Quote Of The Day

| Filed under: Quote of the DayYoung HollywoodKristen Stewart

"I was feeling a little self-conscious about the acting thing with my peers, but also my teachers became a problem. They didn't want to do the extra work or put packages together so I could keep up while away. They failed me. My teachers failed me. Not one, but all of them. I'm always slightly ashamed in a way, about what I do. I'm slightly embarrassed as I had such serious ambitions when I was younger, I just never imagined that I would ever have a reason not go to school. But then this happened."

- Kristen Stewart To GQ on why she quit school in the seventh grade

Yea well add your parents to that list honey, because they were the ones who should have been making sure their little moneymaker I mean daughter had a proper education.

  2. 2

Oh and by the way, Jodie Foster said "lolz"

  3. 3

They are called tutors. A large percentage of young actors used them to get a GED. Many went on to College. Your teachers didn't fail you. You failed You. Your parents are idiots as well. As long as money was coming in, they didn't care. An entire family of loosers.

  4. 4

Ok, so now become an adult. Take online classes, or study for and take the GED. You are in control. Stop the blame game and take responsibility to change your lack of education.

  5. Heh says – reply to this

Um no when you are a child you are supposed to physically go to school if you want to have an acting career when you should be in school then you should get home schooled, I dont understand what she's talking about your teachers failed you because they didnt give you special privileges? FUCK YOU!

  6. 6

She's not a drop out because completed school through mail, Perez. More importantly, I KNOW YOU OF ALL PEOPLE ARE NOT MOCKING SOMEONE ELSE'S EDUCATION! PLEASE! As many spelling and grammatical errors I see on this site…you CAN NOT be serious!!!

  7. 7

It's not the responsibility of teachers to do inordinate amounts of unpaid extra work to favor a student who VOLUNTARILY misses class for auditions and job interviews. They didn't fail you, you failed to do YOUR part as a student… you know: show up, participate, learn. If being in a school environment was so important to you, it should've taken priority over auditions. Homeschooling, it sounds like, was the best option for you. Stop whining.

  8. 8

What is wrong with some of you people…and Perez? How ignorant you are! Where does she say she did not complete her studies??? Nowhere! Because she did! She completed her studies herself. She was just making the point the her high school teachers were not helpful in meeting her educational needs so therefore they failed her. It is very sad that the teachers were not capable of assisting in a young girls education. She is right. They did Fail her.

  9. tayto says – reply to this

She's not whining. She is telling the truth! People are afraid of a little honesty. It is a teachers job to educate to the best of their abilities and to cater to the individual needs of students. She obviously did not need them anyway as she finished high school herself but it is good to point out a flaw in educators. They fail many people…not just her.

  10. 10

She is awesome! Very proud of her for finishing her studies when she could of very easily not bothered. She is a really intelligent girl who is not just school smart but people smart and she is always expanding her mind through reading. Great girl!

  11. 11

Perez, if i've learned anything by being on this site is that you are a fcking hypocrite!! You keep rambling about how much hate your gay community gets, or bullying among kids, when you are doing the exact same thing on your site! Everytime i see a post with Kristen, i already know your gonna say something judgemental about her-that's bullying! Has this girl done anything to you? If you don't like her, dont post about it! It's easy for you to sit behind a desk and talk shit about someone, while they're working their ass of trying to make a living.

  12. 12

    She has heroin eyes.

  13. 13

She is so hot!!!!! Sexy green eyes and take no prisoners attitude! That is my kind of girl right there! Perfection.

  14. 14

This comment sums up what our society has come to. I am a teacher and have had experience with students leaving for extended periods of time for a variety of reasons. Many of them asked for homework packages and I happily took hours out of my day to do this for them. From that point on, it was up to the student to complete the work on their own. If they wanted extra help from a tutor, that was up to them to decide. I highly doubt it was EVERY single one of her teachers that failed her. Perhaps it was the fact that she was constantly away from school and rarely completed the assignments the teachers gave her. She made the choice to be absent. She can deal with the consequences. Perhaps homeschooling or distance education would have been a better option for her. People always seem to point the finger at teachers. Look at your own behaviour first and then make your judgements. Most teachers are there because they want to help people learn, not because they want to make it difficult. However, students have to meet teachers half way and let us HELP them learn. I'm so tired of this ignorance and blame game. Get over yourselves and take some responsibility for your actions!

