Marine Takes On 30 Cops At Occupy Wall Street - And WINS!

This is absolutely incredible!

In light of the NYPD police brutality that has been going on with protestors at the Occupy Wall Street movement, a 24-year-old Marine veteran, already having completed two tours in Iraq, named Sgt. Shemar Thomas literally took on about 30 cops yesterday to chastize the unwarranted behavior on unarmed citizens!

Check it out (above)! It's EPIC!

And we have to say, pretty badass and inspiring!

We wish more politicians had this kind of experience and insight into the public!

This is really, really old now. Perez, your comment numbers and re-tweets are dwindling, perhaps you're too diversified?

  2. 2

Ha just saw this on Philip DeFrancos channel for stuff he likes…i'd almost think someone there watches it too or one of the readers does and sent a tip in because this is ironic right now.

  3. 3

This is a really BRAVE, PATRIOTIC HUMAN being and soldier!

  4. 4

i understand where this marine is coming from… he has done a great service for our country and deserves much honor and appreciation for his duty. That being said, the cops who he is fighting with are innocents. They are just doing the job that they were commanded to do. He is picking a fight with the wrong group of people. If he wants to stand up to people he is going about it the wrong way. The people who are doing there jobs are innocent. they are following orders just as he would do in iraq or Afghanistan. it is sad that he cannot see that having lived through the experience overseas. we all have our jobs that we are required to do. chastising cops is not the way to get what you want.

i think this guy is awesome!tell em Shemar!

Black people acting like black people.

  7. 7

Sgt. S. Thomas will not tolerate unarmed civilians being hurt… more of us need to stand by him .. ENOUGH!

  8. 8

Just watched it again….. He's awesome & proud. Thank you for your service Sgt. Thomas on foreign land & HERE at home. (Hugs)

Uhh…looks to me that the police are standing around peacefully and just doing there job while this guy is yelling like a maniac..

The Nazi and communist party are also supporting occupy Wall Street and in Oregon they were singing a song "F" America. This guy is an outlier—not sure most veterans would support these losers on Wall Street who's most recent job was occupying their mother's basement…

  10. 10

Don't you dare sit here and tell the world this guy makes you proud for assaulting cops. And please, become a little more educated on a topic before you speak. All the "brutality" you speak of? Why don't you ask the actual cops who have to be there every day? With protestors sh*tting on cop cars or throwing feces at cops. But now, these losers who refuse to go out and find jobs like normal people, and expect people to hand things to them for some unspoken sense of entitlement, they are the real heroes here. Dick.

  11. 11

    What did he win?

  12. 12

How is this impressive? it's a black dude throwing a tantrum and the cops are standing around listening to it. how is standing around making sure no one does anything harmful or illegal "hurting people."

Mario, wtf is so impressive here? This guy is making an ass of himself quite frankly.

I have always admired people who stand up for what they believe in, and clearly Sgt. Thomas feels very strongly about the alleged police actions occurring in New York against the protesters.

Having lived through the G8 though, I can say that these situations are not always black and white. Regardless of the 'meaning' behind Occupy, there are always other groups out there who will attempt to hijack and manipulate events of this magnitude for their own (not always well intentioned) purposes. There has been violence among protesters, there has been violence towards other citizens, and there has been violence towards police officers. For the police in New York to do nothing in response to this violence would not only be cowardly, but also criminal. They have a duty to protect the people and property of the city they have sworn to serve.

What I find to be truly ironic though is Perez talking this guy up when his entire existence is based on the support of big business and global finance. The ad executives who purchase space on this page for the primarily fashion and media industry are all part of the same global franchise group and 'big business' itself. A bit hypocritical don't you think Perez?

  14. 14

He got what he wanted, people to know he served in Iraq. This guy needs some humility.

  15. 15

Re: wilsonmaggi – Blind obedience does not = innocence. If someone hurts someone else they can't say "well they told me to"… that is not an excuse for ignoring the difference between right and wrong. That is the same excuse many war criminals gave after brutally torturing people and committing genocide in World War II.

