Bummer: Larry Hagman From Dallas Is Battling Cancer

Larry Hagman Cancer

Larry Hagman from Dallas is battling cancer, but the good news is that it's highly treatable.

So glad!

Apparently it might not even affect his return to the show:

Hagman, who turned 80 last month, is still set to report to work on October 17, when production begins on the revived primetime soap. Hagman is confirmed to appear in at least the first four episodes, and it's likely he'll appear in more beyond that. It's unclear whether he'll need to take any time off while undergoing treatment. Insiders say there's a chance that he'll be able to continue on the show in some sort of capacity throughout the first season, which wraps production at the end of January.

Cancer is scary, no matter how "treatable" it is!

So regardless of that, we're keeping our thoughts with him and hoping he'll get through it all with ease!

Can't wait to see you back, Larry!

Not even credible sources are reporting what type he's battling. Didn't he have liver problems a few decades ago? I sort of remember hearing about him having a transplant.

Re: AJ the Skook – He was a big drinker back in the day and had a liver transplant maybe 15 years ago.

unfortuate but he's lucky to still be alive the way I look at it- if we had destroyed our livers from boozing the way that he did, we'd have died on a transplant list
because of his fame and money he managed to get another liver faster than all the others who had waited longer-and not all people on liver transplant lists were drunks like he was- so many were more sympatheitic and deserving of the transpant at the time..I'm old enough to remember it all clearly

"In August 1995, Hagman underwent a life-saving liver transplant after admitting he had been a heavy drinker. Numerous reports state he was drinking four bottles of champagne a day on the set of Dallas."

Time for this pig to die. I bet He bought his liver from a young chinese prisioner. That how the rich do it. Also steve Jobs had a liver transplant very strange that these rich dudes always find organs.

People awaiting transplants aren't always jumping the que; often it's also about finding a compatible genetic match in the computer. To put an organ matched to Larry into someone else who was ahead of him in the line but was not a good match might waste that organ in rejection.

He also died on DH! I hope he will be fine. Looking forward to the new Dallas update.
    Get well Larry!

Oh, Mario you said it is scary to have any kind of cancer. Right you are as I am watching a loved one with stage 4. There is no cure for this one. You do the best you can and make each day count.

    Good night everyone.