  15. 15

I am actually a teacher too and I have to say in my experience there are so many teachers who just do not care. They put in the hours and run for the hills as soon as the day is over. It is a shame she encountered teachers like this. They most certainly exist and they are ruining the image of the profession. Shame on them. I know there are teachers who want the best for their students are out there too ( I like to think of myself as one of them) but they are few and far between these days.

  16. 16

    "…the acting thing" THING?
    What a fucking knob.

  17. 17

Teachers fail students all the time but because she is an actress she can not have an opinion on anything apparently. I commend her for having the guts to say what she really thinks and not giving some fluffy fake answer that we get from most people.

  18. 18

Sorry, but I'm siding with her teachers on this one. Teachers are already overwhelmed as it is. Most 7th grade teachers teach 4-5 classes a day, and have upwords of 100 students they're juggling. They don't have the TIME to devote to cater to ONE student who wants to flit off to follow her acting dreams, putting together special out-of-school lesson plans and "packages" for just that ONE person. There are schools of the arts that are devoted to the special needs of kids who are persuing the arts. The world does NOT revolve around her (or any other kid's) desire to be an actor. It's not your teachers that failed you, honey, you failed you. There are plenty of young actors out there who got a full education while working, and then went on and got degrees in higher education, too, and it's because they made the extra effort themselves. They didn't expect everyone else to bend over backwords to cater to THEIR whims, and they CERTAINLY wouldn't have blamed everyone else for their own failures if those people HADN'T bent over backwords for them.
    Sorry…not buying it.

  19. 19

Get your facts straight. She didn't quit school. She went to home schooling.

  20. 20

She is not saying ALL teachers fail their students. This is not a general attack on the teaching profession, just her one experience she is talking about. She was just unfortunate that when she needed a bit of extra attention that her teachers could not or would not help. That in my book, is them letting her down. No excuses. If these particular teachers did not have the desire to educate her then perhaps they are in the wrong industry.

  21. 21

Good on you Kristen for finishing your schooling even without the support of your teachers. Shame on Perez and other ignorant comments here for insinuating she is some uneducated loser. 7th grade reading level?? Really Perez? You know that makes you a bully right?!

  22. 22

Gross picture. Also, 7th grade?! LOL. She still can't really act either. Joan Jett had to follow her around on set and curse her out to have her convey a decent portrayal of Jett.

  23. 23

Kristen is one of the smartest people I have encountered in a while. She has her head screwed on right, unlike a lot of people around here!

  24. 24

Re: new2011 – Mario has always felt threatened by women with attutide. They're the ones that see right through him and won't give him the time of day to start with.Yeah,Kristen's got it and so do most of the women on his bully list.

  25. 25

She is so beautiful and talented. I think it is pretty obvious Perez and many others are jealous of her.

  26. 26

Oh for God sake. She did not quit school in the seventh grade and I'm pretty sure even Perez knows that, he just could not resist having another go at her for no reason at all. If it looks like a bully, sounds like a bully and acts like a bully then I think we can safely say Perez is a bully. I thought he hated those???

  27. 27

Kristen is awesome! Thank God for her in a World full of plastic and/or fake posers and know it alls. She is most definitely the most authentic person I've seen in this business.

  28. 28

your PARENTS failed you, honey! ts their job to ensure you get an education even if it means a home tutor. Teachers have dozens of other kids to educate and cant work around your selfish desires.

    and blame yourself too btw

  29. 29

It seems to me it is the people around here who have no reading skills!!!!! I have read many comments now informing others how Kristen has completed her full education yet some people can not seem to understand and insist on blaming her and her family for her not getting an education! It is very simple people. She finished the high school course outside of high school and without her high school teachers help.

  30. 30

Love her!! She is hot, smart, talented, alluring and interesting! She is a strong young woman who does not let the baying mob get to her.

  31. 31

    Re: whispa

    as she bloody should!

acting at that age is self indulgent and its down to the parents to pick up the slack…not schools.

