He May No Longer Be The Tool Man, But People Still Like Tim Allen!

ratings for new tim allen sitcom are in

He's baaaaaaack!

Last night, Tim Allen's new sitcom Last Man Standing debuted on ABC, and it brought in a VERY solid 13 million viewers!

Tim's ratings were SO solid that his show earned some bragging rights for being the biggest 8 p.m. debut for a TV comedy show in over 7 years! Wowsa!

He did get some criticism though for the following joke, which his character made in the premiere episode:

"I just don’t think your kid should go to that school. You know how that ends up: Boyd dancing on a float."

Some viewers are claiming that the joke is homophobic. Here's what Tim has said in response:

"It wasn’t meant to be offensive. It was meant to be a reflection on this guy’s limited perspective."

We hear ya, Tim, but tread carefully! Your character may have a "limited perspective," but if that results in lots of anti-gay comments, we have a feeling audiences aren't going to keep buying that argument.

For now, we'll give you the benefit of the doubt, Tim. Congrats on a strong return to TV, and please keep that character of yours in check!

Did U tune in for the Last Man Standing series premiere? How do U think it compares to Home Improvement???

Wha some comedian made a joke that has a slight chance of maybe being sightly offens ive to gay people. Gay people are special and this is unexceptable. How dare they make a joke. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

don't comedians joke about everything?? home improvement sucked so i switched channels as soon as this came up. no thanks. for now… lets wait for perez to give a 2nd warning, then ill tune in. lol

what do u expect from a convicted drug dealer…he sold drugs to a kid who went on to commit suicide…
just another fucktard who thinks he's funny or better than everyone else.

stop acting like the fricking gay militia, you don't hear all the tofu eating liberal political correct tree huggers getting pissed that he inferred they raise gay babies!

And I watched it, the timing of jokes was off - the sincerity of the dialogue was off - and the realism that would make it funny was off. It has alot of work to do… and was followed by an ever more ridiculous DWTS.

IMO It was a really stupid show.

Yeah well Tim Allen is a total tool himself. He was my patient years ago in the hospital and he was a complete asshole to everyone.

It was just o.k. I'll probably watch it again. It has the feel of home improvement.

My two roommates and myself all watched the show and LOVED it. LMAO through it. Tim Allen still has it. Stop with being the gay militia too. Comedians can't make light jokes about anything now a days without someone getting their panties in a bunch.

Yeah Perez, because if you tell TIM FUCKING ALLEN to tread lightly he will listen, he is scared of the booooy with pink hair, he laughs about you.

STOP SPEAKING FOR ALL OF AMERICA! This show was a breath of fresh air. I thought it was hilarious. He even cracked a joke about Obama. I will watch this every week. It did not offend me AT ALL. Go watch Toddlers and Tiaras. Thats MUCH less offensive. HA!

I remember Tim on an HBO special saying that men give better blow jobs than women. I took it as a compliment, but swallowed my pride as my sister choked up.

The show is awesome. He still has it.
Maybe now he can stop doing the goddamn GM and soup ads.
I am sick of hearing his voice on every other ad.