  16. 16

this guy is just running his mouth. thats it

  17. 17

After serving 14 months in iraq, this guy will be dammed if he sees the people of his country being threatened by a bunch of cops on a power trip. Good for him. I wish more people had the courage to do what is right, to stand up for all the people, not just the rich ones or the well connected ones, but everyone. It takes courage to stand up and say "no, this is not right." "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace" . I applaud this guy, for standing up for what he believes in and standing up in a way that protected others. we are the 99%

  18. 18

    Bravo Sgt. Shemar Thomas!
Some Americans forget that it is American to defend people who protest something you might detest.

  19. 19

Preaching to the wrong choir, brother. I admire those that want to stand up for what they believe or make change - but do it effectively. These particular cops seem to have as much to do with the Sgt's rant as you or I do.

  20. 20

this is not police brutality……WHERE ARE THESE SHIT HEADS WHEN THE REALLY POLICE BRUTALITY HAPPENS IN BROOKLYN OR BRONX…..i dont see the white faces complaining them….so MORE POWER TO THE POLICE

  21. 21

Just because you serve 14 months in Iraq doesn't mean you have the right to interfere with the police trying to keep order. He should understand that they have a job to do.

  22. 22

    This is awesome!

  23. 23

I agree with the the other statements- this guy does Not impress me. He is just yelling the same shit over and over! This "protest" is costing NYC millions of dollars in overtime just to keep the peace. And yes, some of these protesters are just there to cause problems and create anarchy! And also shitting on police cars, how nice… In this video I see the police standing and listening to this guy yell in their faces. It is not their fault that he is angry. The protestors need to act and create CHANGE, not just occupy and create more havoc in an already dreadful situation.

  24. 24

funny thing is cops dont even make that much money if anything they should be out there protesting too!!

  25. 25

Another sign that Occupy Wall Street is a piece of crap idea. What is it, the 5th week now? Has Wall Street caved yet?!?! Oh wait, Wall Street has nothing to do with officiating change…at least not the kind of change protesters are hoping for. Sheesh, all that's been accomplished in the last 5 weeks are people wasting time/energy/tax dollars standing in the street …way to go. It disgusts me that people compare this to the Civil Rights Movement and/or the Vietnam protests. And now you have this "upstanding citizen" who thinks that serving in the war gives him the right to go after a random group of cops. That's like going after a group of soldiers because there was unnecessary brutality and casualties of war in Iraq….ineressin'.

  26. 26

America is one big Natzi concentration camp…they came over via Project Paper clip after WWII.

  27. 27

Lemme get this straight. THis guy is yelling at cops for hurting civilians. What would happen on his next tour if Iraqi citizens started yelling the same expletives at him. "Why are you hurting us. That doesn't make you brave…" This guy is a fucking hypocrite.

  28. 28

wallstreet will never change nor cave, they arent scared of this. Its our government that is messing up America! End the war save how many millions a month or billions? Give US citizens cheaper healthcare! It takes a HUGE chunk out of my paycheck! People dont realize instead of looking for a job they sit there all day. Wasting unemployment benefits! Thats what people on wellfare do. they shoot out 6 kids and live off americans tax dollars. THAT needs to change! Rules need to be made! ENOUGH!

A healthy soldier rant and reminder about honor, America and Serve and Protect won't hurt anybody. : )

  30. 30

Well done and respected Sgt. Shemar Thomas.

  31. 31

A GOOD 80% OF NYC COPS ARE COMPLETE ASSHOLES, ANYONE CAN BE A COP IN NYC, THEY WILL TRAIN AND TAKE ANYONE IN!

  32. 32

AWESOME. He makes me want to name my babies after him!

  33. 33

What a let down, I thought it would be this guy tackling 30 cops. MARIO, WHY THE MISLEADING TITLE?

  34. 34

  35. 35

Please stop calling him a soldier, if you want to refer to him call him a Marine. He served in the United States Marine Corps