  32. 32

I would not call acting at that age self indulgent. I would call it taking an alternative path and developing a skill for a career. Schools should support that and help as much as possible. If they cant they cant, but it is a pity. Every child should be supported and educated by their teachers regardless of their personal circumstances especially when they want to learn, which obviously she did as she did it herself.

  33. @v@ says – reply to this

Kristen and her parents have the vested interest, not random busy teachers. Grab a home school curriculum and get busy, or hire a teacher full time and well paid to go on the road with the actress with that big salary of hers. Even when kids are IN school, this type of thing happens far more than you know, so it's really up to parents to ensure that grade level content areas are covered. I kid you not.

  34. 34

Re: Tee Gee – Have you ever known a heroin addict? Or even met someone who's tried it? No? That's what I thought. Maybe you should just shut the fuck up… Mmmk?

  35. 35

Let me clarify what I, and most other's who are critical of her statements are trying to say, here. Of COURSE it's wonderful that she eventually completely her education. We aren't saying she is not an intelligent girl. What we are saying is that it is wrong of her to blame her teachers for not catering to HER desire to commit to things other than her education. Teachers are overwhelmed as it is, and are already short on time, money, and resources. Seventh grade teachers often have hundreds of students they are handling. They work a full day IN school, and then often work at home until late at night preparing lesson plans, grading papers and homework, writing progress reports, etc. (And they get paid NO overtime for this!) If SHE wanted to live a life outside of a normal school environment, then it is up to HER and her FAMILY to make sure she gets her education. It is NOT up to her teachers to chase her and to cater to HER whims.
I completely disagree that there are "so many teachers" that don't care. MOST teachers care…they care very MUCH. She and her family were the ones who decided at the time to prioritize her desire to be an actress over meeting her educational needs, NOT her teachers. Teachers in this country need people's SUPPORT, not to be told that they need to bend over even FURTHER backwords to cater to every whim of every individual.

  36. 36

Teachers always play the over worked card as an excuse. Everyone works hard but that is no excuse for not doing your job!

  37. 37

    Your PARENTS failed you…

  38. 38

Kristen is lucky she had the self desire at that age and her parents interest and support to continue her education. Many kids do not. In many situations kids can just fall between the cracks when they do not fit in to the "average" bracket.

  39. 39

What a stupid comment. It's called reading a book and educating yourself!

  40. 40

Re: mmmeee – What are you talking about?? How have her parents failed her? That is just rude and incorrect.

  41. 41

Re: KarrieBelle – You Lady are an idiot.

  42. 42

Crock of shit. You know who blames their teachers for them failing at school? Crap students. Keep passing the buck, KStew. You don't have an education because you and your parents suck. It explains why you're an awkward freak in public.

  43. 43

Re: achemg – She has an education. She or her parents did not fail anything. Guess she is not a crap student after all.

  44. idra says – reply to this

Lie! She did finish school! She had tutors and graduated in private. Why do you lie Perez?

  45. 45

I can't help but feel that Kristen's teachers weren't individually given choices as to whether or not they would allow her to take their courses as "special correspondence courses." This was probably up to people working on the administration level. If it was somehow up to the teachers, I can't exactly blame them for their actions. Based on the little I've seen of her in public appearances and based off of this excerpt, I would imagine she wasn't exactly a great student. It's hard to bend over backward for someone who doesn't seem to deserve it…especially when you're already overworked and underpaid. Kristen could have sought out alternative educational routes if finishing her high school education through her original high school was not an option. She certainly has the money to do so. It's true that, depending on the professional field into which you enter yourself after school, you may not use much of what is taught in high school. However, completing her high school education would probably help to develop Kristen's character. She strikes me as very self-absorbed and ungrateful. We don't live in a society that stays tolerant of that kind of behavior for very long….

  46. 46

Re: Adopotatoes – Amen! I don't understand why so many kids put so much effort into coming up with excuses as to why they shouldn't put that same effort into their education. There are certainly poorly-performing teachers out there, but many teachers do try very hard to create an environment where all the students can learn if they are willing to put forth the effort. Band and orchestra directors at schools fight on a daily basis to get students to practice their instruments for even 30 minutes a week, and so many of them simply won't do it. It's not enough just to show up to band or orchestra during the hour it meets. You have to PUT EFFORT into your education if there are going to be results. When a group doesn't sound right, the parents want to jump down the directors' throats instead of making their kids practice at home. This culture of laziness seems to have run rampant throughout all areas of education in every part of this country!

