematician and criminally prosecuted homosexual whose tortured soul drove him to suicide by consuming a cyanide-laced apple."

Sounds like a sad, but important film. We'll definitely check it out when it gets released!

What do U think? Is Leo right for this role?

so glad those bigoted freaks who tried to repeal SB48 failed. it will be great that the history of gay people like Turning will finally be taught in schools. well at least in california.

Alan Mathison Turing, was an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist. He was highly influential in the development of computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of "algorithm" and "computation" with the Turing machine, which played a significant role in the creation of the modern computer. Turing is widely considered to be the father of computer science and artificial intelligence.

GAYCONVERSIONFORUM.COM - being gay is not a choice, becoming straight may be

The movie is not about the guy who is gay. It's about one of the greatest geniuses of mathematics, who helped to revolutionize the computer world. If he was gay it's just a choice, but we will not make a film that should be great (especially with Leo in the lead role) in a debate about homosexuality, that's cliché and quite inappropriate.

Re: Nanda23 – where's the debate? he was gay. that is part of the reason why he is so famous.. he helped create the machine that broke the german codes in world war 2 and the british government repaid him by chemically castrating him because he was gay, resulting in his suicide. that's kind of where the story is.. you know, that thing that you need to make a film?!

Yes Leo is perfect for any role this movie sounds very interesting can't wait to watch!

Why focus on just the fact that he's gay? It's becoming an obsession that as long as someone is gay or bi then you love, love, love them.

Re: electromouth – Everything today is about being gay or not… is a nonsense. The headlines speak only about the "famous gay"… I don't think that's really necessary. Of course this will be portrayed in the film, otherwise wouldn't have too much logic, but I don't see why so much focus on this aspect of his life, there are more important things to be shown in the film. Whatever. The movie sounds great and I hope that Leo take the role.

You know what I think, Piggy? Why doesn't Hollywood use gay actors for these roles? I am anxious to view "Liberace" to see WHY an old Michael Douglas and a pudgy-faced Matt Damon were cast in flamboyantly gay roles. DiCaprio always delivers with the Drama of the story, so maybe JUST BEING GAY doesn't automatically qualify you as an "Expert". You are a good case in point, although if a film is ever made about a pedophile, I hope you come under consideration for the part.
