Aw, sadsies.

TNT has canceled Jason Lee's Memphis Beat, which means the show will not return for a third season next year.

The network released a statement on the show's cancelation:

"The network thanks everyone involved in the production of Memphis Beat for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew."

This is the third show that TNT has canceled recently. They've also dropped Men of a Certain Age and HawthoRNe.

Is it just because of low ratings or is TNT looking to revamp their programming?? Inneresting…

I like Jason but he just did not fit that part and the show sucked. I watched it twice and until now had forgotten it ever existed

Season 1 was great. Season 2 the changed everything and I knew it wouldn't come back for a 3rd. If they left it like season 1 it would have been great.

Re: angieintenn – I agree. The first season wasn't bad, but by the second season it was like the episodes were just a rushed reason to get to Jason singing a song. And all the singing really wore thin. In the first season it seemed like something he did for fun, but by the second season it was like he was a star in the off hours suddenly. It was just off putting. Not to mention having a character named Whitehead was just nasty.

right move. jason is a great actor, but the show…… next please!

I have to agree with the comments. The first season was watchable but the second was not. It was boring and the storylines were stupid. This one I won't miss.

I think TNT is changing their lineup.

I predict "Dallas" will flop after one season..It was and will still be an overrated soap opera.(Not a big draw these days).I guess the 80 year old JR will be chasing the old gals down at the nursing homes..If they spent a third of the money they are spending on Dallas on "Memphis Beat", "Memphis Beat" would have been a top ranked series during any season..As it goes- To TNT- Sometimes there are diamonds in your own back yard..Just look..

Never cared for Earl but I love Memphis Beat. Will never feel the same about TNT. They have really disappointed me.