  47. 47

Hilarious! People criticizing her who themselves do not seem to even be able read or comprehend!! SHE DID FINISH HER EDUCATION!!!!!!!! She is always talking about what book she is reading at the moment and it is always something complex and deep. This girl is no dummy and she continues to become more and more interesting to me.

  48. 48

Re: sohaveiforyou83 – Excuse me but what makes you think Kristen was not a good student from the little you have seen of her public appearances? A little judge mental dont you think? I agree people who are lazy should be accountable but she was not lazy as she completed the program herself which obviously shows she was a very good student!! Maybe, just maybe, she has a point and her personal teachers sucked!

  49. 49

    Re: Candice88

well she has no need to throw ALL her schools teachers under the bus. She was the one who chose to extract herself from the school system. HER choice. Live with it and be damned happy you tuned out just fine.

  50. 50

Whether or not she finished her education (by any means) is not the issue of concern here.

What seems outrageous to me is her blanket condemnation of ALL HER TEACHERS because they would not to to the extra work to make up for HER CHOICE of following an interest that precluded her attendance at school. Isn't that the situation of all child actors? Aren't there solutions for that like private tutors? You pay, yes, but isn't that also the gamble you take when you pursue this "acting thing"?

"My teachers became a problem". Grow up, girl.

  51. 51

Re: whateverymwm – Teachers do not get paid enough to cater to the needs of every student. If her parents were so hyped to get to her the auditions then i'm sure they made the proper arrangements to help her complete school. Teachers have enough stress with receiving little pay and dealing with your unruly children who happen to turn into angels when they are at home but satan's little helpers at school.

  52. 52

Re: MableMartin – Maybe her teachers were a problem?!! You do not know them or what happened. She does.

  53. 53

and Im sure her teachers and school assumed that her parents would continue her education privately. Seems like a reasonable assumption to me. So they probably didnt feel any need to assist her further because they knew she'd be fine. Again, she made the choice to leave their services so its not up to them to chase after her with books.

  54. 54

In my opinion her teachers should have helped her more if they could. I'm glad she finished her education herself but if she feels they could have done more they probably could have.

  55. 55

True there are some teachers who just don't try, however, there are many teachers who get paid very little money to work 15 hour days. Then a celebrity comes along and AGAIN thinks that they should get treated special. Celebrities think they are in their own world as it is and think that they don't have to follow any rules. They think they are above the law, and don't usually have any morals. Also, most celebrities haven't finished high school and believe they are educated enough to tell us who to vote for. Get off your pedestal and quit your bitching!

  56. 56

Yeah and I failed a semester of Spanish in 11th grade cause I gigged with the school Jazz Band. MY FAULT for not making the tests and such up even though I know BASIC SPANISH. Grow up Kristen. Won't cry for you.

  57. 57

I do not see what they bid deal is and why people are having a go at Kristen. All she said was in her personal situation, her personal teachers did not help her. She was not criticizing all teachers or the education system or playing the victim or thinking she is above it all and she most certainly was not telling us who to vote for!!

  58. 58

Whether it was her teachers responsibiltiy or not , she did finish school and at the end of the day whatever she says people will hate on her. Shes damned if does and she damned if she doesnt so to speak People should lay off shes 21 and because she will not confirm to the hollywood image everybody is horrible to her which I find to be funny considering her male counterparts pattinson and lautner are praised on this site people should just get over it.

  59. 59

Seriously, babe? I work with teachers. There are good ones and bad ones…but blaming your teachers for not catering to your every need while you were working??!!! It's called personal responsibility. Get a tutor and shut your trap. Damn.

  60. 60

Okay, well maybe she should consider the fact that her teachers probably had 60 other kids in all to worry about. Not to mention, how difficult it is to plan that far in advance without being able to assess a child as they go along and see where their strengths, challenges, and interests are. And when it comes to good acting….she's the one who failed.

  61. 61

I'm sick of everyone attacking Kristen all the time including Perez himself. She did not do anything wrong here at all and was speaking of her own personal experience that nobody else knows anything about. I'm very glad she finished her education for herself. I can only imagine the hideous things people would say about her if she did not! People need to grow up and stop attacking a young girl and taking out their own issues on her. Its pathetic!

  62. 62

Re: SullenWhirlGirl – Case and point!

  63. 63

You failed and your parents failed.. people.. see what a lack of education makes you sound like. you would sound as stupid as Kristen. how lame to blame the school for her lack of education…. wow…………..

  64. 64

Re: Tink66 – Can you not read? Seriously??? She did finish her education how many times must people say it for you to understand? I would much rather sound like Kristen than you anyway.

  65. 65

Re: Landanzoo – I completely agree with everything you just said. It is very evident that some people just want to hate Kristen for no valid reason. It stinks of bitterness and really I feel quite sorry for them.

  66. 66

She is such a sour puss. She gets paid millions of dollars to blink, scoff and stutter. Smile and try to get through an interview without complaining!

  67. 67

She is so gorgeous! Love everything about her!

  68. 68

Dear Kristen Stewart, You are SO right! What was I thinking, working on intentional instruction and not making packets for you, going that "extra mile?" I mean, not that you would need me if you had those packets, as they seem to be the critical piece to your education. But how dare I, on top of planning, grading, meeting with teachers and parents, not think about you. Or, wait! YOU could have taken the initiative and gotten an on-set tutor. What a concept. YOU CLEARLY need an education in ENTITLEMENT. UGH.

  69. 69

She's SO hot!!! she looks like she could have royal blood in her. as in The King, Elvis Presley… just sayin.

  70. 70

And isn't weird that Anne Hathaway, James Franco, Natalie Portman, Jodie Foster don't seem to have your problem and are significantly better actors than you? Just curious. But then, you wouldn't engage in dialogue because we failed you in that, too.

  71. 71

    Lazy teachers make me sick

  72. 72

She is so beautiful, real and talented! Hot!

  73. 73

FINALLY! Someone who is not afraid of giving a real answer!! Kristen my dear, you just got yourself a new fan!

  74. 74

I have so much respect for her

  75. 75

    dumb hoe

  76. 76

Wow.. this stupid bitch.. really? you blame your teachers and everyone else for not getting an education??? What a dumbass! How many actors have a education and still have a great career?? Teachers don't have to do all the extra shit, you are not special. You should have got a fucking tutor if you were going to focus on acting. YOU failed YOU.. no one else.. get over yourself.. and you know you are a grown ass woman now.. why are you still blaming shit on other people?.. If you really wanted a education you would focus on that and put your "acting" to the side.. grow the fuck up it is no ones fault but your own.. and you should have focused more on your education because your acting sucks!! The only reason why anyone casts you is because of your twilight crap because dumb horny teens are obsessed with it..
Seriously, why does anyone like this chick? She can't act for shit and her personality sucks.. she always says dumb things and blames everyone else.. Christ already

  77. 77

Okay people.. we get that she got her education.. but the blame game is why everyone is annoyed with her, get it? It is her responsibility no matter what.. she wanted to act, so she needs to take responsibility.. blaming your teachers is childish. She wanted to act get the fuck over it.. she is not special.. there are other students to take care of too, that actually show up.. other people made it just fine acting and getting educated.. if she made it good for her but she has nothing to bitch about because no one is more special than others who aren't going out and doing other things..-.-

  78. 78

Oh Lord. She did not blame them for her not getting an education because she actually did get an education!! What are people harping on about…its like they just want to be nasty to her! All she was saying was they did not help HER! Nobody knows what actually happened but her…everyone else should just shut up and mind their own business!

  79. 79

She is a sexy little devil! Smart, hot and talented! Yes please!!

  80. 80

For all of you that think she still hasn't gotten a GED or an education, Kristen has actually gotten her high school diploma and with honors. She graduated during the filming of Eclipse.

  81. 81

Oh how I love her! I love how everything she says gets people so riled up! People can not help but talk about her, she obviously has some sort of allure for them!!!!!

  82. 82

Love her hair, also, she dropped out to be home schooled. She has finished school and during the time they where filming Kristen was studying. She took her exam when they shoot Eclipse.
I feel sorry for her that she had those kind of teachers, I mean, the HP gangs teacher sent them work so they could film the movies and they also got a tutor while they where away.
